  1. I just don't see Cousins as a NYC guy. There is alot of dung being thrown around today and few answers!
  2. Why on earth would a guy like Cousins want to play for the Jets? I mean really...are they going to give him that much more than anyone else and totally blow the top off the market? What is so compelling about the Jets to Cousins. Are they going to fully guarantee his contract or something? This part makes no sense to me. If the Denver thing happens after yesterdays trade it is not a great day for the Bills IMO. We are down to Minnesota scraps and a forced move up in the draft...which BTW won't be as easy as some seem to think or a sure thing. Tyrod time?
  3. Yolo, where are you getting this info, just curious?
  4. Right! Isn't that what agents are for after all. The Redskins wanted to pay him in the range of Flacco, Tannehill and several others in the 19-22M range, Cousins got 22 something last year I forget exactly. His agent said in FA I can get you at least 27M -like Stafford. Also, you can go to the organization of your choice that believes you are a franchise guy unlike Washingtons organization. Alex Smith had so much stronger team around him than Cousins. I don't get the argument that Cousins hasn't shown he can win as some make. That team might have won 3-5 games without him given the dearth of talent and injuries sustained. 4 of 5 OL injured. Smith with Hunt, Hill, Kelcie had a great year...but he wil likely regress, as that is out of line with his career performance. We shall see what the market really is! My guess is his market is what many have said 25-30. So... he's not overvaluing himself. It's Washington that may have misjudged his market or just decided this is our valuation. They think he and Smith are a wash an 23 M was their ceiling. I can't fault that.
  5. Byrd was banging McDermotts wife! Just kidding
  6. We can get to around 55M easily before sigining Cousins.
  7. Likely, I'm not sure they don't bring Tyrod back though. There are some who think all we need is Peterman! I just don't like the all in on trade up for a QB strategy. Extremely risky! Must explore all options.
  8. I think it would be a huge mistake to not explore the FA market for a QB before the draft. Remember, you can't go back!
  9. My preference is to try and sign Cousins first, and retain the draft capital. I like the idea of bring in some combination of Edmunds, Payne, Vea, Phillips, Sony Michel, etc.
  10. I don't see the salary cap as an issue for the Bills. They could be at 55 million easily.
  11. I never knew the decision would come down to who has the most cap space only! What a joke.
  12. That contract Washington gave Smith is nutz.
  13. Ah Buffalo Bills Fan Syndrome......... we have as good a shot as anyone if we want it.
  14. Bills would be dirty with Cousins and all those draft picks to use.
  15. That's fine. We are going after Cousins because it makes the most sense.
  16. BBFS kicking in with regards to Cousins not wanting to come to town. There are plenty of reasons he would come. Get it down.
  17. I want us to sign Cousins and keep our draft picks.
  18. Good point about Minnesota. I think we are more attractive because of our beautiful weather than Minneapolis. They are scary competition. I've been doing some thinking about the transition tag thing and I have a question for anyone. Why would Cousins sign it...I mean they need to have him sign it right? Can't he wait a week and be FA and go where he wants to anyway?
  19. Nah I 100% disagree. The cash is all going to be the same anyway. The Jets organization is not on as firm a footing with Bowles as we are with McBeane. Plus, I seriously doubt a process guy, who wants to win is going to the Jets. He's not a NYC guy, midwesterner.
  20. I can't believe we still have threads about this clown. I'll just say he was a brutal coach, he didn't work hard, he's not smart, he's boasts about nothing, he doesn't produce, he 's a big, fat phoney.....other than that great dude!
  21. I actually think there are good reasons to be believe the Bills are in contention for Cousins...if they want to be. I'd be most worried about Denver I think as competition. The million dollar question is does McBeane make a play. You can make a pretty strong argument for trying the Cousins plan first and still be able to move up in the draft if it doesn't work out. I hope we don't ignore the FA route on a QB. Love having all those high picks to use. We could be looking pretty strong next year with Cousins at QB and say Vita Vea, Da' Ron Payne, or Harrison Phillips inside, an edge rusher like Davenport, a LB like Edmonds, Evans or Smith, a playmaker like Sony Michel.........! I getting hot just thinking about it.
  22. As you know, I am behind this plan from my posts in other threads. I'll remind you that as Plan A, this requires strong contingency plans because it likely will be tough to make happen. There will be a ton of competition for Cousins, and it really will depend on the situation he wants to be in. The money will all be relatively equal.
