We have a hole in our hearts the shape of a franchise QB, and we keep trying to shove other QBs in that hole but they don't fit. Not until we get one that truly fits the hole will we stop fighting about it. In the meantime, we had a gaping hole of at least 6 threads a day fighting about Tyrod, and somehow our FO managed to find a QB even more polarizing so here we are.

This. None of those folks on the OP list got us to the playoffs. McBeane did. Now the Pegs are feeling secure throwing their eggs in what they surely believe is a sturdy basket. I believe tue Pegs want a long tenure coach. Even if he's not the greatest coach in the league, ala Jeff Fisher and Marvin Lewis, I truly think they get a very long grace period (4 or more years imo), and even moderate success will keep them around for twice that long. And it's about freakin' time.

All the clauses in the world don't change the fact that he quit. He quit because he wanted assurances that he wouldn't be fired (unheard of) after Orton retired (plus a big extension). He knew he couldn't field a winner and his massive ego would rather screw us over and quit so he couldn't be fired. He put his ego in front of his self described "dream job", for the second time after vacating his other "dream job" in cuse. Dick move. He does not get a pass for setting us back 3 years.

Yeah... 3 times last year we only managed to muster 3 points. I know TT was great at not turning the ball over, but I want to put points on the board. 29th ranked offense isn't going to cut it, so realistically, the new QBs don't really have to be THAT good to be better.

I fully agree. I know we are going to see Allen eventually, but really want to see what AJ can do. If AJ does start, I expect 37 "Start Allen" threads as soon as AJ throws an incompletion. That will get old, but I would be fine with giving AJ the year, as long as he earns it to start the season.

I think Baker arguably would have to do less to get the nod. Obviously the reason Allen's odds are better than Darnold/Rosen because there is little else at QB so he is more likely to play. I think Guice probably has a pretty great chance at it, I would say that's where the smart money is at as far as risk/odds. Imo Sony has almost no chance. I have seen nothing from the pats that would leave me to believe that any RB will be a bellcow for them and get 20 carries/game.

Agreed, but I do believe he needs lots of talent on D to be successful. You can implement a cover 2 just about anywhere, but pettine's D needs a dominant D-line

Yeah, me too. Rather just stick with a classic than make some minor new improvements to make the logo look mad or mean. Don't wamt to be like the phins and just keep putting up new versions of the worst logo in sports (maybe tie with Florida Panthers). Standing Buffalo. Clean. Classic.

This is it... These talking heads are just trying to defend their own rankings. Their job is less accurate than a meteorologists so they constantly have to defend their opinions and deflect what they got wrong. High graders are hoping Allen works out and they look smart, low graders hope he busts. Confirmation bias at it finest.
