  1. I don't agree with this. What would be the point of keeping Woodrum or Yates over Cardale? What's the upside there? Cardale has had almost no game time at all please don't tell me you can accurately evaluate him as a QB, or particularly a QB in this system... My point exactly. Well articulated.
  2. I would be very surprised if Cardale gets cut. Makes sense to have Tyrod, Cardale, and Peterman on the roster this year in my opinion. None of those guys are going to realistically "step in and win" so no matter what if Ty goes down, it's season over so you might as well keep the prospects rather than known crappy backups.
  3. I hear you OP. And I get the feeling... Just a gut feeling I have that the Pegulas have shut off the peanut gallery, stopped being molded by outside influence, and are making an honest effort to be successful owners the right way. I really believe that McDermott is our coach for 5 years regardless of his success rate. They realize that they do not know football and have identified someone they believe does. Now they owe it to themselves, Sean, and the fans to let him implement his plan, completely, autonomously, until it is apparent whether it works or does not work.
  4. No I am not concerned. And as he said it's not even about the "high character", it's about availability. High character guys put the team in front of themselves and make decisions aimed at making sure they are available. Fits in with his draft style too where he said he likes guys that played for long stretches and don't have an injury history. They played "consistently" as he put it. Look at the problems that got Whaley fired... Dareus, Sammy, Harvin, Lawson, Ragland, etc... They were not available. By all accounts all great players or great prospects, but could not stay on the field. McD understands that the best ability is availability. He was just trying to win a Nobel prize. Dareus smoked one and told him they were handing out Nobels to people "out standing in their field". Semantics are hard for some guys.
  5. Lol And that's how tons of good punters get to the NFL. To the point where a GM could catch some ribbing for drafting one. I would be shocked if Schmidt makes the team. Likely list in my mind. Only other people I could see McD even consider would be Shady or Cordy
  6. I support the spirit of this thread... ... But tread lightly on country music, friend. People criticizing right now... Well those people probably complain that the sun is too bright or the beer is too cold. We walked in with 6 picks, walk out with 6 picks but get 3 potential starters and an extra 1st next year. But alas, whiners gotta whine.
  7. I think so. Read some of the stuff coming out of obd right now media-wise. The articles constantly harking on" mcDermott's decision", or how "he felt" or "his plan". It's clear they are putting distance between these decisions and Whaley. Seemed odd to me how many times they hammer home that it's all up to Sean. I would bet it's tomorrow morning or monday.
  8. Oh, the obligatory "I'm done with them" thread. They never are.
  9. That's the second time in this thread you accused someone of embarrasing themselves. Yeah... You actually said that to someone else, after all the nonsense and namecalling you have partaken in over the last 12ish hours, I'm quite shocked you are still around to even make this thread. You claiming to know for sure is just as bad as other claiming the opposite is true for sure. There is no proof either way just conjecture, or else everybody would believe the same thing. But go on with your crusade of insults and condescension, a mod will shut you down at some point.
  10. Right, and somebody gave US a first round pick so they could reach for a qb. Flip the script, we trade 2 1st's for a not even first round talent prospect and we would be the clowns of the draft, but Reid does it and he's a genius... Lol
  11. They gave the NFL the 10th pick and got a top 60 player in return. That is worth a laugh in KC?
  12. So you are upset for lack of a 20 year plan that spans 2 different owners, 6 GM's, and 10 HC's? Would be quite the logistical nightmare to coordinate this plan. Also, not overpaying talent, replacing them with young talent, at a much more manageable cap number, and two extra picks to boot seems pretty conventionally appealing. Just the type of thing that great teams do. We aren't a great team yet that is no doubt, but this is a great team type move. Well put. Plus he, you know.... tackles.
  13. I wonder if that was part of todays trade, getting the ammo to move up next year for someone, meanwhile giving them another year to make a decision on Tyrod. Maybe save the Tyrod decision for the rumored new GM?
  14. Really smart pick for a good football player. The only thing I don't like is that this board will be intolerable for the immediate future because he's not a QB. Nevermind we picked up a 1st and 3rd and still got one of the top corners. And get ready to see something you did not see in Buffalo last year: a DB who plays the ball in the air and willingly tackles.
  15. Quoting Sully at this point is like quoting Breitbart in ppp.....
  16. I don't know enough about the RB prospects in this draft to enter an opinion, but I would love it if we take a RB with the pick we got for Gillislee and he outproduces Gillislee.
  17. I would be willing to bet that a QB at 10 would have a similar rate of becoming a franchise QB as a second round QB historically. In reality, the best QBs are drafted in the first few picks, definitely before 10, and then the late gems. (wilson 3rd, brady 6th, etc...) My opinion is you draft a QB in the first 3 picks or you wait until later rounds. No need in wasting picks (like the jets) just drafting a qb yearly for the sake of it. OP wants to believe all you need is QB but that is only true with the Cheaters. Even Peyton Manning and Drew Brees needed significant help getting rings, and only did when they had defenses that were class of the league. Are you suggesting we will get a QB better than Manning or Brees at the tenth overall freakin pick?
  18. I don't want a two bit rb like Bluont. We are talking about a guy who colluded with the Pats to get himself released from PIT, so he could re-sign with NE. He can stay unemployed or sign with somebody else.
  19. Good point. I just don't want to find out Friday that we drafted the guy in question.
  20. Man I hate Kraft and want to trash him..... But this article (and writer) are garbage disposal sledge. Five seconds into this, you realize the obvious angry bias and propoganda style rhetoric. And his reasons for being fired... Holy crap read that tweet. And people say to me "hey Kev, why don't you use social media?"
  21. Yeah I feel guilty even using message boards... But social media really is the scourge of the nation right now. People cannot handle other opinions. If you look at many of the real problems we face, social media exacerbates nearly every one. I won't even get into privacy, and everyone willingly volunteering highly personL information, as well as leaving every facet of your life for eveeyone to see. I don't know anyone who would want to be held responsible for the worst thing they have ever said, so why create a "paper trail". I won't go on for days, though I could. It shocks me how complicit people are in they're own undoing.
  22. Yup. And in the end we signed a street FA and essentially traded him for a 5th. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to keep MG, but you don't negotiate with terrorists.
  23. It really is true, meathead. I hate to say it but it's true. They have the combo of great coach, great QB, and everyone else signs a $1 contract just to get rings. I ****ing hate it but as Johnny Cash sang "I don't like it but I guess things happen that way".
  24. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/192419-bills-tender-groy-and-gillislee-but-not-ik-or-schmidt/?do=findComment&comment=4271319 Skimming through the first 2 pages, there are at least 4 posts wishing we tendered him higher or worried someone else wouod sign him. That narrative continued with other threads that he would be "the next Hogan".
  25. There's not enough time in 6 hours a year to hate Brady, so it spills over to my regular life, especially when he manipulates a charity to benefit other rich folks. This is why folks should not give money to huge ambiguous charities, so little ends up actually getting to the specified cause (even in non-corrupt organizations). Like was mentioned above, give directly to st judes, or your local shelter, humane society, VA, etc. Then your money goes directly in.
