  1. The hottest game I’ve ever been to was in Jacksonville. Marcus Stroud had just left the Jags to join the Bills and he said it was the hottest game he’d ever played in. All hot days are not created equal. We watched much of the game in the shade and AC on monitors over the concession stand. We were the last people in our row to give up and go inside, and this was early in the game. It was dangerously hot, and the Bills were rotating the OLine for safety reasons. I don’t know what restrictions exist that would prevent us from providing some kind of shade. If it obstructs the views of fans in the first few rows, too bad. It is a deliberate and unfair competitive advantage that also is related to player safety. It’s not the same as going to Buffalo in December because it’s the same cold for both teams. The stadium design and putting Tua back into the game after clearly being concussed were a bad look for the league yesterday. Period.
  2. Rookie mistake. Everyone else is off the hook. This loss is entirely on YOU! Don’t do it again.
  3. Unfortunately, they put Tua back in with an obvious concussion. To tell me it was his back is silly and insulting. The Dolphins do not care one little bit about player safety, even their own players.
  4. Please explain how that makes any sense at all.
  5. Do you think he is capable of sit, stay, stop typing?
  6. There may be some good combo in there, used in some other way, but I don’t know what it would be doing near a grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich union would strike.
  7. I’m really not that loud. But I try my best.
  8. When we lived in Sarasota for almost 20 years (strangely I don’t consider myself a horrible person despite that) we drove down to see the Orange Bowl once. Notre Dame vs FSU, I think. We got off at the wrong exit. I thought we had landed in a third world country and we feared for our lives. I’ve never seen anything quite like it, but I found myself in the wrong part of downtown Philly one time which is a clear “scary #2”. Every city has those areas, some much worse than others. You just have to be careful to avoid them. Miami also has some fabulously beautiful areas. Take the bad with the good. I would move back to Sarasota in a heartbeat. Gazillions of other people agree, based upon property prices. I doubt they are all horrible people. MANY of them have been bright and successful people who can afford to live wherever they want. That is their choice. I don’t judge them or begrudge them. Just like anyone who has wishes different than my own. No offense to many, MANY of the people here, but while I love Buffalo most of the year, I could never live there full time again. I’ve even sniffed around for a summer/fall home there once the wife retires. But not for 12 months. That does not make anyone else “wrong” or “horrible”. You have your reasons, and I have mine.
  9. If we have to wait until the Super Bowl to see that, I can live with it! 😋
  10. Why does Josh vs Tua make me think of the fine cinematic classic that is Bambi Meets Godzilla? .
  11. How many guesses do we get???
  12. I’m curious, are you ever embarrassed by your owner? 😋
  13. I meet an old college buddy for lunch about once a month. We go to the OK Cafe and we get a BLT on toasted sourdough bread….and it is delicious! Toasted sourdough is the way to go!
  14. We’ve had more than our share. The last few years we’ve been fortunate, it seems.
  15. On my most recent trip to South Beach I found that I could only order by pointing at the menu…..because I only speak English. And I was the only one who spoke English. As the old joke goes: Do you know the best thing about Miami? It’s so close to the United States! I am all for diversity, but South Beach isn’t what it used to be. Few things have made me more proud than hearing that the Rams had to go to a silent count when we came to visit! GO BILLS!!!
  16. Just the smell of bacon in the morning is one of the greatest treats on the planet. It’s a Rosebud type of memory.
  17. I went to one place where they thought they were doing me a favor by making the BLT all about the BACON. It was just too much. Hard to fit all that bacon in a human mouth. Almost like Captain Crunch tearing up the roof of your mouth. And it was dry. It needed more MAYO, and even some more tomato could have helped juice it up. They all need each other. I got a “California BLT” last week. I don’t hate avocado, but it makes a sandwich slip and slide so I had the avocado on the side and thought I had solved the problem. Nope. They replaced the mayo with some kind of nasty pesto. A BLT is not a BLT without MAYO!
  18. I believe it was last Tuesday at Wegman’s.
  19. Mayo is the best part of a BLT. Should it be a MBLT? I would use butter, my wife would spray some PAM on it and call it a day. I’m not sure if it’s a enough to keep the kids from eating it, but it will not quite make the gourmet joint’s menu.
  20. By the time I pay for airfare, hotel rooms and a car rental, I see a bit extra for my game ticket as just one more drop in the bucket……generally. This year, due to other factors, I was not able to attend the home opener. BUT, I looked close enough to see that the hotel and airfare had spiked along with the game ticket. For just me alone it was going to be about $2,500+ for a long weekend in Buffalo to see the game. Atlanta to Buffalo round trip was over $800 the week before the game. Hotel had gone from about $250/night to $450/night. Game ticket was obviously obscene, even upper deck. I never looked at car rentals, but I bet they were going to screw me there too. Everybody sees an opportunity and wants a piece of the action. I freely admit, if I owned a hotel and could make an extra $XXXXXX, I’d have a hard time leaving that money on the table. So, I decide if I can justify it, and I just try to put the cost out of my mind and enjoy the experience. Had I not had a conflict, I would have done it anyway, but that probably would have stuck in my craw a bit, no matter how hard I tried. My wife might raise an eyebrow as well, but that’s life.
  21. My road game was going to be Cincinnati this year. My buddy has season tix, and he’s been selling his Bengals seats for double face value. When the schedule came out I learned that the game was a Monday Night game (a good thing) on January 2nd (a bad thing). I think by the time the Bengals lose a bunch of games and people realize it’s cold out at night in Cincinnati in January, he will be lucky to find many takers. I’m on the fence, and it’s free for me. There are a bunch of factors, but they are generally pretty obvious and foreseeable.
  22. Hopefully they don’t throw urinal cakes in the sinks. That seems to confuse people.
  23. With the shortage of priests that currently exists, you’d think they’d be looking for new ways to bolster the roster. The last few guys they brought in were from Poland. Their English was less than good. My wife tried to calm the kids down at Mass one day and make them pay attention. The reply she got was “but I can’t understand a word he’s saying”, and might wife had to concede they had a point. Our kids had a married priest at one of their schools. His son was a classmate. Seemed odd, but it worked just fine, and we could understand him.
  24. He put up ridiculous numbers, but I personally thought he looked terrible doing it. It was freaky in that regard. The ball just takes a long time getting there. He was like Lucky Fitzy for a quarter there, taking chances with his weak throws, but somehow just kept getting away with it! Fitz used to make me laugh with some of those tosses. .
  25. I’m glad you’re not my dad. We have a long way to go, and many unknown obstacles.
