  1. Inaugural - "look it up Thurman."
  2. "Intentional gounding? WTF, I never get called for that!"
  3. I hate to say it but while watching the game today thought it may take an injury to make Allen a better QB. He's not going to last the season if he keeps running like he did today.
  4. Thanks for posting, that video never gets old. I met Tim Russert at a place called 'The West Ender' on Nantucket back in '87. Seemed like a great guy.
  5. My friends and I were doing the same just south of you in OP - we played backyard ball almost every day after school. Kids don't know what they're missing out on these days sitting inside staring at a screen...
  6. + Curt Gowdy He was great, even created a new verb: "collisioned" as in "he collisioned with the receiver." One of my high school English teachers referenced this on occasion as an example of bad grammar.
  7. ^ these. I couldn't wait for the highlights and was always disappointed if (when) they didn't show Bills highlights after a big win. I always watched MNF with my dad and got to stay up late because he inevitably fell asleep. I'd wake him up around midnight when I'd head upstairs to go to bed.
  8. I was wondering how long it would take Ken Jones to be called for holding... it didn't take long!
  9. I sure miss the old intro. Makes you realize how lame the current intro is (if you didn't already know).
  10. One of my favorite players as a young Bills fan. RIP Ben.
  11. I just turned it on for a couple plays but turned it off after the Singletary catch and run. Not ready yet, especially with the JJ Watt love-in about to start...
  12. I tend to agree. They both have been in the Pats*** system. People always reference how Cassel stepped in and excelled during the 2008 season but he was drafted in 2005 and thus had been in the system for 3 full seasons.
  13. Will definitely be interesting to watch. There are no recent scenarios for comparison (that I can think of). Parcells and Jimmy J. come to mind but they were less successful after going to different organizations.
  14. Do they still call it the Port of Columbus Airport?
  15. I have a funny "brush with greatness" story... my girlfriend (now wife) and I were having drinks one Friday after work at a bar in Boston's Faneuil Hall back in the late '80s. There was a commotion at the front of the bar and in walks Roger Clemens who, after much fanfare and back slapping by the Sox fans in the bar, proceeded to walk past us to the back of the bar. We went back to drinking/talking and after about 5 minutes there was another commotion at the front of the bar. In walks Clemens again... after he walked past us the first time, he went out the back door and around to the front again.
  16. The formation was the 'Single Wing'. I attended a Division 3 university in the 1980s that ran it exclusively. Nobody could stop it, except Augustana who was the perennial D3 national champion back then. Hint for YOLO: my school was in your neck of the woods.
  17. Smerlas, though I liked him as a player. Listening to him badmouth the Bills now that he's a Patriot homer is hard to stomach.
  18. ^ This. My son goes to CU and I have seen Shenault play in person a couple times and many times on TV. As Billsflyer12 said, he is an excellent athlete but seems to be injury prone.
  19. Play solid defense and run the ball... not rocket science. Unfortunately McD and Daboll didn't prescribe to the second part of the equation.
  20. Awesome tribute. In the video he mentions that his kids are sad that they will have to leave Buffalo. Any idea where they are going?
  21. You'd think he was the MVP of the game given the knee-pad treatment he received from the announcers.
  22. Given his history with the referees you would think that Hughes would have the good sense to stay away from that situation given the circumstances. You knew he would be flagged as soon as he approached the pile.
  23. Yes, I know and was going to edit my post but you beat me to it. I'll spare TBD the sermon I give to my 21, 20, and 17 year-old kids on a daily basis regarding how the smartphone has ruined our society...
  24. Social media is a major contributor to the decline of Western civilization. Steve Jobs is hailed as a hero, I disagree. Mods, I apologize in advance for the rant.
  25. I'll have to watch it again but saw Hughes mill around the periphery of the scrum then reach into the pile. I knew he was going to get flagged. It looked like he threw several punches but I could be wrong.
