Maybe I’ve been at this longer than you. I ALWAYS root for my/our team, but there were years, many years, when even my Golden Retrievers knew we were very unlikely to win very many games. Every game scares me, and this one is no different. I’ll wait and see how it plays out.

I think some of the current impression is not just the numbers, but also the fact that some were so head scratching it seemed like it should count more than once somehow in my mind.

My college buddy who remains in Cincinnati is a Browns fan deep down, but he has season tickets to the Bengals. I was scheduled to be in his seats for that horrible Monday Night game, but the wife booked a trip to Hilton Head with friends. He sold his seat for about $400 each. That would be a poor investment, but a night you’d never forget. (Like The Who concert that will live with me forever.) Hats off to the kind people of Cincinnati to be so good in a horrible time. Class act, that was. 👍

I find no appropriate emoji for this. I have no problem with fans of other teams, unless they are trolling. You know who there are quickly enough. That seems so petty and closed minded by the Bengals board to me. But, I’ve seen how the Xavier vs UC fans can get along….or not. I went to one of them, and the other guys just don’t like us! 😂

We took our big swing with Von this year. Unfortunately, our shiny new toy got broken. I hope he’s completely ready for the playoffs next year. He’s a closer! You don’t get to take big swings every year. That would cripple your roster. You don’t want to only be able to shop in the bargain bin in Free Agency. As Beane has said, they want to build for sustainable success.

IDK, but for exotic trips like that they go with their regular guide who does these trips all the time. Nice to have someone who knows the ropes. She just recently got back from 3 weeks in Hawaii. It seems I’m doing something wrong. 🤷‍♂️

My sister is on vacation in Vietnam and has sent some amazing photos. It’s not a place that would be at the top of my list, but it seems she’s been almost everywhere else. It certainly looks beautiful. Kliff can take a year off if he wants and come back refreshed.

….and right now, the only thing that counts is Miami. But yes, if you don’t plan ahead you can be too late. Airfare, car rentals and hotels, IF you can get them, will spike similar to the way they do for the Bills home opener. Atlanta is so much bigger it can more easily absorb a single big game, but I bet now is as cheap as it will be.

I meet a guy in a tennis league and we’re doing the whole where are you from, what do you do for work thing. He said “I’m from the armpit of the United States”. I said “Oh, Gary, Indiana?” He said “so you’ve been there!” I told him I drove through one time, and that’s all I needed to see. 😂 Winter sucks here with too many gray days in the 40’s and rain, but at least it’s relatively brief. I don’t mind the heat of summer, in fact I like that part. It’s just too big for my taste, but we (the wife and son) are here to make money. Atlanta has career type jobs that were not available in our previous home towns (Hilton Head Island and Sarasota, FL). In fact, few cities rival Atlanta for work opportunities. Oh well…..a few more years for my wife.
