I wasn't happy with the game either. Oliver played well and I thought Ford and Rousseau had some good plays as well. The Bills had 3 turnovers that led to 13 Chargers points. That's what kept the Chargers in the game.
The Harty fumble was utterly stupid and a killer. He wasn't going anywhere and his fumble led to a Charger TD. More importantly it gave the Chargers the belief they could win. This team doesn't play smart ball at times.
Not sure where Thompsett gets his number but he states Bills are currently $29 M over the cap for 2024. He restructures Allen, Diggs, and McGovern. These 3 moves would put the Bills $11 M under the cap. He mentions other moves: Hines, Harty, Martin and Dawkins. A good listen imo.
What if they re-sign both Floyd and Epenesa? Let Miller go after 2024 season. Greg Thompsett did a salary cap preview for next year. Bills could get about $45M under the cap by restructuring Allen, Diggs, McGovern and a 4th player (I believe it was Rasul Douglas). Let Davis go to free agency and draft a WR in the first round. Let Hyde go in FA. If there's a way, I think Beane gets it done. Re-sign Epenesa to a 4 yr deal and re-sign Floyd to a 1 or 2 year deal. I think Miller is done. He'll have next year to prove he's back but not liking his chances.
The Bills seem better focused and having fun. Brady seems to have a plan to exploit the defense and keeps working the plan. The defense is playing better with Joseph and Douglas additions. Dodson is playing better as well.
Titans didn't have DT Jeffery Simmons either. Imagine what Quinnen Williams will do along with the rest of Jets D line.
Did you watch the game last night?
Per Thompsett, the more likely re-structures of Allen, Diggs, Oliver and couple others gets them to $45 Million under the cap. If they do all the available moves, gets them to about $72 Million under. So we're back to can McD get his crap together and close out a close game.
It's crazy to think the 6 - 6 Bills could be 4 - 8, like you said, or they could be as good as 10 - 2. Eagles, Broncos, Pats, and Jets. Bengals and Jags were close games but Bills didn't lead those games.
