  1. For many years I was of the opinion that extended warranties were a sucker play. Now I feel like they're almost a necessity. Why? My parents had appliances that lasted for decades. The appliances I purchase often have issues within 5 years and sometimes issues recur in spite of repairs within warranty. As mentioned in another thread I recently purchased a used car for the first time ever and opted for a third party warranty so it goes beyond appliances Interested to hear how others approach the decision to pay for an extended warranty.
  2. I was thinking the opposite. Momma Momma we're all crazy now!
  3. I want the things that I had before Like a Star Wars poster on my bedroom door I wish I could count to ten Make everything be wonderful again
  4. I remember Kevin's early career roaming the stands at Citi - you could tell he was a good one, usually had something interesting to say and had a very engaging delivery. One of those people you come across in life that when they start telling a story you want to hear what they have to say. Amazing that he's the lead for the SB this year.
  5. @Gugny @ExWNYer @Another Fan Today I learned that the Mets are running a Super Bowl commercial in the local market https://risingapple.com/posts/ny-mets-super-bowl-commercial-watch
  6. Couldn't just 'Awesome' this post as it would only speak to your awesome outcome and overlook the 'Sad' that it happened and 'Thanks' for sharing your story. Love the bonus time comment - enjoy every moment, we all should regardless of circumstance. WRT Jessica's post, it brought tears to my eyes and I wish the entire Pegula family all the best.
  7. I stumbled across @May Day 10's post this morning. They're playing at a quirky venue near me June 24, I'll be there. Looks like Neal Francis is the opener, not familiar with him, would have preferred Belew EDIT: it'll be full-on quirky. Theater in the round with a rotatlng stage. Sometimes performances are half-round, no rotate, but not this one. Overall I'm not a fan of the rotating stage, it can have it's moments but mostly it's weird.
  8. They played Animals a few years ago. I didn't see the show but the recording was stunning.
  9. One life, I'm gonna live it up I'm takin' flight, I said, I'll never get enough Stand tall, I'm young and kinda proud I'm on the top as long as the music's loud
  10. Can Burrow leap tall buildings defenders in a single bound? Has he punished defenders trying to tackle him? Can he make the off-platform throws as effortlessly and accurately as Josh? And none of my comments should be interpreted as a slight to Burrow. I would like to understand your cahones comment better. I'd put Josh far ahead of any other QB in the league in that department - albeit something Josh needs to dial back.
  11. I disagree that we are only winning because of Josh. But I do think we are considered to be an elite team (at least outside of this board) in large part due to him. That's pretty much life in the NFL. I disagree that Burrow and Josh have the same abilities. Josh can do things that Burrow is physically incapable of. Burrow does things that either Josh can't or won't - not sure whether that's on Josh or the coaches - coaches have been the popular choice lately.
  12. If you are "not sure our GM or coach has what it takes to surround Josh with enough talent to win" how can you state definitively that "We are basically wasting him"?
  13. Do you mean that you don't do polls or folks shouldn't post polls? I didn't vote on this one. Choices appear to be biased towards one point of view. I assume those that think Josh isn't capable of winning a SB are the usual trolls. Probably same with the low percentage drought-truthers.

  19. The backstory to that (free) performance is great: https://hmmagazine.com/rage-against-the-machine-live-at-finsbury-park/ "In 2005, a man named Shayne Ward won the second season of The X Factor, the U.K. equivalent of American Idol, and his rise to fame would also include grabbing the Christmas number one with “That’s My Goal.” It would turn out to be the first of four straight years of X Factor singles winning the popular tradition. But in 2009, an English DJ and his wife, Jon and Tracy Morter, had had enough and created a campaign to make the anthem “Killing in the Name” the Christmas number one, an effort to break the streak. The band supported the cause, promising a free concert if the campaign was successful, and — quite literally against all odds — the band’s single outsold X Factor winner Joe McElderry’s version of Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb,” selling 502,672 copies to McElderry’s 450,838. Live at Finsbury Park is that free concert. The band would even go on to donate 100% of the profits of the sale of “Killing in the Name” to the homeless humanitarian effort, Shelter, presenting a six-figure check to the nonprofit during the show."

  21. LOL - first time I saw Ozzy was in '81 - with Randy Rhoads. Great show, opener was Def Leppard and second band was Joe Perry Project. Getting old indeed.
  22. You think you got the interest Come on and take the time 'Cause you know I wanna be Yours in a simple rhyme
  23. I'm a parasite (nite klub) I creep about at night (nite klub) Yes, I'm a member of the Nite Klub A fully paid-up member of the Nite Klub is this the in place to be? (Nite klub) what am I doing here? (Nite klub) watching the girls go by, spending money on beer
  24. I agree that the mechanics of the process are always the same so it's not a big deal in most games because teams generally don't butt up against the buffer regularly. But in the Miami game it felt like it happened all game and I thought the refs should have called it a little tighter after it kept recurring - similar to what they'll sometimes do when players start getting chippy.
  25. The album as a whole is pretty good. Not my go to music at all, but for whatever reason it worked for me.
