  1. All I know is that we gave this game away. Pure and simple. We've got to call it how it is. The fumble into the end zone, the McKelvin fumble not to mention the Jamaal Charles 4th&1 touchdown were the cause. I could go on with the wasted red zone opportunities but that would require me to relive the game in my head and it was bad enuf just watching it the first time. Only positive today is the Phins and Steelers both lost. Lets hope we play angry Thursday. This one had nothing to do with phantom calls that's just an excuse.
  2. 28-14 and Jamaal Charles is out of the game by the end of the 3rd quarter. He's going to get beat up trying to run on our defense.
  3. I'm not sure why history comes into this. This is a different team and a different year. This D is not soft against the run. I'm not sure that Charles will finish the game.
  4. There is also the possibility that no one wants to do extra work with him. He needs people to throw the ball to etc. I think the guys are more concerned with their own growth with Orton than trying to salvage EJ. Can't blame them to be honest.
  5. To be fair, we've snuck out a few wins too. As others have said we need to focus on our business and control what we can control. If this team plays to its potential we can beat KC, Miami, Jets, Browns and Raiders giving us 10 wins. The Green Bay game is one a potential as well after how they were handled by the Saints.
  6. The problem as I see it is his accuracy. I just don't think you can learn accuracy. I'm rooting for him but I'm not hopeful...
  7. Can't we just accept and enjoy that the offense is good enough. I believe that you need to tweak things not make massive changes like a new OC. This is not the teams off Jauron and Gailey. As #12 pointed out in those dark days those locker rooms lacked passion. After those games you couldn't tell whether they'd won or lost. We're 5-3 got some much improved stats on offense and defense. I see no reason to panic. Orton would have won the Texans game, we should be 6-2.
  8. I respectfully disagree. Any win in this league is not embarrassing. Wins are tough to get as the last 14 seasons prove. We are going through a cultural change. We're learning how to scratch out wins. We are starting to expect to win. Prettier wins will come.....
  9. Great post. This team is different than those who've started well and faltered. Nice to have some data to back that up. Lets keep it rolling while #22 is getting better.
  10. The only stat that matters is win/loss. It's clear when you hear the WRs speak that they much prefer to have Orton throwing them the ball. We can win with Orton but Doug Whaley has to go find us our long term QB.
  11. Tampa shipped Mike Williams to us. No way they'd give up VJ to get him back
  12. I've got mixed feelings about this one. The conservative play-calling is getting rough to watch but when you look at the results.... I'm looking at 5-3 and hopeful of seeing January football involving Buffalo. We may not be the perfect but this team is getting better and tougher, especially the defense. Look how the offense has made it happen when they needed it like in the Vikings game.
  13. I've been really critical of Gilmore this year but he played well against the Jets this week. What a great performance all round by the defense. McKelvin sure is playing at a Pro-Bowl level. Too bad that he wasn't awarded that interception. We're going to need to continue to build confidence and respect for the Pats game in NE. I've a feeling it's all going to come down to that last game.
  14. Sammy's second first TD was incredible. Too bad he fell into the showboat trap and didn't get the first one. I'd prefer if he didn't get the ROW this week, too much attention and praise too soon. He will be great if he stays humble and focused. Look how TO has destroyed his legacy. They need him to get on the phone with Barry Sanders or Larry Fitzgerald so he can learn that you don't have to showboat to showboat.
  15. For what they are paid some of these guys could be a little better prepared. Having a local guy in the booth could lead to commentary that's just too biased. For me the crew that was on for the Vikings game was horrible. Pro Vikings views was bad enough but being way late noticing fumbles and flags was really annoying.
