  1. Simple. See Von Miller's interception of Tom Brady in the AFC Championship Game a few years back. You don't want to do it all the time, but a good defense will sprinkle it in from time to time. It's not something a QB would expect which can be a good thing.
  2. Beane and McDermott might also want to see how Ivory does with 12+ carries too. See if he can have another strong game.
  3. I'm hoping they trade for Bell as I have been stashing him on bench in Fantasy Football for weeks now.
  4. In other news, water is wet.
  5. What do you not get old man? That's exactly why i said " i see zero chance of that happening". Pegula knows less than McDermott and Beane. And with Beane and McDermott connected at the him neither is going to fire the other or request for one to be fired. Pegula will not dismiss either until after the 2019 season at the earliest. Also, I think you missed where I said I am willing to give McDermott and Beane a pass for now because the defense is playing so well. If this defensive unit can finish the season as a top 10 unit the 2019 Bills could very well be the 2018 Bears. Sorry if I am still extremely worried about the offense long term but I don't think that is irrational fear or out of line in anyway.
  6. Grew up in SLO county. Left six years ago for the lovely desert climate of Bakersfield.
  7. I agree. But after the debacle of the Green Bay game it was encouraging to just see the offense not shoot themselves in the foot time and time again. He left some plays on the field that he could have made but he also largely wasn't asked to do much. Which for now is probably the correct game plan. Ask him to do too much and we might see another game like the Green Bay game.
  8. 805 is the Central Coast. Not SoCal. Just saying. I have to give them a pass right now with the defense playing so well. But with that said, this is a QB driven league. And I'd have no problem moving on after this season if Pegula feels like they won't be able to develop Allen. Problem is, I see zero chance of that happening. And Beane and McDermott seem to be connected at the hip. They either both stay or both go. I don't think either goes. My gut feeling is these guys have no idea how to put together an offense, how to develop a QB or how to even recognize a good one (see Peterman and questionable drafting of Allen). With that being the case, McDermott has gotten a lot out of this defense without any offensive support at all for two straight years now. Hopefully they have already had their bad games with weeks 1 and 2 and we won't go through a similar mid-season meltdown like we saw last year against the Jets, Saints and Chargers. People have mentioned before following the blue print of the Bears. Let's hope so. I'd like to see this defense finish the season as a top 10 unit and then add a dominant pass rusher in the draft. Maybe not Bosa now though since we already have two wins under our belt and it's not even Halloween yet.
  9. If I am Daboll and McDermott I hope to call the offense like this every Sunday. It won't always be the case because we won't be leading the entire game like this one but I would try to make plays simple for Allen to read and rely on the ground game. Take your risks when you have the chance on the opponents side of the 50 on 4th down. Let your defense create turnovers which we know they are capable of doing whether it is Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers or Marriota. Best call and play of the game for the offense was the first down completion to McCloud to ice the game.
  10. So far the recipe has been just like last years. Clutch kicking, defense playing well and winning the turnover battle. The defense didn't always play well last year as we know and so far this year they already had a couple of stinkers but they've been great since those games. Hopefully it keeps up. Offense so far is worst than last years but the defense might actually be much improved this year which could lead to 6 or even 8 wins which would be very surprising.
  11. Are you betting against the Bills in the next three?
  12. I’ve never understoood why the Watkins and EJ picks have to be connected in the eyes of so many fans. Franchise QB or not Watkins should have been a great player for us. He just happened to be a bust. Look at the great numbers Hopkins put up even before Watson arrived. He put those numbers up with bad QBs. Watkins should have been able to do the same but he just ended up being a bust for us.
  13. I'm far from a McDermott supporters but comparing any team let alone the 2018 Buffalo Bills to the greatest dynasty team the league has ever seen seems a bit outlandish. I'd be more interested in how we compare to an average team over the last 17 years like say Washington or a team like that.
  14. It starts with firing McDermott and hiring an offensive minded head coach. It's unfortunate for McDermott. He might be a decent or even good coach although the jury is still out on that. But it's pretty clear the way to develop a QB in today's NFL is with an offensive minded head coach. McDermott would be a good coach for a team like the Chargers, Steelers or Packers. A team that already has an established veteran QB. You have to highly question McDermott's ability to evaluate the QB position and develop a QB. McDermott has obviously evaluated Peterman to be good enough to spend a 5th round draft pick on, good enough to start twice including one of those starts being the season opener, and good enough to remain on the roster. All three of those decisions, draft him, start him and keep him on the roster appear to be highly questionable to say the least. How can McDermott make sure a QB develops properly if he doesn't even know what to look for in a capable QB? You also have to question his ability to develop or get a QB ready. Can he put the proper coaches and personnel around a young QB? So far the answer is no. He wasn't able to get Peterman ready despite thinking he was ready not once but twice. Allen has two really bad starts and one good start so far. It's absolutely not too soon to jump ship from McDermott. Unless Allen starts to improve a lot as the season progresses I think you have to jump ship from McDermott. The sooner Allen can get competent coaching and personnel around him the sooner he will have a chance to develop properly. The only other option I see is trying to do the exact opposite of what the Rams have done. That is instead of bringing in a great DC like Wade Phillips to have complete control of one side of the ball, bring in a great OC to have complete and unquestioned control of the offensive side of the ball. But who exactly that OC would be i have no idea. And on top of that most great OC's are going to want a head coaching gig not a lateral move to Buffalo. OP, this season is largely what it is at this point. Don't expect much improvement. The personnel on the o-line needs to be upgraded. We all knew that going into the season. Those upgrades won't happen until free agency. Same thing for the WRs. Two of the linebackers are very young and one is old as dirt. One DT is very young and one old as dirt. We need one dominant pass rusher. Might get that in the draft? Specifically for this year I'd like to see us commit the to run more even if we are down in the score or down and distance. This season is a throw away season but lets not get our QB killed or expect him to make unbelievable plays every time we have the ball. Last week had Allen throw three straight in-completions inside his five yard line in the first quarter. That was dumb.
  15. I thought maybe a safety whiffed on tackling him last night.
  16. Allen has the potential to be three QBs rolled into one. Carson Wentz- Near identical physical measurables Cam Newton- Physically gifted runner that can take a beating and is not afraid of a little contact. Patrick Mahomes- Elite arm strength
  17. As my two year old daughter likes to say, they were "poo poo butt".
  18. Allen was awesome. But Baker will win and honestly probably should. Baker had to come off the bench in making his debut and lead his team to victory trailing 14-0 i think?
  19. Yeah i guess not. I always figured when you traded a player all the future costs of that player transfer to his new team. That would make sense to me.
  20. Who have we off loaded besides Dareus? Everyone else was traded or retired I thought? That $54 million is all dareus?
  21. Wow what a tool! Later than Allen, yeah by what 3 picks? Yet he wants to compare Cleveland and Buffalo where Mayfield was selected 6 picks before Allen.
  22. I got to disagree here still. When was the last time we really had nobody good at the RB position? More often than not we had two capable backs. Not just one. You definitely do not need to overspend on the position. Money is better spent elsewhere for sure.
  23. Von Miller Intercepts Tom Brady This was second down rather than third but still second and long. I don't think it is a bid deal to occasionally drop your rush linebackers or ends in coverage as it can fool the QB who is likely certain that player is rushing. But yeah it should be used wisely and sparingly. I don't know how many times Hughes has dropped into coverage this year but a few times would be fine. It just makes me shake my head. How can we be in cap trouble when we basically have no good players? Even taking into account the Dareus money we are still owe who the heck else is getting paid on this team? We overpaid a bunch of bad players? And I love McCoy but RBs really are a dime a dozen and we probably shouldn't be paying him what he is getting either. Worst team in the league and we have a terrible cap situation. Makes no sense.
  24. Like McDermott leaving White on an island last year with Green to get burned for a 75 yard TD? Unless you are implying the safety help we have now is that we actually signed a couple of good safeties in Poyer and Hyde when McDermott came in. That I definitely agree with.
