This is a great point. Last year (until the end of the season) the news on Josh was "make him be a QB" and stay in the pocket. I remember new england giving him the Lamar treatment. Basically just forming a shell around the pocket and just standing there to make sure he didn't run.

I just hope that Diggs stays out of his own head with the contact and grabbing. The refs are not going to call PI and defensive holding on the patriots in Foxborough. Not going to happen. So he needs to block out the noise, work through the contact, and focus on the contested catches. When he starts getting frustrated, he seems to get too involved with the pushing and shoving and loses some focus.

A Few Thoughts about the Panthers Game, in no particular order

#6 - On Gilmore, we also saw the 'Gilmore Glance' on the 2nd TD by Gabe. He looked back behind him as Davis strolled into the endzone. He was fooled because it was an awesome play, but it was his responsibility from what I could see. That's the Gilmore Glance. -
Well we did get 2 sacks from f'n Efa Obada this week. And Carlos only has 4.5 sacks this year despite a 2yr- 13Mil contract. Not saying that he couldn't help us, but I think we have similar talent in Oliver and to a lessor extent, Harrison.

Covid may decide who wins the AFC east

Last year it was a strength (along with 3rd down conversions) and we won 13 games. We took a step back in both areas this year. It's not a surprise that we are struggling to put wins together (except the blowouts) when you fall short in those two areas. That needs to change this week and in the playoffs, or we will be in the same boat: competitive games, but no cigar.

Should Davis start over Sanders going forward?

I think so. That was as of this weekend, so maybe these guys were showing symptoms or something. But who says if they are 'showing symptoms' or not? The team? Or an independant 3rd party? Just looking for a conspiracy angle here....

I like Gabe because of the deception factor, plus he is a clutch receiver. He's a really good blocking WR, so a run is possible. But when Sanders is in there, he is not a good blocker, and even when we try to run with him in the game, there is probably a free defender running around not being blocked. Rewatch how Gabe engages the CB in the Carolina game. Then they fake him blocking, and he's wide open for his 2nd TD. Little things like this can also help our running game get from abysmal to mediocre. -
The Ford Report - Week 15, Panthers v. Bills, 12/19/21

Haha....McD gave him an earful after that one. He's young, he'll learn. This will be a big offseason for him coming up. -

A Spencer Brown report may break the internet. The guy had 5 penalties and drank a beer while getting beat like a drum. -
Spencer Brown could be a disaster, but I agree. You can't put Bates on the blindside unless it's an emergency. And I don't think you trust Doyle yet, either.

Captain Caveman is this week's Nostradamus of the Game...

Loved the snow shovel celebration: -
His college highlights show his extra gear. Hope he finds it in the NFL. Him working out of the slot on a slant looks deadly.
-
My thoughts too. Looks like he's never even seen a kickoff before. Maybe getting him involved in the passing game may give him some more confidence. So far, his reported speed isn't really showing.
-
Ouch. That's a game changer from the first snap if he recognizes it and makes a good throw. It's almost worth running the same play again in the next game or two and see if its there again.

Gabe Davis deserves his own thread

Sanders went out with a knee injury, so that may finish his season. Davis has earned his stripes so far in his first 30 games. -

What happens in today's game that are "small wins" for the Bills?
Captain_Quint replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Josh needs to show us something. It's going to be a 4man rush and they will probably give our line some problems. I want to see Josh finding quick holes in the zone, not just run around and chuck it.
