We had, and maybe still have, an Anchor Bar by a college not too far away. I went twice trying very hard to like it. Not well executed. I shouldn’t have to try THAT hard. We HAD a Duff’s about 45 miles away and I’d go a couple times a year. They did a GREAT job, but apparently not good enough. They disappeared around the beginning of Covid, not sure if it was related or coincidence, but I miss it! Congrats on the Bar Bill coming near you. That would be a regular in my rotation if they can pull it off.

How long does it take an NFL head coach to reach his 1st Super Bowl?

BUT, did you check out the mathy page? That was some definitive stuff there! Numbers and formulas everywhere! All to prove……exactly nothing. But it was all carefully gathered by the OP who is trying to push his agenda and trick grade school kids into thinking he’s onto something. He’s at 56 posts and climbing in this effort, while the #2 poster has 14 posts. He must really want to prove he’s right, despite how obvious it seems to most of us that the math page was pure folly. It’s not math, it’s football! -
Our son and his wife used to rent a townhouse from us (well below market rent, of course) and we’d hear about it every time the oven broke or they had a plumbing issue. I’d wait all day for the guy to show, then order parts so I could wait all day again when the parts came in. Then I would pay for it all. They bought their first house about a year ago. It was a rude awakening for my cheapskate son! 😂 Congrats to @Draconator on the first house. It’s nice to be able to do what you want with the property and benefit from the value you add.

Makes you wonder if the Browns would have been better off being patient with Belichick. Here’s a crazy concept for folks to ponder: Do you think people can get better at their job given some experience? But how do you squeeze that into our cute little “formula”? Coaches rarely get fired for not winning the Super Bowl. They get fired (all the time) for not winning. Period. McD wins, a lot. He has had missteps in the playoffs for sure, but he’s consistently there and I think his time will come. I’ll take him over door #2 on The Price Is Right. -
As I said, I only need the one ticket! How bad could it be for ONE TICKET? 😋

This seemed worth quoting…..just because I can. This “analysis” is just a bunch of silly crying out for attention. It means absolutely nothing in terms of predicting the future. Our HC was 14-4 last year, generally in line with his previous seasons. You don’t win it all until you win it all. That’s how it works. -
This reminds me of Bob. I’m more of a tennis guy and he worked the pro shop where we lived. I’d feel bad calling and asking for the ball machine to be set up, but he was always so happy and helpful. “Glad to do it!” After tennis we’d go around to the pool area and he’d serve us beers at the bar. Bob was US! Bob was probably a few years older than me, but not much. He had done something else in life, and this was a pleasant, no stress way to spend 20 hours a week and get a helpful check. I always wanted to have a few beers with old Bob, but he was working and the grown up of the two of us. (I never said he was perfect!) .

I didn’t see Von’s ACL tear in any of that scientific mathy stuff presented earlier. There may be a problem with the formula. -
Despite the volume of posts, it seems to just be a handful of posters who think the 14-4 coach from last season is on a hot seat. That is just silly talk at this point. If things turn south? Sure, but let’s talk about it then.

It’s sad, but also kinda funny. Mostly funny. Apparently he realizes nonsense is not our strong suit, so there is that. -

He couldn’t do crunches in the driveway like TO either, I’m guessing! So there is that, too! -

McNabb was unique for his time, and not a terrible player. Not great, but certainly not terrible. -

It’s much more colorful than his tax returns. Very pretty! It reminds me more of Easter than Christmas. -

He’s not even a good person, from my experience. He got a ring with Tony Dungy’s team against his old team and they were too stupid to change anything for the Super Bowl. He coached against Bill Callahan who has an NFL career winning percentage of .419. HE made a Super Bowl! Does that make him a good coach? Does anyone want a .419 Bill Callahan for coach? He must be special! He reached the pinnacle of his profession! ….or do you want McD? . -

So, if someone is on ignore, does that mean the threads they start don’t show up? Asking for a friend. -

That sounds like exhausting work! Maybe I can make bar research my retirement job? 😋 🍺 Looks great! Nice place to enjoy the season with like minded fans. -
Having virtually all the knowledge of mankind in my pocket might have helped my GPA. 😋

Sexism is alive and well. My wife went to the Lexus dealer today to drive the Hybrid version of her current car. She went alone on her way home from a hair appointment. I was walking the dog at the park and saw no reason to join her. She can do whatever she wants as far as a new car goes. It’s pretty simple. Or, so we thought! She went into the sales office to find a few sales people engaged with customers, and other employees (sales and otherwise) just engaged with each other. When a guy or a couple went by they were always greeted and asked if they could be helped. My wife stood and watched this over and over, while nobody said so much as hello to the female standing there, in a sales office, by herself. She watched in amazement….until she stormed out. “It was like I was INVISIBLE!”

I know this is a WNY thread, but I’ve never seen a place celebrate summer like Minneapolis! Everything is covered in flowers and the people walk, bike and jog everywhere! We tried to get into a nice restaurant on our first night there, a Thursday. It was packed with a super long wait so we went with plan B and promised ourselves to be earlier the next night to get a table. We showed up Friday night to find the place EMPTY! WTF? We asked about it and were told “it’s Friday, always quiet.” Huh? They had to explain to us that all summer long people take long weekends to go to their lake houses. The city emptied out to go enjoy summer! After all, winter is the time to hibernate! Enjoy it while you can!

Au contraire! I will be leaving soon to work a cargo ship crossing the Atlantic in order to pay for my bed at the hostel. I hope to sneak into the game, or at least listen to the roar of the crowd from the grounds outside. I’m on a strict budget, unlike my rich Uncle @HOUSE. EDIT: I just looked at tix out of curiosity. A single ticket looked like a good seat and out of place in the pricing scheme. I went to the stadium site to identify how far buried in the middle of the section seat #77 is (I’ll pay EXTRA to be on/near the aisle) only to learn that row 21 only has 76 seats in that section. That’s a bit of a concern……should it be? .

I just have one seat to buy, so it’s not as big of a deal. BUT, if it’s absolutely ridiculous, I have the bold to fall back on. Can’t lose, the way I see it!

My wife wants to run a foundation after she retires. She has worked in and knows that world. She says “everybody LOVES you for giving away someone else’s money!” Good point! I don’t think she’ll ever have a lazy stage. Her mother didn’t need to, but she worked until she died. I seem to have settled into the lazy stage just fine.
