  1. If you can't see a top quality roster being built here then you are just too dug into negativity to even try. Try and take a couple of moments to give these guys a fair shot. Look at how young our team is. Look at how some of these guys are progressing. Yesterday was a glimpse of what some of these guys can become. Zay Jones was freaking fantastic. He's a second year guy who is on track to be a force year 3 (kind like Moulds did). Growing pain sucks but try and see the development of the young guys. If you want to find any negative from yesterday it's what the win did to our draft position. Personally I'll take the team winning every time, I like the young guys getting a taste of victory.
  2. Yeah but King Kong's hand eye coordination was suspect especially when you consider how bad he was at swatting those planes
  3. After we are done discussing this I'd love to hear people's thoughts on who people think would win between King Kong and Godzilla in ping pong.
  4. I'd tank the season just like the Bills are doing. Remember there is always next year
  5. By far the biggest issue is a WR corp that can't get any separation. Upgrades there will make every other part of the offensive look better.
  6. I'm saying that they are willing to tank this year, but they are still trying. As long as the owners have bought in to the plan then it's ok. You can clearly see that McD is not enjoying losing and the offensive struggles. I'm not enjoying it either but I'm expecting to a lot happier next year with some new talent and serious improvements. Like I said earlier though 2019 will be better but 2020 we'll be dominant.
  7. I hate to point out that our defense clearly is not the problem so I won't go into the defensive players you listed except to say that Dareus was more disruptive off the field. Watkins was always injured and was openly stating that he was looking for massive money on his next contract. The Rams didn't see the value of keeping him either so they seemed to agree with us and no one is trashing them. I would have gone with Woods as my example. This year was always a tank year, let Allen learn. The playoff drought is behind us, I can be a little patient and let the plan work.
  8. Thank you. That was a very popular opinion on this site earlier this season. Strange now that so many are pretending that never happened. The calls of why did they get rid of Tyrod are growing too. This is a very young team, take it from a guy who remembers the building of the Super Bowl team there are a lot of similarities going on here. We'll be better next year, and dominant in 2020 if we stay the course.
  9. Who was dumped that should have been kept?
  10. It's wearisome listening to all the negativity on this site. It used to be a great place for meaningful dialog but it's sadly turning into a place where people overreact and make overly critical statements but never a solution. So I would really appreciate hearing specifically what would you have done differently this season considering our cap situation.
  11. Or is it that they are just the Browns being the Browns pretending to be the Raiders.
  12. That's really got to suck. They let you suffer through 2 years of no real talent, then they bring in talent plus a rookie qb and you're out in half a season. I would have given him the full year.
  13. It's the lack of effort that gets me. He never seems to fight for the ball. He just stands there and waits, if it comes it comes, if not he still gets paid. He's not fitting in to the culture, time for him to go.
  14. This is a good article on the pros and cons of where the OC should call the game. However I do want to point out it's not detailed enough to include sucking down beers or eating hot dogs ? https://www.sbnation.com/2016/11/23/13730592/2016-nfl-season-falcons-chargers-eagles-coaches-kyle-shanahan
  15. Rookie QB and Nathan Peterman as your backup. Easily one of the worst WR units in the league. KB has a terrible work ethic. If you can ignore all that then sure Daboll deserves all the blame.
  16. Wide receiver is easily our biggest need. OL is a need but if we had receivers that can get separation then job gets simpler for the OL
  17. I've seen Rex clap and clench his fist after a good play and I've also noticed McD do the exact same thing. Clearly the ghost of Rex lingers (despite the fact that we just had a game winning 4th quarter drive ?)
  18. I think you are way off. You edited my post in your reply and then commented on it My complete original post said: Woods was good here in Buffalo and Goodwin was injured a lot. Plus you have to remember we've been doing the ground and pound thing in recent years Your edited version of my post said: Woods was good here in Buffalo and Goodwin was injured a lot... You cut out the ground and pound part of what I posted and said that I was way off and they should have thrown them the ball more. That is ridiculous. To go back to my original post Woods was good here, and Goodwin was injured a lot (https://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/marquise-goodwin/7666). Those are the facts. The ground and pound offense means the passing game statistics suffer at the expense of the run game. Woods was clutch when he was here and people knew it. We just couldn't afford to keep him. Thankfully Beane is fixing the salary cap issue so going forward we'll be competitive with free agents.

  20. Tennessee is the best red zone d in the league. Teams get a red zone TD on them less than 25% of the time. That stat is from playing the Dolphins (when they were good), the Texans, the Jags (who mauled the Pats ) and the Eagles. I'd say our team with a rookie qb, an OL that's suspect but improving, and receivers that would have hard time starting elsewhere, did pretty good when you look at the stats.
  21. The team is clearly in rebuild mode. I think that we need to evaluate that when looking at rankings. I'm more focused on whether we are improving or not. We've won 2 out of our last 3. Beaten 2 playoff teams from last year, one on the road (in a very hostile environment) and we have a 4th quarter comeback. Before McD got here how many times can we say that especially with a rookie qb and against a top 10 defense.
  22. Thanks for putting this together. Generally when there's a long post I never finish it, but you laid out a logical and solid case. I totally agree with you. At the stage the Bills are at in the process there will be more struggles that you'd like but that's how you build in this league. I'd also draw the comparison with Aikman's rookie year and stats. We've won 2 and lost 3 with a really tough early schedule. The team is heading in the right direction finally.
  23. I'd rather use the 2nd and 3rd round picks on WR or QB help. Stats do not tell the full story and can be misleading, take for example the Holmes interception yesterday.
  24. His roll in the Kiko trade was just to answer the phone. Chip Kelly wanted his Kiko back and wanted to get rid of Shady. Clearly we have different opinions on the man. I see him as average but there seemed to be internal friction issues around him and Marrone that seemed to hold the team back.
