The NFL has survived for nearly 100 years with out VAR. We don't need VAR for every single play. And holding like many other penalties will always be subjective to a degree.

My theory is offense tends to get you to the big games. Better regular season record, division titles, first round bye's and therefore more often than not to the conference title games and Super Bowl. But once you are at the super bowl, the team with the better defense tends to win with more regularity. But typically speaking, both teams will have top 10 offenses or even better.

Hope they lose but be cool with whatever outcome happens. That's where I am at with the Pats. I'll end up in a mental institution if I harbor some of the hate for them that some on here have towards them.

Yeah saying he was Horry is slighting him too much. But he's not at the Duncan, Magic, Kobe, Jordan, Russell level either. Somewhere between.

Basically in this entire game, in terms or egregious bad or non calls, there was one bad call on the Rams and zero on the Pats? That's about as good as it gets in the NFL. You expect human refs to be better than this?? They would have to be perfect. zero/zero or 1/1 bad calls. That's not realistic. As the previous poster mentioned, Rams could have had 1st and 5 and they likely weren't moving the ball. Their offense was terrible. They missed opportunity after opportunity.

This. Numerous players throughout NBA history have won 5 or more titles. Many of the actual super star players too, not just role players who jumped around from winning team to winning team like Robert Horry. In the NFL you have two players Tom Brady and Charles Haley. Haley obviously falling more under the category of the Robert Horry type. Winning 5+ titles in the NFL or playing in 6+ super bowls is a far greater achievement. You just aren't supposed to do that in the NFL.

You can't over come one holding penalty in 3-3 ball game you have bigger problems. Bad calls happen all the time. This super bowl was actually one of the more fairly called games I've seen all year. Agree 100% with everything here.

They already ran the ball well this year. I believe they finished 5th in rushing yards which is the highest ranking of any Brady lead Patriot team I believe. I'm not sure how much improvement they need in that area. Michel is just the kind of back they need. And Burkhead is a good compliment. They will need to look for a replacement for Gronk and upgrades at the #2 and #3 WR position. Hogan doesn't seem to be cutting it.

They would be foolish to not look for the next Jimmy G. But it doesn't mean much. Kraft is in Brady's corner.

Considering all the great things said about him, it might be McVay. But I would take McVay over Goff. At worst, McVay is an Andy Reid type. You could do a lot worst than Andy Reid at the Head Coach position. I'm just not a big believer in Goff. Imagine if this Rams team had Nick Foles behind center last night. Hard to imagine they only manage 3 points behind a more experienced QB that doesn't fold.

Not a chance. I don't think Brady has talked about it, but I bet he would like to not only be the winning-est QB of all time but also hold every single major passing record. The only chance he has of achieving that is to play at least one more season than Brees, possibly two. He has a chance to become the all time leader in passing TDs next year if he can throw three more than Brees next season. Both will move ahead of Peyton for 1 and 2. But he is about 4,000 yards behind Brees in passing yards. So probably needs to play one more season than Drew who also doesn't seem to be considering retiring anytime soon. I wonder what year it was we started to seriously ask this question. 2013? 2014?

We did see terrible Brady. About six weeks ago. But the Patriots ran up close to 300 yards on us. Brady can still be efficient at times but he is now reliant on a good supporting casts around him. Problem is, last time he was this reliant on a good supporting cast, the Patriots had one as they usually do and they won a Super Bowl.

A number one WR who has never been higher than #3 or #4 on the depth chart? By his logic I must be a practice squad WR.

Was he not he Dolphins QB when Ajayai rushed for 200+ yards and the Dolphins won in overtime at New Era a couple years ago?

Pats ML Pats/Chiefs Over (Didn't bet this but wish I did). Might bet it if I miss on the the early game. Rams +5 Rams/Saints Under (Actually bet the over but I am now thinking I should have taken the under but will let it ride for now.) I expect a Patriots win but I don't think it will be a beat down. KC's offense is too good to allow that. And on top of that they are playing at home. I'm expecting a high scoring game. Exactly how I am seeing them minus the Chiefs winning. Kicking myself for taking the over in the early game.

A light went off for Allen after the injury and bye week. It didn't exactly show up in his raw passing stats and numbers, yards, percentage etc. But you can tell the game had slowed down for him. The number of sacks he took dropped significantly. He saw things better. He was realizing when to use his legs. If he can win 5 games as a rookie completing 53% of his passes then it's not too hard to imagine him winning 9+ consistently when he gets the number up to 59-60%. In terms of a passer I think he is going to be a lot like Cam Newton. We will be frustrated at times with his inconstancy but at the end of the day, he'll have the talent to win 12-14 games and put together an MVP type season. He just won't ever be a 62%+ completion guy consistently.

Fred Jackson. Dude was legit. I really think he could have been a featured three down back. Like Matt Forte. Possibly better than Forte. But we drafted Lynch. And then foolishly drafted Spiller when we already had a reliable playmaker in Jackson.

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while. See Chad Pennington too as an example.

First off, that’s a bold claim for someone who’s been on here for less than two weeks. Are you a closet Jets fan? Second, Josh Allen is 5-6 as a starter. Sam Darnold is 4-9 as a starter. You are what your record says you are indeed.

I don't think that was the case really. Most of the hits he took were inside the red zone I thought. Looking to try to score. Maybe earlier in the season he took a lot of hits outside the red zone? But it seemed like after the bye he was gaining huge chunks of yards with ease and just as easily sliding and giving himself up early.

You know it's only a matter of time before the Michael Jordan of the NFL shows up. A guy who can pass as good as Brady, Brees and Rodgers but has wheels like Mike Vick. Not Saying Allen will be that guy but a guy like that will come around eventually. And Allen isn't a running QB. He's a QB that can run. And he can run at an efficiency we've perhaps never seen before.

To hell with accuracy. If Allen can continue to take what the defense gives him with his legs he won't ever need to be a 60%+ completion guy. We can win with him at 58-59% completion. With that said, I don't think it is unreasonable to think he wont get to 60-62% if we dial back the long pass attempts a bit and he just progresses a little as he should with more experience. And how about this stat: Allen 11 Games Started 2 4QC's 3 GWD's 7.1 ypr Darnold 13 Games Started 1 4QC 1GWD 3.1ypr One's a play maker and makes things happen. The other not as much. Darnold's actually not that bad. I think his one 4th QC was against us unfortunately and he did make a great play with his legs keeping the play alive. He does have some of that ability. But I don't think he will ever be on Allen's play making level. He won't put pressure on a defense like Allen will.

Very true. I can't imagine Allen ever pouting during or after a game.
