  1. The last time I responded to a post like this one I ended up with a warning for abusive behavior (which I may have deserved). I was just giving my honest advice to someone who claimed to be be a fan but held a similar negative and and depressing outlook on things. So my reaction to your long post will be softer. I ask you to go back through your post (which was very long so you must truly care) and ask yourself the following questions: 1. Which of these decisions were Beane and McD responsible for 2. Would it have been prudent or possible to resign any of these players 3. Were any of these players that are still on the roster better on 2018 than 2017 4. Were there any positive player moves (hint: Getting a 3rd for Tyrod) that you are neglecting to consider Hopefully you will find that more moves made by Beane have been positive rather than negative. I'm hoping that you will see like most folks on this site that a huge cleanup job was performed last year in addition to solidifying our QB situation. 2019 will be a year where essential elements are added to the team and 2020 we're back and no longer an afterthought on the NFL Network.
  2. Colin Cowherd is generally reliably wrong. As long as I hear it's from him via a trusted source I keep calm and carry on. You know what they say "even a broken clock is right twice a day" but I'm not convinced the same can be said about Colin Cowherd ?
  3. Not to burst anyone's bubble, especially when that bubble leads to a photo like that of Mrs Wilson, but the original source of all this is Colin Cowherd. If it was Jim Rome and I was a Seahawks fan then maybe I'd be a little worried.
  4. What kind of dollar range is John Brown expected to get?
  5. Still better stats that Nate Peterman ?
  6. I think the hate stems from the tug of war we had with the Dolphins that it took to get him. Expectation were really high and for a variety of reasons he wasn't able to live up to them. Happy for him that he's getting another opportunity.
  7. He's getting up there in age so he may be more inclined to a place like Buffalo where the receiving crew is such that his role may be greater than with other teams.
  8. Who knows but I agree that the 250 is a better story to tell pre-draft. I got the 250 off espn and hawkeyesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11157 Really until they measure players at the combine you don't have anything concrete.
  9. 6'5 250lbs
  10. You said we had a lot of players retire under mysterious circumstances. Only Davis retired at half time. Honestly I think you're drawing a false equivalency between what's happening in Pittsburgh and the Bills under McD. The only Bills related quitting I can think of was Marrone walking away which obviously has nothing to do with McD.
  11. Call me Sherlock Holmes. Mystery solved. Incognito has serious mental issues. Proven by the fact that police had to be called to a funeral parlor when he was trying to force the undertaker to cut off his fathers head. Boldin and Davis was at the very end of his career and knew their bodies couldn't handle another full season but struggled to believe it. I can't think of anyone else but let me know if I missed anyone
  12. Without knowing how much it cost or the deal structure I'm happy to see them add depth on the OL. Has to be our biggest area of need
  13. I'd take Golden Tate over Sammy. Sammy is just too injury prone
  14. It's not a pure numbers game. Numbers do not provide the full context. It's when a team gets the call. I've watched many games where the Pats have drives lengthened when the game is really tight and the other side gets a few calls late in the game or at times where they are not nearly as critical. It would be cool of you could see data about each penalty on the following: 1. Down and distance 2. Score 3. Time 4. Where on field the infraction happened.
  15. Other sports have incorporated technology to limit the impact of bad calls. Sports like rugby and soccer utilize variants of VAR (video assisted referee) to make refs aware of missed or bad calls. It's significantly faster than the instant replay currently used in the NFL and solves these types of things. I'm did not watch the game so I can't comment on how many bad or missed calls there were but I do know that VAR would have prevented that bad holding call from standing.
  16. In a really tight defensive game where both teams are struggling offensively having a big play taken away that puts you on their side of the field is a big deal. You are making excuses for a flawed system with that you should be able to overcome the refs logic. Interesting that the Patriots rarely (if ever) seem to have that happen to them.
  17. I agree that the Rams had other chances and that football is an imperfect game subject to human error. But statistically you would expect these erroneous calls (or non calls) to even out over the course of a game or a season. This clearly isn't the case in the NFL. Certain teams seem to benefit from a bad call at just the right time, while others are more often the victims. I would count teams like NE and the Steelers among the teams that benefit the most while sadly our Bills often are the team coming up short. So this isn't pure anecdotal here are just a couple of examples of games deeply effected by bad calls and how some teams get them and some don't. It also important to note when they happen in games especially for the Patriots. They seem to get them when they really need them. 1. "Two flags in particular were pivotal against Miami. On the Dolphins' winning drive, linebacker Matt Milano was called for a 25-yard pass interference penalty. Two plays later, the Bills stuffed running back Kenyan Drake for a 4-yard loss but were penalized 15 yards after defensive tackle Jordan Phillips received a taunting penalty." https://www.dailyherald.com/article/20181203/sports/312039831 Can't find a short video of this but so go to 1:49:20 for the bogus PI call & 1:51:25 for the taunting call. 2. #12 benefiting from a horrible roughing the passer call in the AFC Championship game.
  18. Is this Judge Judy on here??? Hate to burst your bubble but I did say that I've watched the last 16 years of Super Bowls - none of which featured the Bills. Here's my problem, I am tired of certain teams getting bogus calls at critical points of the game. Example the roughing the passer call that Brady got against the Chiefs. I'm a fan of football when the rules are applied evenly.
  19. Yeah you're right. I'll probably regret it in time.
  20. I agree the ratings would have been higher but I still believe that there's a lot more people than you think who couldn't be arsed watching Brady in the Superbowl.
  21. I even live in Atlanta and didn't check out any of the week's activities. No desire to wade into the sea of #12 and #87 jerseys. Can't wait to see how many of their die hard fans bail after Belichick's retirement.
  22. It was the first SB in 17 years that I didn't watch. It was due to the Patriots, and I know other people felt the same way.
  23. Glass half empty guys?? I did notice the guys you are referencing are all defensive guys. All I know is when you look at the results of all the defensive moves that have been made in the two years that he has been here we have a top 3 defense after the mess the Ryan brothers left us. Maybe try and look at the positive side of things like a Levi Wallace or a Micah Hyde.
