  1. Detroit pizza I have at least actually heard of! I had no idea CT had “a thing” with pizza. Looks delicious though! I took my mom to a place that bragged about the Chicago deep dish pizza. When we got there we learned it was 45 minutes to an hour to actually get one prepared for you. We had the regular stuff. I used to be able to get deep dish by the slice in FL, and it was amazing! The guy sold the place to someone who ran it into the ground. Very sad!
  2. OK, I’m back to wings here, and this may be a game changer. Andrew Zimern (Bizarre Foods/Destinations) was in Bali, and they have some tasty egg roll looking thing they want to keep crispy. When you get it to go they pop up a little vent on the top so they don’t steam and get soggy. Does anyone do this for wings?
  3. Let us just say, there are better ways to start a relationship.
  4. I don’t know why, but this made me think of my banking days years ago when people would ask “Which set of books do you want to see?” 😂
  5. Oh no! Is there going to be more math? 😱 I think I’ve had enough math already.
  6. I’ve watched a bit for years. Not for the cycling so much as the travel aspect. It can be absolutely beautiful! I used to like Paul Sherwen’s stories about the little towns and regions they passed thru. RIP .
  7. I believe I read Tom Landry was 11 years. Every coach and situation are different. Period. Bill Callahan made the Super Bowl with the Raiders. With his .409 winning percentage in the NFL. Making/winning a SB is not the ONLY measure of success, even if it is the ultimate goal.
  8. If I were to argue his point there, it could come off as sounding snooty or delusional. I’m not sure if he can sniff snooty, but it might sound almost like “I have $5.3 million in Disney stock alone”. ….so there’s that. 🤷‍♂️ .
  9. I had Irma the lunch lady in HS who some people here remember. I probably had teachers, too. EDIT: I was kidding. I have had people here from my HS who remember Irma. They did not seem to know the same teachers. I was fortunate enough to have many great teachers from those days. .
  10. Do you mean Euripides or Pericles? They both had a great sense of humor and made some killer wings! (The Anchor Bar wasn’t really first, but not many people know that.)
  11. It’s actually one of the first movies I remember seeing. I think it was at that little theater in Hamburg the same year as Yellow Submarine with the Beatles. Alan Arkin never failed to make a good impression with his work, taking on some quirky roles. Very talented man. RIP. EDIT: Yellow Submarine movie was a couple years later. Alan Arkin was in the first movie I remember seeing at a theater. .
  12. PROGRAMING ALERT: ESPN2 is showing archived footage from Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest! Currently showing 2018. With that kind of programing gold, they will probably need to hire these people back pronto!
  13. Depends on the time zone, and a few other things, I’m guessing.
  14. Screen shot??? 😋
  15. Hand her a hose while we’re at it! They could use some rainy days! Got the annual call from my one Canadian buddy today. He doesn’t want me to miss a day of celebration!
  16. I don’t think so, but I can’t be sure. It was an old house and we always got wings to go (and they were STILL good). I remember a Rudy’s Tap Room or something closer to the UB Amherst location, I think. This was a LONG time ago, back in the 70’s. Seriously doubt any of it is still there. The bar is always your friend!!! I eat lunch there daily, today with my wife because it was easier than a table. Just sit.
  17. Thank you for a prompt response. This tells us all that we need to know.
  18. They came out with ESPN the magazine, right? Went into print right before print died. One bad decision after another. I don’t want to sound like Bills basher, but that’s a lot of whiffs! 😂
  19. Or, a step down, he may be a fry chef after a full shift in the kitchen.
  20. AND, right on cue, the national news has a bit about the writer’s strike. How they defend themselves against AI in the years ahead will be interesting. Will “people written scripts” be the next organic food? The world be a changin’!
  21. We had friends in Sarasota who also have a place in London, his home. I had no idea he could cook, but he made an incredible Indian meal. A bit zippy, but delicious! Several cases of wine later he advised his departing guests to “tuck a roll of toilet tissue in your freezer before bed, you’ll want it in the mornin’.” He wasn’t entirely wrong. .
  22. He certainly seemed to have high hopes.
  23. Well, it can be ALL of these things, and some things we never even imagined. Oh! Looking at some show I’m not familiar with on YouTube TV (because I’m often gonna need them to get my Bills games) and they are doing a segment on the BILLS! I miss ESPN even less. They (ESPN) were ground breaking game changers back in the day. They are now dinosaurs, the love child of the slide rule and the Kodak film empire. The world is moving on, and ESPN has not done a great job of staying ahead of the game. .
  24. When the wheels fell off Mike & Mike I basically stopped watching ESPN. Golic would rein him in, or at least balance them out. I think that was the last good thing they had, and that’s been a while. EDIT: Dan Patrick is as good as anything out there now, IMO. Listen in car or on phone, but for some reason streaming on Peacock recently started running one day behind. What’s up with that??? Grrr! .
