Opposing teams know the plays - some of them have said as such. The offense looks like it's called by a 14 year old Madden addict that just slammed 2 red bulls and wants to hit a 75 yard TD so he can get to the bathroom asap.

Letting Josh coach himself was the incorrect decision
Heavy Kevi replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
Players given up on the coaching And it didn't just happen this week. -
Bolded really only applies to wild card. For division, I do believe the first few tiebreakers in order are: -Head to head record (hold that over Miami at the moment) -Division record (currently mia 2-1 and bills 1-2) not too far off -Point differential (Buffalo leads the league rn I believe) So if Miami doesn't lose to pats or jets (and bills keep close to pace), the Miami game in Miami is really the most important remaining game and most likely carries the biggest playoffs/no playoffs swing. I'm not particularly optimistic or anything just thought I'd throw that out there. This year isn't cooked yet, even though it definitely feels like it .

Meh, the Gints are pretty terrible. But I'd be more than happy with Daboll for OC of a rookie HC in buffalo if nyg moves on. But I'd still prefer an offensive guru type guy at HC to anything. But not really Daboll. Although if it's a binary choice I'd take Daboll. We know he can get the most out of Josh and hold him accountable. Josh is like a wild horse and he needs different guidance that the typical guy. The "culture" here has run its course. Haha I almost posted this. I don't think he's a viable HC candidate but he'd be a great OC pick for the rest of the year if we canned Dorsey now.

Prob not wrong. If anyone is paying attention the book is out on Miami too. Just force Tua off-schedule. He simply cannot play NFL football if not allowed to throw on schedule.
-
Welp Maybe we can sneak into a wildcard spot. Maybe catch some bounces. I mean we have catch some bounces sometime right? RIGHT!?
-
It was a catch. But that point in the game it's not worth risking a TO for 9 yards So it was the wrong call to challenge even if it was overturned
-
Defense banged up but holding their own. Offense just needs to carry their own weight.
-
Chan Gailey would call a better offense. Just poor decision making, and no situational awareness. Couple more losses and it's time to clean out some offices
-
Honest question: why? Do you think it's personnel or Josh just doesn't have it?
-
Anybody NOT out on Dorsey at this point?
-
Honestly they just need to do the same thing they did with Miami and slow down receivers at the line. It's really obvious I don't really understand why they pretty much never do it, especially when facing a team that specializes in defeating zone defense like Cincy

Always Defer. Always.

Wouldn't be mad at also adding donkey Kong. But happy to see this for sure!

The Next Four Leading Into the Bye
Heavy Kevi replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
If anything we know that Josh and this team are massively influenced by bulletin board material and rematches of big losses. So I'm actually in agreement with you on this. I would not be surprised at all to smash Cincy and then lose to Denver or jets again. -
All I read was Daboll needs to get fired and have a reunion in WNY

Why the Bills don't care and neither should you
Heavy Kevi replied to Hermes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not going to pick on you or call you stupid like others here... Honest question though: what have you seen that shows they aren't weak mentally? That's all I've seen for almost a year now. They don't handle adversity, not just not well, they don't handle it at all. Since GB last year it's a different team. You have to have seen that? No swagger. No killer instinct. Playing down to opponents. Josh struggling with easy throws or not making them. I'm actually beginning to think the team is giving up on the coaching as well. Josh is less engaged and less prepared this year than recent years, and seems to be not doing the things he was finally getting good at pre-snap. So I'm in general agreeance, and I posted as such yesterday; that they could go on a run late and have the talent to do so. But 3 losses already, and bad performances against bad teams... They need to pull it together QUICK -
He does suck right now but that's not fair. He's a 70 year old man fresh off a major injury. One of the benefits of Von is this type of thing, and we should get all the value we can out of that contract right now. I'm not exactly expecting a big turnaround this year, but it's possible. These types of meetings can have a catalyst effect at times, and stranger things have happened. My only hope is what if we're like the 07 Giants. They started way worse and most fans were calling for a house cleaning (it was big talk in my hometown as Couglin is from there and his family still lived there). Everyone wrote them off. And then they took down Goliath in the SB and it was glorious. We have the talent. The only thing I'm afraid of is they won that year on the backs of their DL. Ours WAS amazing for awhile but they are banged up now. And it doesn't look like daquan makes it back this year at all. We're gonna have to make it on the backs of Allen and Diggs. They ARE good enough but they have to do it, and quick.

He's coming along nicely. We traditionally don't rely on rookies unless absolutely necessary (elam, benford) and tight ends aren't exactly known for their rookie production. Not to mention Dorsey's offense is disjointed. Even though Dalton didn't get the first down on the 3rd down reception, I liked seeing him really try for it. He seemed to have some rookie moments earlier this year, get mentally rattled, and had been more possession receiver out there. Glad to see him take another step towards being comfortable and having the game slow down a bit for him. He will be a true weapon for Josh and is one of the few players that will survive the roster turnover in the next 2 or so years. The next OC should be adept at utilizing TE or at least slot receivers (where he basically fits right in).

The most likely path forward, top to bottom
Heavy Kevi replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wholly agree with your post. The OP isn't at all what I would prefer... But it's what I think is the most likely given the situation -
Obviously there has been plenty of peril and hot takes, defenses of the team/staff, and basically a severe dressing down of any and all things Bills recently. The narrative has come out of the basement (our TBD safe haven), right into the national media. They love it and revel in seeing the Bills fall apart as they've so routinely gotten to enjoy. But that's not really the point here. This is more of a "next steps forward" thread. I believe I've gazed into a crystal ball and seen the future (ok so not really) but some things are aligning in a way that makes this seem highly plausible to me. The long and short of this "prediction" is this: -Team stays intact this year, and mostly next year. No big time trades or signings. Probably a mid-tier LB or shifty wr5 at the deadline but nothing major. Next year getting under cap will have some casualties. -Coaching stays (mostly) intact through next year. Sean gets his excuse again, and Dorsey is the sacrificial lamb. New oc likely to be promoted from within, or someone Josh is familiar with in one way or the other. -Next year they try one more time to "run it back". The team will again show flashes and have great games, but the old players will lose another step and/or get hurt again. Not sure Tre ever returns, and Von might be ruined, still not sure on that one. They make or miss playoffs but have a hard time winning more than a playoff game or 2. -Then the end of next year comes. It's time. It will be an off-season of attrition. HC gone, along with mostly all of the rest of the coaches. Big time roster turnover. Say goodbye to poyer, Hyde, Tre, von, Stef, Dion, Morse, prob Knox, etc. The priority keeps for the bills new coaching staff will be Allen, Kincaid, Torrence, Bernard, Rousseau, Milano (assuming he comes back into form). -Beane gets a fresh new coaching staff cycle to prove his worth. Despite it's warts, Beane has built a solid roster to win now. He will get benefit of the doubt thanks to injuries and coaching issues (from :13 to zombie like team attitude) -- Why do I think this? Well, the timing is baked in to the contracts and age of the team. For McD, he gets another get out of jail free card with the injury excuse and Dorsey's crappiness. But they also aren't going to want to change up coaching with the personnel we currently have on the roster. After next year, they can move on from big restrictive contracts like Stef and Von, but can't next year due to dead cap. The secondary will probably at least partially retire. Benford the new DB1. I think Beane senses this, and will be reticent to trade future assets unless he believes he is also on the hot seat. This old house needs to get younger and it's going to take a cap correction year to do so. So, in 2025 the team has a new HC and staff. Tons of new players, especially lots of young talent. The team shows renewed energy with the new coach at the helm, and the hype of a Josh Allen resurgence is on the lips of the media, and then.... In 2026 they launch with high expectations, in the NEW stadium, and the cash rolls in. I hate that this could take 3 years, but it feels almost inevitable to me when you weigh the age of the team, the contracts that need to be played out, and the theme of underperformance under McDermott. That's my take for most likely near to intermediate term outcomes, what's yours?
-
Like I've been saying since last year... This team is mentally weak. To me, that's their identity now. They can't handle adversity. Like any adversity at all. And the defense has been gutted with injuries to add on to the offenses woes. They are in a doom loop right now. Self fulfilling prophecy. They are beat before they step out there.

Best non-Bills sports weeknight of the year?

I feel like there's almost no chance, but if I was Beane I'd be offering a 1st and a 3rd/4th to try and get this done. This iteration of our Bills is in it's late stages. There's about to be alot of roster turnover in the next couple years. ALL IN. Push them chips forward and try to get a Lombardi this year. The other superpowers are bolstering their rosters at this position right now too (hardman, Julio). It's an arms race.

Williams looks alot like Tremaine to me. Always around the ball but seemed to be chasing. Just my layman's observation Bernard seemed calmer. Last week after Milano went down I think he was a bit shaken, but a week to prepare seemed to smooth that out for him.
