I want one clear answer on Friday
Heavy Kevi replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find it comical that you post over the top, rediculous posts on a near daily basis.... ... And then act like everyone else is crazy. But you got your attention, didn't you. And that really is the point of this thread. -
I want one clear answer on Friday
Heavy Kevi replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
29?! I never cease to be surprised. Fans aren't part of the inner circle, and are not in the CBA.... The NFL is a supplier of entertainment, we are the consumer, that's capitalism sir. Fair trade, nobody wins. Would be nice to be able to get the inner workings, but they don't actually owe us anything, and any sentiment to the contrary is just jive. To put it clearly: Contrary to popular belief, nobody owes you anything. If you have to know the inner workings of an NFL franchise I submit you work for one, or start one of your own. -
Russ Brandon - keep him or fire him?
Heavy Kevi replied to Spurna's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So I know this is Bills forum, but he is reportedly in charge of Sabres new GM hire. I don't expect him to be any better at hockey management than he was NFL. And I also know most likely he has nothing to do with football ops, but we DONT know that for sure. He has failed in every aspect of his job that we can fairly assess (gm, hiring gms, hiring hcs, etc), so I don't quite get why he has always had such a huge army of MB members to rush to his defense, as I view most of what he has done as indefensible. He is a top exec in a failing organization, and that right there is enough to get you fired even if you are just the office pencil sharpener and copy maker. -
One of the undrafted pick ups has a mean streak...
Heavy Kevi replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reminds me of Ritchie actually. Obviously much larger and against lowly competition, but hey no wonder why they brought him in. -
I think it matters because it's real reporting with *apparently* real sources. It is, in a word, journalism. Something that does not happen much anymore as most just hot take and retweet with their adgenda. One of the last of a dying breed, as the world evolves into propoganda and lies. You can't trust the media these days, so if there is someone I can believe, it's a big deal in my opinion.

The Pegulas flushed 35 million down the toilet
Heavy Kevi replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who gives a flying crap It's their money, and they will make it back 15 seconds into the first game. And Terry has made it clear that his goal for the Sabres and Bills isn't to make money. Fracking makes alot more than a pro sports franchise. -
Money for nothin' for sure....

Gary Barnidge visited the Bills May 3rd
Heavy Kevi replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm shocked there hasn't been more interest in him. It's tempering my enthusiasm at the moment. But he might help us out alot if signed. -
Peterman will be the starter.
Heavy Kevi replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah and with Michael Jasper at DT nobody will be able to run up the middle! -

Well what we've been doing isn't working. It's not like it's unheard of, and we need a shake-up. -
Nathan Peterman/Trent Edwards (pre-Cards game) comparison
Heavy Kevi replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is true... But more concerning is the narrative that Trent was any good at any point. Saying he was bad after that Wilson hit implies there was proficiency before that moment. Captain checkdown was horrendous and painful to watch since the beginning. If anyone thinks we 3-and-out alot now (we actually do), it was way worse with Trentative. Let's be honest here that any win coming during his tenure was due to the bend-don't-break cover 2, RB, and ST. The 7 games we won every year with him were despite him not because of him. I hope there are no similarities. -
Don't blame reefer for OP's lunacy. Buffalobud420 and billsbareback should be buddies. They know more than everyone else. Duh. Oh, also.... This thread is a train wreck. And saying something stupid becomes compounded when you double down and defend it. How in the sam hell could you even glean a philosophy from an asst GM, even if that were a thing and/or mattered at all?

Future GM option - Eliot Wolf
Heavy Kevi replied to Billzgobowlin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McDermott just ran the draft. Clearly, as even the team has supported that. You really think they would only let him do that the first year, and then it defaults to the GM? Doubtful in my mind. McD is the man at OBD, and any GM will be "on the same page", most likely with McD's pre-approval. -
Pats fans laughing at Bills GM firing
Heavy Kevi replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Closet Pats* "fan"? Or out of the closet? I'm confused because your post screams "I'm a Pats* fan" from the rooftops, but you joined long ago, back before there were any fans in Foxborough. Quite a conundrum. -
Pats fans laughing at Bills GM firing
Heavy Kevi replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't much care what Pats* fans have to say. I am happy they are pat fans though, it makes it easier to know who not to interact with. It's like a dunce cap or a scarlet letter. -
17 members of Bills scouting staff fired.
Heavy Kevi replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah idk why everyone is so sensative to these firings all of the sudden. If I failed to do my job well for an extended period of time I would expect to be fired too. -
None of these names would surprise me. I wonder if they already have a favorite or if they are gonna start interviewing everyone. Beane would seem a little too convenient to me if they don't at least talk to some other candidates, so I like hearing them linked to some legit GM targets

5 QBs, only 3 will be retained.
Heavy Kevi replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't agree with this. What would be the point of keeping Woodrum or Yates over Cardale? What's the upside there? Cardale has had almost no game time at all please don't tell me you can accurately evaluate him as a QB, or particularly a QB in this system... My point exactly. Well articulated. -

Heavy Kevi replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be very surprised if Cardale gets cut. Makes sense to have Tyrod, Cardale, and Peterman on the roster this year in my opinion. None of those guys are going to realistically "step in and win" so no matter what if Ty goes down, it's season over so you might as well keep the prospects rather than known crappy backups. -
I hear you OP. And I get the feeling... Just a gut feeling I have that the Pegulas have shut off the peanut gallery, stopped being molded by outside influence, and are making an honest effort to be successful owners the right way. I really believe that McDermott is our coach for 5 years regardless of his success rate. They realize that they do not know football and have identified someone they believe does. Now they owe it to themselves, Sean, and the fans to let him implement his plan, completely, autonomously, until it is apparent whether it works or does not work.
-
No I am not concerned. And as he said it's not even about the "high character", it's about availability. High character guys put the team in front of themselves and make decisions aimed at making sure they are available. Fits in with his draft style too where he said he likes guys that played for long stretches and don't have an injury history. They played "consistently" as he put it. Look at the problems that got Whaley fired... Dareus, Sammy, Harvin, Lawson, Ragland, etc... They were not available. By all accounts all great players or great prospects, but could not stay on the field. McD understands that the best ability is availability. He was just trying to win a Nobel prize. Dareus smoked one and told him they were handing out Nobels to people "out standing in their field". Semantics are hard for some guys.

I support the spirit of this thread... ... But tread lightly on country music, friend. People criticizing right now... Well those people probably complain that the sun is too bright or the beer is too cold. We walked in with 6 picks, walk out with 6 picks but get 3 potential starters and an extra 1st next year. But alas, whiners gotta whine.
