This is the way of McDermotts defense and has been for a long time. 1st drive, we play base, vanilla defense and then slowly adjust. But it leads to a gimme on the first drive alot of times (good teams and bad). It's frustrating watching it over and over each week, but in the long haul, it seems to work pretty often, too.

Our first look at Crayonz...

I've never liked The Athletic. Fire McD and Beane and bring in someone who knows how to win a SuperBowl! Accountability for Elam. Cody Ford something something. Whyd we trade Teller???

I just don't understand why they can't fix the 3rd down issues. If they are going to make it to a Super Bowl, it has to happen. At this point, just do the opposite of whatever Babich or McD is feeling and see what happens. I don't have the answers for what needs to happen. So many times there is no pressure. Other times, they send a blitz that doesn't get home and gets swallowed up by the line. More than any other issue, I think this has to be fixed to get to that final pinnacle of a Super Bowl. Otherwise, it will keep coming down to a roll of the dice if we ever get there with this crew.

I want both teams to finish 8-9 or 9-8.........FOREVER!

Not to mention that 38-0 drubbing by the Bears in the preseason. That will come back to haunt us, mark my words....

Same thing. Had to watch on my other TV. Not sure why it happened or what caused it, but the TV in the other room worked fine.

I think it was 2nd and 14 and Sanders had a great tackle for no gain in the middle. That was the only time I noticed him but it was a good stop in space after shedding his block.

The backup DB that was signed was Larry Lime, not Cleo Lemon. But Lime was waived a couple of weeks ago.

I think it was the Moore run this week that I noticed Kincaid drive his guy right off the screen.

Each year recently there is some sort of midseason slump. Which is fine as long as they are back up to a high level by playoff time.

I said it twice today until I looked it up.

Dolphins are garbage. The Bills are far from garbage. Bills win big at home.

After rewatching the game, if I'm Harbaugh there, you call time out and find a play where you throw it to Mark Andrews. Redemption for last year, and not a top offensive option anymore so a good chance he works himself open.

I have to admit that I enjoyed hearing that #70 is reporting as eligible. That always meant that the beef was coming. But having he and Hawes to choose from is a nice wrinkle for the offense.

I almost feel like he was playing it wrong at first. He crashed towards the middle and Jackson just strolled past. Not sure if that's what the coaches had him do or not. It was a glaring couple of mistakes even for the casual observer. He did it about 3 times, and then right before halftime corrected it. After that he was fine.

I know Anderson was hurt this preseason, so maybe they are mixing Hawes in for that reason. He is also listed as the first backup for both guard spots and center, so maybe they want to reduce the wear on him. But a TE like Hawes makes more sense. I kept waiting on Anderson to catch a wide open TD last year, but it never happened. Using a TE will keep the defense more honest than Anderson, and Hawes seems to just as good at blocking.

Nice to see KC lose, but they just look rusty (which is how we will probably look at times tomorrow). But its fun to watch all the miscues and bad routes. Week 1 is like jumping into the tub to see how the water is.

Looks like Jaire Alexander came back to practice for them today after almost a month. So injuries on both sides early in the year.

Better than a roster of jag-offs, like most of the teams that we beat up regularly.
