This was nirvana for a NFL regular season week, everything went our way. I'm not used to that, but I'm open to more of the same going forward.
-
This was from a time that players not only identified with their team, but with their league too. Innocent times for the players.

The Bills won last night because... (karma reasons only)
SinceThe70s replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
My Squirrel Winter t-shirt arrived on Thursday so you can thank my mailman. -
The only thing I can refute here is that I saw one report saying the Mets weren't given a chance to match. If true he just wanted out of NY - which is his prerogative. Over the summer Cohen made a comment that if Jake left it wouldn't be due to money - maybe he knew then that Jake was a goner. Oh well, onward and upward.

@Gugny @ExWNYer @Another Fan DeGrom's gone! I have mixed emotions on this one. Just felt like he didn't want to be here even though I wanted him back. He had a chance to cement a legacy next to Seaver and that's a big disappointment for me. At the same time, if he signed a 5 year deal with the Mets I would have been terrified. In the end I'm fine with this since he went to a team that idgaf about. Dodgers, Braves or Yankees would have been horrific. Now as @ExWNYer suggested - go get Rodon.

I'm on the fence. I want Josh to be Josh - but I'm not gonna be happy when he has a season ending injury. As far as "It's a statistical fact that most QB's are injured in the pocket." That strikes me as similar to "most car accidents happen within a few miles of your home". Seems like it's statistically inevitable - that's where you spend most of your time driving. Plus most QB's will slide to avoid contact when out of pocket. Josh gets nutty outside the pocket, either initiating/embracing contact or trying to hurdle someone. I love it, but at some point he will end up missing time.

Criticism of McD and coaching has reached insanity level…
SinceThe70s replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Defending McD and acting like he is one of the greatest coaches in the NFL are not the same thing. I've seen a lot of the former, not so much of the latter. -
How do you feel about fortune cookies?
SinceThe70s replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in Off the Wall
My family is sick and tired of me reading the same fortune: "Help! I'm being held captive in a fortune cookie factory." -
Gave this some thought - and failed miserably. But then I realized what interests me more is the unexpected cover. A number of years ago I saw Jack Johnson and I never imagined he'd cover Ramones 'I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend'. Here's another unexpected cover:

No, they can't possibly regret moving on from Geno Smith - it's been 6 years since he played for the Jets, not 6 months. Zach, Flac or Mike Effin White - idgaf - hell, bring back Geno. If we can't beat that team at home with any of those QB's we're not ready for the SB run some of us think is possible.
-
I think the difference is that Josh's problems were on-field and Zach's are both on-field and off-field.
-
It might not last, but Geno is a great comp to Zach. Both lost the Jets locker room - I figured Geno was finished when he got his jaw broken by a no-name guy on defense and nobody else on the Jets seemed to care. And I'm not saying Zach will amount to anything - he's dug himself a pretty deep hole - but the rush to judgement on QBs (good or bad) is ridiculous.
-
I wonder the opposite - whether this is something that's been festering in the locker room and finally boiled over this past Sunday to the point that Saleh could no longer ignore it. There were hints of it last year after White had a big game.
-
I don't think it's disciplinary, I think Saleh was in danger of losing the team if he stuck with Zach after the Pats game and Zach's post-game comments. Plus, can you imagine if Zach got off to a slow start on Sunday? He would have been eaten alive by the home crowd. I don't think they should give up on him, but he needs a timeout. My guess is he'll be back after the jets get another look at White and/or Flacco.

Working all day for a mean little guy With a bad toupee and a soup-stained tie He's got me running 'round the office like a gerbil on a wheel He can tell me what to do, but he can't tell me what to feel Hey Julie, look what they're doing to me Trying to trip me up, trying to wear me down Julie, I swear, it's so hard to bear it And I'd never make it through without you around

I saw this in a HS football game last week - and actually called it as they were lining up. Seemed like a no brainer to me - but I think normal kickoff is from the 40. And of course one size doesn't fit all - have to consider things like the score, how far into the game, etc...

I feel like I have that with the Bills! Have had that with my hockey team (Islanders) the past few years as well and with Cohen around I feel good the Mets are headed in that direction. Good times! (but I still want a championship from someone)
