Who said/wrote that, Cimini? If he can write that and still show his face in the Jets locker room it says more about what the locker room thinks about Wilson than what Cimini thinks about Wilson's play. Reminds me of when a backup LB broke Geno Smith's jaw and nobody stood up for Geno. EDIT: if this was from Francesa it makes far more sense to me - and makes my Geno comparison irrelevant.

Nice! Saw your post when I came here to post the rumor that their looking into a trade for White Sox closer Liam Hendricks. No info on what they'd give up but I assume it would be a White Sox salary dump. https://nypost.com/2022/12/20/mets-interested-in-white-sox-all-star-closer-liam-hendriks/

What I liked best about the broadcast is I don't think they went to commercial at the 2 minute warning. - either that or they came back early.

Snowballs - fair game if aimed at Dolphins bench?

Posted this upthread. Chargers equipment manager got hit in the head. Knocked him over and he ended up unconscious. Video of him falling to the ground is about a minute in. -
The Bills won last night because.... (karma reasons only)

The Squirrel Winter shirt is now 3-0. Also, before the game we started putting ornaments on the tree. Told my son that since the Bills were playing we had to put a Bills ornament on first. Had a hard time finding it and was about to give up when my son informed me it would be my fault if they lost. Persevered, found it, put it on the tree first - Bills win! -

I don't suppose either of you are aware of the time the Chargers equipment manager got hit in the back of the head by a snowball at a Giants game - took a fall and lost consciousness. -

My personal opinion is the Jets will end up being worse off long term if Zach has a good game and they stick with him longer. But living where I do, I'd love to see Zach implode early on Sunday, Flacco come in and be Flacco - and then revel in local sports radio on Monday.

I just hope you don't think I'm a Jets fan. I just happen to live in Jets territory.

Why, when I was knee-high to a grasshopper, this black juice came out on a hard shelled chin. And that called that ‘tobacco juice’. I used to fiddle with my back feet music for a black onyx. My entire room absorbed every echo. The music was… thud like. The music was… thud like. I usually played such things as rough-neck and thug. Opaque melodies that would bug most people.

Yup, that happened two weeks after his big game against Cincy. He played well against us last week IMO - until the pounding we dealt out.
-
I thought he was playing pretty well last week before Oliver and Milano made his acquaintance - on a bad weather day he threw for 268 yards. "Reached the level of his own incompetence" feels like a reach to me. While I get your point about what the Bills did to him after his historic game against Cincy, I just don't get the rush to judgement - it's the easiest thing in the world to predict an NFL QB will never make it.

Fish in Orchard Park - Snow Game ✅
SinceThe70s replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, I love an extreme weather game. But I also love watching high school football and never had any interest in arena leagues. Full disclosure: I'm not a season ticket holder and I totally get why that perspective could differ. -
Liked this not because of the outcome, but because you remembered it. What happened to Edwards was awful - even though it could have been much worse. WRT the Pro Bowl - I'm torn between anything they do has to be better than the the fake game and I probably won't watch anyway.

I wouldn't bet on it either. If the Jets think they are a QB away from being a legit post-season team and that Zach is what's holding them back it wouldn't surprise me at all if they move on. Although in that case I do think they'd aim higher than Heinicke. I don't want to overstate it but I think Sunday is a very big game for Zach. If he starts out slow he will get torched by the fans in attendance. If he plays well and delivers a win he might be able to change the negative narrative.

I think the problems with the Jets this year are two-fold: the team improved at a much faster pace than the QB and the QB lost the locker room. My guess is losing the locker room started last year but culminated with his atrocious game against the Pats and even worse his post-game press conference. At the point he was benched he was 5-2 with wins against the Bills and Dolphins and the losses to the Pats. I doubt the benching had anything to do with their remaining schedule. I'm also curious why you think the Jets needs to properly evaluate Garrett Wilson. Do you think they plan to move on from him after this year? If there's anyone that needs to be evaluated more it's Zach.
-
I'll be disappointed if Alvarez starts the year in AAA. Maybe they carry three catchers to start the year and Alvarez gets at bats at DH and spot starts behind the plate.
-
A friend had an interesting comment: with the rule changes this year base-stealing will be a bigger deal. But I did a quick stat check and it doesn't look like new guy is great at throwing out runners.
-
@ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan Mets just signed a catcher to a two year $15 mil deal. 30 year old, former All Star whose 2022 hitting stats were marginally better than McCann. Esplain it to me. Mentor for Alvarez? McCann to be traded for a bullpen arm?
-
Agreed. I'm not expecting another big move either. If anything I could see salary dumps of McCann or Carrasco - but that's what a normal team would look to do so who knows?

What a hoser!
