Shaq Lawson on the way (now reportedly signed to practice squad)
Captain_Quint replied to IBTG81's topic in The Stadium Wall
And they all come back and PRAISE the McD and Beane culture....which seems to be a requirement to bring them back. I know its happens on other teams, but it sure seems to happen more here with players who are 30+ and can't stick anywhere else. -
Will Josh Allen want to stick around for a rebuild?
Captain_Quint replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think about if they start having kids, too. Josh is very family oriented and will probably want to be around family for that. Alot can change when it comes to women and children. But on the other side of the coin, Josh is a competitor like we've never seen before. He's loyal like a golden retriever and I could also see him making it a point to never leave Buffalo because he started here and has always said he wasnt leaving. It's an interesting thing to consider. Things can change, man. There's alot of ins and outs and what have you. -
Will Josh Allen want to stick around for a rebuild?
Captain_Quint replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's saying that Josh might leave for LA and replace Stafford instead of sticking around for a rebuild here since his family and wife are in California. -
Is watching the Bills fun for you these days?
Captain_Quint replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
This team is boring. Even though the game was close last night, I just wanted it to end. It's ashame that we wasted a Josh Allen year with this pile of garbage. Realistically, what do have, 5 more years left? Hopefully there is a big shakeup at the end of the year with McD, Beane, whoever, because we need new blood in here. McDermotts clear glasses arent cutting it. -

Josh said that it took until the 3rd possession for them to pivot, and you could see the game shift at that point. Thankfully it didnt take until after halftime, or else the game probably would have been out of hand.

105 KO return yards for Davis yesterday on 4 returns. Ty Johnson 2 receptions for 61yds and a TD, bringing back the big play ability he showed last year. Cook getting involved in the pass game for a TD, even though he was stuffed early in the run game. And Josh with 3 rushing TDs. Good game for the horses. The wheel routes were open all day (for the Bucs, too). As the weather gets colder and playoffs approach, these guys need to be a big part of the gameplan.

Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things, and why we need it
Captain_Quint replied to Ray Stonada's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our gameplan today was to pass once we saw how crowded Bowles had the LOS. He wanted to take Cook and the WR screen out of our playbook and see if Josh still had enough to beat up his poor secondary, which he did. Josh also looked great running the ball yesterday for the first time in awhile. Decisive and potent, and it broke their defense by the 4th qtr. -
It was pretty obvious that Bowles set out to stop the quick pass to Shakir and stop Cook from rushing. And it worked up until the end when Cook started finding some room. But that was because the passing game opened it up for him as the game progressed.

If Beane whiffed this bad on Elam and Coleman, he needs to be shown the door too. That's a long track record if you throw in Cody Ford, Boogie, etc.

Week 11, Bucs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
Captain_Quint replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Josh and the Oline has heard enough this week about how bad they have played from the talking heads and coaches. I expect us to control the LOS and roll with Cook leading the way. 32-21 Bills -
4th and 1: fake tush push into pass play
Captain_Quint replied to SunDSolar's topic in The Stadium Wall
This was infuriating.... in what world do you call that crap twice in a a row with our dominant oline? After McDaniels snuffed it out and called a TO, you line up big and push it for a 3yd gain. -
That sentence right there. I've had that feeling since the Bernard signing, and Rousseau. The defensive side in general. The staff values the wrong things, and the scheme has long been figured out.

I had other things going on, and didnt watch the game. First time in a long time that I didnt watch it live or at least delayed. I started watching it at like 730 last night and turned it off after the 1st qtr. Terrible preparation for a divisional opponent. McD set the tone on the first drive punting on 4th and a foot with the best power running game in the league.

Going to the game in Miami this Sunday - Suggestions?
Captain_Quint replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I was at the heat game a couple years ago, and from the club seats in the shade, it was like watching a blue and red turkey roasting in the oven. The sunburns after the game were intense. I was drinking vodka/cranberry in the corner club all day, or I would have been roasted too. -

Ft Lauderdale Embassy Suites is a great Bills hotel. It was like, 4-1 Bills fans vs fins fans. Kind of old, but a great place to stay thats close to everything. I've stayed at the Courtyard right across Las Olmas Beach and that's a 2 min walk to Elbo room and all the rest. -
Dorian Williams in the Hoecht/Lorax role?
Captain_Quint replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Remember how good Klein looked a few years ago towards the end of the season when we had him in this role? He looked 5 years younger since all he had to do was react and rush through an assigned gap. -
Let's take a second to appreciate James Cook
Captain_Quint replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall
His college career, while solid, didnt really showcase his talents like other stud RBs. He finished his senior year 2nd on the team with 728 yards. The talent was there in spurts, but it really wasnt until his 2nd or 3rd yr in the NFL that he broke out and became the threat that he is today. Good job by Beane to take him in the 2nd, then build a running game around him, and then resign him. He's definitely worth it. -
