Well, everyone has their limit - but I'm not sure we know what Cohen's is yet. In hindsight I wouldn't want or expect Cohen to sign on the dotted line of a 13 year deal, but beyond that none of his actions thus far have hinted at what his limit is. Correa had to settle for a one year deal with the Minnesota Twins last year and for whatever reason didn't appear to be highly sought until the he signed his monster deal - so it wouldn't have surprised me in the least if Cohen would've offered half as much as he got over lets say 4-5 years. BTW, not saying he would've or should've done that, just that I'm in a place where I have no idea what his limit is since he already exceeded my expectation this off season - and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he spent more money to upgrade DH.

I find these long term deals mind-boggling. At some point I wonder if bottom feeders like the Pirates will benefit from young talent coming in and not having a runway to land on.

In the early 80's I was all in on the metal scene. To this day, my trophy show was seeing Metallica play Kill 'Em All front to back in a local bar a week before it came out. They were the opening band and It was jaw dropping. Still love that album. I don't listen to much metal these days but every so often I have to scratch that itch.

LOL, cancel that search- looks like 13 years $350 million was too rich for Cohen.

@ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan You guys got any info/feels on Correa? I had heard on the radio that Correa would only move to 3rd for the Mets and scoffed at it. Tonight my son said that Correa to the Mets is still a talking point. I think he gets his sh!t from bleacher report - does that make it less credible? Seems like a long shot to me - except that many players are getting long term contracts. Put a different way: would you put it past Cohen to pony up the $$$ for Correa in the hope we win the WS in the next two years? (His initial goal was within 3)

Never enough love for early 80's metal on this thread for my taste.

I despise the red on red look, but admit it was a good look in the Colts snow game. I can recall posts suggesting that Kim Pegula was a big fan of red on red in the the snow. No clue if that had any legs. Also haven't heard anything in awhile about whatever health issues she's been going through. But if the two things are related in anyway I am fully on board with the red on red regardless whether it snows on Saturday.

There was speculation dating back to when White played last year that Wilson might have lost the locker room. Nothing concrete that I knew of except for RB Ty Johnson's quote. I never put too much stock in it, thought it was just radio guys stirring the pot. After what's transpired this year I'm not so sure. This quote is from 2021: “It’s Mike f’ing White. He’s a savage, he’s a dog, he’s an animal,” Ty Johnson, earner of 86 yards and the aforementioned score, added. “I said it on Monday, and I’ll say it again. I’m going to keep saying it, he’s a dog, he’s an animal. Let’s keep it like that.” (https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/11/01/ny-jets-mike-white-savage/)

I'm not used to getting everything we need - they filled out that rotation quickly! If this guy pans out it's a great deal, especially since we got younger. Hopefully in the next year or so we're rotating in some combination of Alvarez/Baty/Vientos and rotating out guys like Escobar/Canha/McCann. What's crazy to me is the length of contracts being given out. I suppose it gives teams cost certainty, but it seems like more often than not the long term deals become albatrosses.

The Bills won yesterday because.... (karma reasons only)

Last game my Squirrel Winter shirt arrived on game day and we won. Yesterday I wore it and we won again. All hail the snow-clearing rodent! -
I thought 10-3 would feel better...

I'm not real sure that there are many Bills fans with the adorable outlook you project on them. I can only speak for myself but I can be happy with the win today but still understand that we will have to play better in the post season to get where we want to go. Stacking regular season wins and sitting atop the AFC while not playing as well as I think we're capable of gives me hope - perhaps you find that adorable as well. But if you don't think we can/will run the ball or protect the QB and you're still watching the games, that's kind of adorable too. -
I always found Romo annoying but was able to look past it due to the insight he brought. Manningcast is a novelty for me. I'll tune in if I don't care about the game, it can be amusing but I have no doubt I'll grow tired of it. The celebrities can be entertaining - as long as they don't comment on the game action.

Coming soon to an NFL game near you: "15 yard penalty for tackling the QB".

I'm 100% with you on all of that! We're all disappointed that the dominance we saw early this season is gone and it's hard to see it coming back this year. But the 'we suck' threads - win or lose - are ridiculous.
-
In 2022 I expect the Bills to win - dominant or not. In 2019 I hoped the Bills would win and had no expectation of dominance. As an aside, it's nice to be lumped in with the younger generation regardless what you think of my reading comprehension.

...or had a 4 game win streak - which this team has accomplished twice already. Surprised that OP would double-down on the comparison.

Thanks for the details - Citi Field probably just got lucky with the reconfiguration. But it is cool as hell to walk into a game and be able to stand in the spot that the ball went past Buckner or the spot that I saw Seaver throw countless gems. Pretty much every time I do it I have to wait for someone taking a picture.

Coaching Success as Measured by Average Depth of Playoff Run
SinceThe70s replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I could not agree more with the bolded. I always used Elway to try to make a similar point- he didn't suddenly become great because he won a SB, he was great all along IMO. Also JMO, but Lafleur might be the opposite side of the spectrum - his success may be due more to Rodgers. Kind of like when Switzer inherited Jimmy Johnson's Cowboys. -
