Maybe life is like a ride on a freeway Dodging bullets while you're trying to find your way Everyone's around, but no one does a damn thing It brings me down, but I won't let them If I seem bleak Well you'd be correct And if I don't speak It's 'cause I can't disconnect But I won't be Burned up by the reflection Of the fire in your eyes As you're staring at the sun

If I had to guess only three or four of those guys will be the same teams week 1 starter in 2023: Pickett, Watson and maybe Willis or Darnold. -
Well played wrt Tua/Dolphins going nowhere. But I'll be surprised if the Jets go into next season with Mike White as the starter. Garoppolo with White as the backup would make sense for them.

Sometimes I like cover versions more than the original. Had never heard of California Man - Cheap Trick version was great, found the orig and didn't like it as much. Good chance I posted this previously but since you mentioned him, here's a Portnoy cover that I like much more than the orig:

My best friend Jimmy lived a few doors down and was a grade or two behind me. By high school we drifted apart. A couple of decades after HS graduation I go to a Mets game and parked in a lot I'd never been to. As I was walking to the stadium I saw a cop with sun glasses directing traffic and ask him the best way out after the game. He stares back at me says nothing and I'm thinking what a douche - until he lifts his glasses and I see that it's Jimmy! Had a great chat for a few minutes and haven't seen him since.

The Bills beat the Bears because.... (karma reasons only)

What's your plan for Cincy? Sticking with white hat first half, red hat second or going full-on red hat or something else? -

The power of Squirrel compels you! The power of Squirrel compels you!! The power of Squirrel compels you!!! Squirrel Winter shirt is now 3-0. On Friday I realized it had not been washed since wearing it to victory against Miami. Taking no chances I did a load of wash to ensure victory on Christmas Eve. -

They were talking about this on WFAN this morning. One of the talking heads claimed that the Raiders sent Jamarcus home with blank DVD's to see if he was really studying. Never heard that one before - looks legit: "The coaches would send Russell home with a game-plan DVD loaded with plays and ideas to study. Suspecting that their bonus-baby quarterback was skipping his homework, the coaches slipped in a blank DVD one day. When Russell returned, he reportedly said the game plan looked good to him." https://www.nfl.com/news/jamarcus-russell-and-the-raiders-blank-dvd-caper-0ap1000000210130

Treatment of opposing team fans(your experience)

LOL - you did read it wrong. Regular jacket. Plus this was the Bledsoe/Coates days not Brady/Gronk and Pats weren't hated nearly as much. -

At the time I laughed it off, but afterward I wondered what if I was wearing a Pats jersey? WTF. -

It's been awhile since the last one, but I've been to a number of Jets/Bills games in New Jersey and never had a problem. Granted I was always with a Jets fan which tempered everything. One time at MetLife I had an old time Jet fan (stranger) to my left. Bills were lining up for a punt and old-timer was losing his mind. Bills punted and as old timer predicted the punt returner was out of position, sprinted up to catch the punt but fumbled. Respect for old timer. Fast forward. Last ditch effort Bills pass falls incomplete. Jets fans going wild. I yell: wait flag! (there was none)! Old timer buys in for a second and when I smile and shake it off he gives me a punch to the arm. We both have a laugh, good times. Why folks treat these games like life and death is beyond me. I was at a Bills/Pats game late 90's at Orchard Park. Had a jacket on over my jersey After I finished up at the trough and turned around the next man up (big dude) pulled my jacket aside to see if it was a Pats jersey. Once he saw the #78 he gave me the nod. I always thought that was incredibly dickish. Didn't make me think he represented all Bills fans.
