Nearly three days after that instant classic I have further thoughts…
juno999 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen was on fire in this game. He looked like he was in complete control of the offense and on top of his game. The ball spot on his slide was absolutely terrible. There was also a terrible spot of a dump off throw to Shakir deep in Bills territory. The second and third offensive series for the Bills was trash play calling. Just way too conservative and predictable. In games like these, need to have urgency on every possession. -
NFL Kickoff 2025: Dallas at Philadelphia (no Bills discussion, please)

Watching that game last night made me appreciate Matt Milano even more. How many times did Hurts burn the Cowboys with his legs for a TD or a first down? -
Bills Initial Roster - No real surprises

I believe Codrington is first to be cut when a roster spot is needed. He can’t play defense. -
Aah. Did not know he’s 29. Bummer

Wilkerson did look good. I was thinking he was this year’s Tyrel Shavers. PS this season and hopefully a breakout next offseason. Hopefully they can keep him around.

Some nicknames are well earned.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season Game 2
juno999 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ll take your word on all these stats. I think Jerry Ostroski summed up the game in the most accurate way. In summary, he said you had 2 teams approaching the game in two different ways. The Bears playing at home trying to change the culture and win the game. The Bills already established team were trying to evaluate their players. Last night’s game was important for some Bills players trying to make the roster. I will say I have some concern at Safety. -

You’re right about Hardy. He is buried on the depth chart. Iirc Couch was dinged up in practice earlier in the week. Don’t know if he was in the joint practice with the Bears. -

To me, it looked like the Bills were trying to evaluate bottom of the 53 roster spots the entire game. As you pointed out above, some good individual performances and too much bad. -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season Game 2

Last year, the Bears crushed the Bills in preseason. The Bears ended up firing their coach and sucked. The Bills won the division, Allen got MVP, and they lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs again. Last night says nothing.- 134 replies

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season Game 2

Anything is possible but I highly doubt they cut him now. It would draw much more criticism by the fan base and as McD pointed out - they don’t know what they have with him. The Safety room is a real concern - Rapp has trouble staying healthy, Hamlin is a marginal player at best, apparently Forrest is terrible, and Cam Lewis is not ideal size. Starting to believe Beane makes a move in acquiring a safety around cut down day. Either a trade or sign a cut down guy. Heck, they may even bring back Poyer since he knows the system. -
I believe they put Van Pran Granger on PUP which creates a spot for Lundt. Looking ahead to the offseason, McGovern and Edwards are FAs and Torrance enters the last year of his rookie deal. Beane has a bunch of OL backups on cheap contracts so I believe he’ll want to keep as many as possible.

I think I’d like it if Jenna Cottrell pulled double duty. -
The 10 longest Home games runs in Buffalo Bills history

I saw that one in person. Sweep right with Reggie McKenzie leading the way. -
I had the utmost respect for Poyer. I lost some on the Keon Coleman hit last year. It really was a dumb play but he was a good Bill and him driving out to KC was fantastic.

Cook signed👀 - 4 / 48 / 30 mil guaranteed

One thing I’ve learned about Beane is don’t bet against him. So if he can get a deal done with McGovern, it wouldn’t surprise me. The salary cap keeps going up so there’s another place for potential cash. I think Edwards is gone next year. -
They need Cook. I like Ty and Ray but they don’t have Cook’s speed. Hopefully they got something done that’s a reasonable number.

Preseason Week 1 Giants at Bills - Game thread
juno999 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
The first defensive series, Tre White missed a tackle on 3rd down. Would have been 4th and about 4 if he makes the tackle. Instead it’s 4th and inches and Giants convert. White didn’t tackle well while in there. -
Do the Bills Even Have a Hated Division Rival?
juno999 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
For me, it’s real easy. Love the Bills and hate the rest. -
I went to a bunch of Bills games with my dad in the 70s. I remember the crowd being electric and full of energy each time OJ touched the ball. He could score from anywhere on the field. After a long run by OJ the crowd would chant Juice! Juice! Juice! It was deafening and truly exhilarating experience. Now we’re experiencing that same energy with 17.

It's Sauce Gardner's turn. Extended through 2030, $120 Million.
juno999 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s good for Gardner but I’m not so sure for the Jets. He’s a good CB but how good is debatable.
