I don’t even like to get wings to go. They are not crispy by the time I get them home. Part of it is steaming in the container, I think. Cold, flabby wings are disgusting! We had a very accomplished architect here to help us with some design stuff recently. He saw my Bills stuff around the house and mentioned his wife was going on a beach trip with friends, but he’s not a beach guy. Instead, he was leaving for a trip to Buffalo to see all the architectural highlights, the Falls and some other stuff. He listed the Frank Lloyd Wright house, art gallery and had a long list of stuff to see. Buffalo has some great architecture! While he’s here the wife mentions The Anchor Bar (the only wing joint she’s been to in WNY). I explain that people will argue who has the best wings, but it’s generally acknowledged who had the first wings. A couple days later we get an email from him with a picture of his wings, a cold beer and an Anchor Bar menu. A few hours later and I respond and say he has to get some pizza while he’s there…..and he immediately sent me a pic of a fantastic looking pizza sitting in front of him! I think he had a good trip!

I’ve got a bad shoulder so I picked up some roll-on CBD stuff recently in NC. I’m not sure if it really works, or if it’s my imagination…..but it smells suspiciously like BenGay! 😂 -
Vintage Looking Bills Gear - Where Do You Guys Get Your Stuff?
Augie replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t forget all the vintage Buffalo Bills Super Bowl Champs shirts all over Africa! I really like the vintage/vintage looking stuff. Bills are top 3 in uniforms all-time, IMO. I wish they didn’t feel the need to keep tweaking stuff. Our throw back gear is classic! -
Do you realize you are free to not click? He’s excited and may learn more about the area, where to go, where not to go, where the Bills crowd will be tailgating, etc. I like a little inside info when I go to away games, just like the people coming to WNY for home games like advice.

Or, you could just go to the Capital building….. Can’t leave out “don’t drink the water!” He did more than post, he started his own thread about going to a preseason game. He didn’t like it, so he tried to outdo it. Curious, I know. 🤷♂️

They could have had @HOUSE for half that, but he wouldn’t know where to put it. Story of his life……

Was that in college, or was that now and it just seemed like it was in college? -
I was juuust on the cusp of all that. I used to walk home from 3rd grade to a friends house, Jack Kemp’s son. We had season tix and I knew what a big deal he was, but anything beyond seeing his trophy case full of balls and my first ever color TV was lost on me then. I had no idea about people’s reputations, relationships or behinds the scenes stuff. What a different world it was! ALL the numbers were down, and they loved the elusive long ball, as I recall .

Me too.

It was a tough choice but AB announces his biggest regret…

Tom Brady Away From Bucs to "Deal With Some Personal Things"

At least it didn’t come at halftime! -
I think the word “healed” would have to be defined. It’s a matter of degrees when it comes to strengthening the ACL and surrounding muscle groups, I suppose. Our son tore his ACL and MCL in HS football. I was shocked by the atrophy and how quickly his leg visibly shrank. Having said that, we took him out of state for surgery with a sports specialist and his physical therapist moved on to do research at UVA after his rehab. These guys really knew what they are doing, like the Bills people. He had surgery on June 24 and played in a Thanksgiving basketball tournament. No, he was definitely not 100% himself, but that’s only 5 months and I find that shocking! Of course, the NFL is not high school basketball, but I’m still amazed. I remember when a torn ACL meant you might be done forever. It’s still bad, but how far they have come in recent decades is miraculous. The physical part is obviously serious so you avoid setbacks, but learning to really trust that knee again is a battle in itself.

Tom Brady Away From Bucs to "Deal With Some Personal Things"
Augie replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is what I had heard, but just as speculation. Even Tom Brady gets my best wishes for his family if this is the case. I feel dirty……. -
He juuuuust a bit sleepy. Odd hours, you know.

There’s a pizza joint on a cute little square near us I like to hit for lunch. In nice weather I like to eat on the sidewalk of the corner location. The north/south street doesn’t line up quite right. When you cross the east/west street you have to jog over about 15 feet. They have dotted lane lines for the two lanes going north/south, but people tend to ignore them. There’s almost a 50% chance that I’ll hear at least one horn honk during my time there, and I’ve seen/heard at least a couple accidents. It is inherently dangerous, but I don’t know what more they could do. People need to pay attention! The good news is you are going slow and it’s just fender benders. Nobody is going to stand a car on end at this sleepy little intersection……unless you are a complete idiot…..like this kid.

Maybe next time. Take good care of yourself, it may be a while!

My early years were in Hamburg. It’s really cute now, as witnessed on a trip back for an opener a few years ago. I have fond childhood memories of East Aurora as well. I hope I’m wrong, as I’d love to have some cool stuff around the stadium, especially a game day hotel. I just don’t know if it can support enough stuff to make it a magnet on non-game days. I live in Atlanta about 3 miles from where the Braves play at The Battery. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment. It does well, and I love it on non-game days. The difference is there are literally millions of people within an easy drive. Having 100k +/- people nearby is small potatoes, especially when their needs are already met with things more convenient. Now, you don’t need all THAT (The Battery), but I think most of the places you mentioned have enough in their immediate areas that they don’t need to drive out into a “giant empty field” that is the area surrounding the stadium. You need enough to be a draw, but not so much that you can’t possibly support it. As others have said, If they’ve had since pre-1973 to develop the area, and it hasn’t been done, there might be a reason. Again, I will say as long as they remain in WNY I’m happy, and if stuff develops around the stadium, all the better.

Reminds me of PPV for Mike Tyson fights. I was glad the guy next door was willing to pay for it!

OK, OP around the stadium is a wasteland. The word “most” is there for a reason, and it may be a bit of hyperbole, but anywhere near the stadium it fits. We just said the same thing. There is ZERO similarity between OP near the stadium and the Lambeau area which is surrounded by dense residential housing. .

Isn’t that what he did after he went bowling for Canadians? Good thing those curbs were there to stop him! It’s like putting the bumpers down when you go bowling with kids, or drain the bar.
