  1. You look quite familiar. Have we met, or are you that guy in the mirror when I shave?
  2. OWW!!! That HURT!
  3. Our first house was right on the marsh overlooking a large sound. With a spring tide the water came right up to the backyard and we could take my buddies kayak out to the tidal creeks leading to the sound. There was a point full of trees that served as a windscreen. I nearly had “an incident” when that breeze caught and shocked me! Nothing like rolling on your maiden voyage, but narrowly averted. Kayaks AND paddle boards appeal to me more than high speeds on a jet ski! My spine has been jarred enough on jet skis! They are nice for just toddling up canals boats might struggle with, though.
  4. I am all for equality, including with prize money in tournaments, but we have a problem. If they women want equal pay they should have to play best of 5 sets. Sorry, that may be my jerk post of the day, but if we are going to be equal, then we should be equal, right? Equal pay for equal work. Maybe I feel this way because Serena was the champion for equal play and after experiencing her in person on practice courts, I just plain don’t like her. One of the most dominant athletes of all time, men or women in any sport, but a Class A jerk in person. I guess you could say the say thing about Michael Jordan and others, but I was glad to see the “real Serena” come out a few years ago at the US Open when she was caught on camera yelling at the line judge “I’ll shove this ball up your @ss!” That was the Serena we saw on the practice courts at the Miami tournament.
  5. Jessica Pegula advances again, this time 6-4 and 6-0. Save that wear and tear, stay fresh!
  6. WOW! This took me back to my weekly trip to Chili’s to get the USA Today on the bar on Tuesdays to read two sentences about the Bills.
  7. Have you ever had a better hour? 😋 I’m glad you passed the stress test.
  8. Like, you can get the WSJ, The Athletic and TBN for $35/month? What an idea! 😋
  9. I have a question, and maybe it’s been answered, but what does it cost if you pick one up….wherever you pick up a newspaper now. I see them in the grocery store sometimes. I might look at a book store if I needed one? I don’t love it, but I get it. Paper died a while ago. I’m still a hard cover guy.
  10. Does this feel the the Sunday Ticket all over again? That was a joke! A bad joke.
  11. On a related note, it seems Murray just hurt himself slipping on the grass and went down hard. He recovered enough to win one service point ending the set, then they called it for the night. The way he was grabbing his junk sitting in his chair was a mixture of confusing and disturbing. He acted like he’d been whacked in the goods with his racquet! Replay showed he just slipped. He was fortunate it ended so conveniently in front of his home crowd.
  12. AND you could afford a book of crossword puzzles as well! I used to enjoy the newspaper years ago when we lived in smaller towns. The Atlanta paper is like a phone book full of stuff I don’t care about, and about to follow the phone book out of existence.
  13. My wife’s family has been involved with St Jude Children’s Hospital since the beginning. Nothing touches your heart more than a child with an illness like that. And it can be so painful and devastating for the family as well. Prayers sent for Eddie AND his family. Just to be clear, neither Nick or Eddie are Nigerian Princes, correct?
  14. How did Tre White do in goal? Looking 100%?
  15. She dropped a set in the first round but won more easily today, 6-1 and 6-4. Oh, and BTW, Andy Murray is just as whiney and unlikable as ever. .
  16. It’s a Hot Pocket, straight out of the oven……. and he’s gonna burn the roof of his mouth! Has anyone ever landed on IR for that?
  17. And…….finally she’s up next! You just never know how long things will take to unfold in the matches before you. I was looking into just touring the grounds when I go for the Bills game in October. It appears that is allowed but you need to book a reservation in advance thru the museum, and probably pay something? Anybody know anything about this?
  18. As much as I love the energy of the US Open, Wimbledon is the Top Dog for me!
  19. It’s a funny time to be stepping in, isn’t it? 🤷‍♂️
  20. My sons, when in high school, would say there is no greater compliment. RIP
  21. Can you define “our circles” for us? .
  22. My brother in law is a VERY bright guy, in some ways. His grown daughters like to share his IQ with you if you let them. I’m not impressed because he is absolutely lost in groups or with any kind of interactions with others. They brag about his IQ, but I’m not sure it outweighs his glaring weaknesses. Super nice guy, and if you need someone to check your numbers, he’s your guy. But if you want to shout about your strengths, it’s only fair to paint the whole picture.
  23. You may be looking at the wrong thing. Just sayin’. 🤷‍♂️
  24. Detroit pizza I have at least actually heard of! I had no idea CT had “a thing” with pizza. Looks delicious though! I took my mom to a place that bragged about the Chicago deep dish pizza. When we got there we learned it was 45 minutes to an hour to actually get one prepared for you. We had the regular stuff. I used to be able to get deep dish by the slice in FL, and it was amazing! The guy sold the place to someone who ran it into the ground. Very sad!
