Game week thread - Bills at Falcons MNF
oldmanfan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
You seem to want to put a negative spin on things because of the one loss last week. I don’t. Enjoy feeling the way you feel. Interesting points. I want to see us use the RBs more in the passing game. Josh talks about Ty Johnson being the best 3rd down back in the league but they’re not using him much. -

I think we tend to come back and play better after a loss like last week. I hope we see some personnel changes. I want to see Ingram instead of Tre to begin with. -

I think both coordinators didn’t do well last week. But as for other games as I said above the differences between teams in the NFL is not as wide as many assume. This week’s game will also likely be closer than many think. Some will look at the Falcons loss to Carolina and assume we should dominate. But the Falcons have Bijon and a pretty good D. -
You keep saying their easy schedule. Just as one example, would the Eagles fans had said the Giants game was easy? The Chiefs for the Jags? The difference between teams in the NFL is much narrower than we tend to think. We will lose a few more games this year. So will the Pats. The Bills need to step up their game to be sure. No one would deny that. But there seems to be an assumption they won’t or can’t. I disagree.

Week 6, Bills v. Falcons, PREDICT THE SCORE!

Bills 31, birds 27. -
Maybe panic is a bit extreme, but so is saying it’s realism that all of a sudden we are not a good football team. Three turnovers lost the game last week; that is extremely uncharacteristic for the Bills. The offense despite everyone complaining about it is one of the top offenses in the league. The defense actually played decently last week, but needs more consistent performances from a lot of guys. Last week the team played dumb football. Too many stupid penalties, stupid calls, just overall stupid. That will not likely recur.
-
The panic over one close loss is over the top. The Pats played a good game, we didn’t, and we still should have won. And I’m sorry but they do teach tackling and catching the ball, but the coaches can’t do it for them.

The Chiefs are playing what could be the best team in the league this week. They lose and they’re 2-4, and they haven’t looked like the same Chiefs all year.

Yes. All teams get injuries. It’s a physical game. The Patriots will lose a few you don’t think they will because that is what happens in the NFL. The Bills will win games you don’t think they will because that is what happens in the NFL. The doom and gloom stuff around here because of one game is just silly at this point. -
Michael Palmer article in SU Paper this morning

Brady has to do a better job scheming guys open. Josh has to recognize guys downfield that have one on one situations and trust them to make plays. Even so we have a top offense. -
We played like crap last week and still should have pulled it out. I’m not worried.

Yes. Because of one game. Horrors. Coleman needs to grow up somewhat; this kind of discipline should help. Either that or have Dawkins and Brown pin him against a wall and threaten to beat his ass.

One always thinks the grass is greener on the other side, but most of the time it’s brown.- 217 replies

They will likely be calling Jackson up. And I would start Ingram over Tre right now.
-
The whole defense needs to learn that for sure.
-
But he’s a safety. I gather they wanted another LB around with what’s going on with Williams and Milano.
-
We have right now as starters Thompson and Bernard. Williams and Milano can be back soon. Them Buffalo Joe and Ciarlo. Then Jenkins on the practice squad. Is bringing a guy back familiar with the system really worth getting one’s panties in a knot?
-
I don’t get some people here. If it were your business and you needed a replacement, and could hire a former employee that knows how your business runs vs. someone with no clue, what would you do? It is a practice squad thing. You would have to have Milano, Williams, Buffalo Loe all out before you’d get to that point.

Step up and play a solid game. No more dumb penalties and such. -
The final play to Shakir. Samuel was wide open for easy TD

I have said many times today there was a ton of blame to be assigned for yesterday’s outcome. -

Sixty sixth year for me. This is helpful; indicating your lack of objectivity with respect to Josh helps me understand your posts more. He had a B game, but as my dad would say if I got a B on my report card: you are capable of A’s so I expect A’s. Of course we had too many guys that had C and D games as well. -
May have played his last down as a Bill
