  1. So I wrote a song for you, baby girl And I hope when I return home The locks ain't changed on the doors And there's still a spot for me On that big ol' California king size bed
  2. Goldfinger Rage Against the Machine Sublime Everclear
  3. Hope it goes as well for the Jets as it did for his father: https://nypost.com/2002/01/01/vinny-blames-it-on-hackett-coach-admits-he-miscalculated/
  4. Nickelback always got a lot of online derision but they had a couple of great songs - this being one of them.
  5. No disagreement - if my post implied the others shouldn't have been unanimous it was unintended.
  6. Not the greatest player, the most consistently dominant. He rarely had an off day - even late in his career.
  7. No doubt on Rivera, there's always one jack@ss. Rivera is the most dominant baseball player I've ever seen.
  8. Have to admit Gamble's hair was fabulous! Always wondered how the baseball cap stayed on his head. And yeah I get the importance of stats, I don't dismiss them. I think my point is that if I subjectively think a guy is Hall worthy the stats are usually there to back it up. Yadier may be an exception. There was another guy who to me was a no-brainer - I think it was Bruce Sutter - and someone shredded his Hall worthiness based on stats. That sums it up for me pretty well for me. I will say that when it became a hitters game and everyone started hitting tons of HR's it became harder for me to distinguish the very good from the great. Personally I would not have voted for Bagwell.
  9. No doubt Rolen was a great player. I tend to be a bit harsh when it comes to the HOF and as I mentioned I don't look closely at the stats. If I need stats to justify a player then they probably aren't worthy of the Hall in my book. I also don't like the argument that since so-and-so got in then this guy should too. From what I understand (he was before my time) Maseroski is the poster child for that argument - a guy that probably isn't Hall worthy. Let's not lower the standards based on past mistakes. As for Arenado, he needs more time but to me he's on the path to the HOF. What's your thoughts on Yadier Molina? I think he's a no brainer but a few years ago someone on this board laughed at me when I mentioned that. Curious what others think.
  10. When it comes to the HOF I don't get hung up on stats, I just go by the eye test. Rolen doesn't pass it for me. Jones probably does. Possibly the best defensive CF of his time - I can't remember seeing anyone that played as shallow as he did. As I recall he got better at the plate over the years, but his hitting alone would never get him into the HOF
  11. I don't disagree with any of this and I come here daily to see what tough decisions folks think should be made - some I agree with, some I don't and some go into my I'm not sure category. But I'll stand by how I described the 'they aren't allowed to' comment. It adds no substance IMO.
  12. Just curious, what does the bolded mean to you? If 'they aren't allowed' what's the consequence? Will you stop watching? Hold your breath until your blue in the face? Or is it less personal and 'they' will all be shown the door or face imprisonment or a firing squad? If 'they aren't allowed' there must be some inherent consequence in your mind. What is it? We're all upset with how the season ended - it effen sucked! - but some of the hyperbole here is a cross between comical and childish.
  13. IMO, the way he pointed it out was classless. I'm not easily offended - and if you or anyone else isn't offended by that one tweet, I'm OK with that, we all have our boundaries. But for me, he stepped over a line.
  14. Rolen makes it in? Yeesh. Feels like a guy who made it in because guys like Manny and ARod won't. I'd put the careers of Helton and Beltran ahead of Rolen. And both of those are borderline.
  15. It's a classless shot at the Damar incident. The heart shaped hands has been used by Damar and others, most recently by Damar at the stadium on Sunday. I could care less about everything else he tweeted but that crossed the line for me.
  16. And I see lonely ships upon the water Better save the women and children first
  17. I know, it was aggravating to watch. Whether it's players or scheme I'd like to see Josh under less duress.
  18. I'd go with protection over weapons. Great QBs make average weapons look better if they have the time. I always think of Deion Branch's 11 catches in the SB.
  19. And that would have solved losing the battle on both sides of the line all day? C'mon man.
  20. Wrong-o Keebler. We got outplayed on both sides of the line, had nothing to do with the weather.
  21. I think all of this with Diggs is probably overblown - but I have to take exception to the idea that a leader of men would beat feet out of the locker room ahead of the men he is purportedly leading.
  22. What if we had Von?
  23. I was thinking something similar. For me I think it comes down to expectations. Nothing short of a SB appearance was gonna be satisfying to me this year. As the season wore on and it became more and more apparent that the injuries and warts (I'm looking at you OL) we're going to be hard to overcome and I could feel it slipping away.
  24. Isn't the opposite equally true?
  25. And a new day will dawn For those who stand long And the forests will echo with laughter
