  1. I just hope you don't think I'm a Jets fan. I just happen to live in Jets territory.
  2. Why, when I was knee-high to a grasshopper, this black juice came out on a hard shelled chin. And that called that ‘tobacco juice’. I used to fiddle with my back feet music for a black onyx. My entire room absorbed every echo. The music was… thud like. The music was… thud like. I usually played such things as rough-neck and thug. Opaque melodies that would bug most people.
  3. Yup, that happened two weeks after his big game against Cincy. He played well against us last week IMO - until the pounding we dealt out.
  4. I thought he was playing pretty well last week before Oliver and Milano made his acquaintance - on a bad weather day he threw for 268 yards. "Reached the level of his own incompetence" feels like a reach to me. While I get your point about what the Bills did to him after his historic game against Cincy, I just don't get the rush to judgement - it's the easiest thing in the world to predict an NFL QB will never make it.
  5. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, I love an extreme weather game. But I also love watching high school football and never had any interest in arena leagues. Full disclosure: I'm not a season ticket holder and I totally get why that perspective could differ.
  6. Liked this not because of the outcome, but because you remembered it. What happened to Edwards was awful - even though it could have been much worse. WRT the Pro Bowl - I'm torn between anything they do has to be better than the the fake game and I probably won't watch anyway.
  7. No one understands the heartache No one feels the pain No one ever sees the tears When you're crying in the rain
  8. I wouldn't bet on it either. If the Jets think they are a QB away from being a legit post-season team and that Zach is what's holding them back it wouldn't surprise me at all if they move on. Although in that case I do think they'd aim higher than Heinicke. I don't want to overstate it but I think Sunday is a very big game for Zach. If he starts out slow he will get torched by the fans in attendance. If he plays well and delivers a win he might be able to change the negative narrative.
  9. I think the problems with the Jets this year are two-fold: the team improved at a much faster pace than the QB and the QB lost the locker room. My guess is losing the locker room started last year but culminated with his atrocious game against the Pats and even worse his post-game press conference. At the point he was benched he was 5-2 with wins against the Bills and Dolphins and the losses to the Pats. I doubt the benching had anything to do with their remaining schedule. I'm also curious why you think the Jets needs to properly evaluate Garrett Wilson. Do you think they plan to move on from him after this year? If there's anyone that needs to be evaluated more it's Zach.
  10. I'll be disappointed if Alvarez starts the year in AAA. Maybe they carry three catchers to start the year and Alvarez gets at bats at DH and spot starts behind the plate.
  11. A friend had an interesting comment: with the rule changes this year base-stealing will be a bigger deal. But I did a quick stat check and it doesn't look like new guy is great at throwing out runners.
  12. @ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan Mets just signed a catcher to a two year $15 mil deal. 30 year old, former All Star whose 2022 hitting stats were marginally better than McCann. Esplain it to me. Mentor for Alvarez? McCann to be traded for a bullpen arm?
  13. Agreed. I'm not expecting another big move either. If anything I could see salary dumps of McCann or Carrasco - but that's what a normal team would look to do so who knows?
  14. What a hoser!
  15. Well, everyone has their limit - but I'm not sure we know what Cohen's is yet. In hindsight I wouldn't want or expect Cohen to sign on the dotted line of a 13 year deal, but beyond that none of his actions thus far have hinted at what his limit is. Correa had to settle for a one year deal with the Minnesota Twins last year and for whatever reason didn't appear to be highly sought until the he signed his monster deal - so it wouldn't have surprised me in the least if Cohen would've offered half as much as he got over lets say 4-5 years. BTW, not saying he would've or should've done that, just that I'm in a place where I have no idea what his limit is since he already exceeded my expectation this off season - and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he spent more money to upgrade DH.
  16. I find these long term deals mind-boggling. At some point I wonder if bottom feeders like the Pirates will benefit from young talent coming in and not having a runway to land on.
  17. In the early 80's I was all in on the metal scene. To this day, my trophy show was seeing Metallica play Kill 'Em All front to back in a local bar a week before it came out. They were the opening band and It was jaw dropping. Still love that album. I don't listen to much metal these days but every so often I have to scratch that itch.
  18. LOL, cancel that search- looks like 13 years $350 million was too rich for Cohen.
  19. @ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan You guys got any info/feels on Correa? I had heard on the radio that Correa would only move to 3rd for the Mets and scoffed at it. Tonight my son said that Correa to the Mets is still a talking point. I think he gets his sh!t from bleacher report - does that make it less credible? Seems like a long shot to me - except that many players are getting long term contracts. Put a different way: would you put it past Cohen to pony up the $$$ for Correa in the hope we win the WS in the next two years? (His initial goal was within 3)
  20. Never enough love for early 80's metal on this thread for my taste.

  22. I despise the red on red look, but admit it was a good look in the Colts snow game. I can recall posts suggesting that Kim Pegula was a big fan of red on red in the the snow. No clue if that had any legs. Also haven't heard anything in awhile about whatever health issues she's been going through. But if the two things are related in anyway I am fully on board with the red on red regardless whether it snows on Saturday.
  23. There was speculation dating back to when White played last year that Wilson might have lost the locker room. Nothing concrete that I knew of except for RB Ty Johnson's quote. I never put too much stock in it, thought it was just radio guys stirring the pot. After what's transpired this year I'm not so sure. This quote is from 2021: “It’s Mike f’ing White. He’s a savage, he’s a dog, he’s an animal,” Ty Johnson, earner of 86 yards and the aforementioned score, added. “I said it on Monday, and I’ll say it again. I’m going to keep saying it, he’s a dog, he’s an animal. Let’s keep it like that.” (https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/11/01/ny-jets-mike-white-savage/)
  24. I'm not used to getting everything we need - they filled out that rotation quickly! If this guy pans out it's a great deal, especially since we got younger. Hopefully in the next year or so we're rotating in some combination of Alvarez/Baty/Vientos and rotating out guys like Escobar/Canha/McCann. What's crazy to me is the length of contracts being given out. I suppose it gives teams cost certainty, but it seems like more often than not the long term deals become albatrosses.
