Bills @ Steelers - Preseason Game 2 - Sat 8/17 7PM
juno999 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Morris is fine. MVS went down -
Good - one less preseason game remaining. Bad - Oline was bad. This game reminded me a bit of last year's preseason game against the Steelers. I hate preseason.

Here's the new IR rule effective in 2024. Teams can place 2 players on IR before final cutdowns to 53. Players will miss 4 games. Sorry for the cut and paste. No link. NFL makes significant change to injured reserve rule This will have an impact on preseason roster cuts. By Mookie Alexander@mookiealexander Mar 27, 2024, 7:00am PDT Amid all of the hoopla surrounding the NFL banning the hip-drop tackle and drastically changing the kickoff rules, there’s a major rule change regarding injured reserve that will impact how preseason roster cuts are handled. Previously, if a team placed players on injured reserve (IR) during preseason, it would automatically be season-ending. That is no longer the case thanks to this amendment at the annual league meeting in Orlando. By Competition Committee; amends Article XVII, Section 17.16(C), to permit each club to place a maximum of two players who are placed on an applicable Reserve List on the business day of the final roster reduction to be designated for return. Such players will immediately count as two of the club’s total designations.

Bills fans think this is a great thing for the Dolphins. I mean Tua has beaten Allen two times head to head. The heat game and the Charles Clay dropped TD game. This is great for Tua.

It's not that crazy if Davis is effective in pass protection. Time will tell. -
I remember that game where he dominated against the Bills. Wait ........ Nvm.

What Bills road trips are you doing this year?
juno999 replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills home games which are road trips for me. -
I have NFL+. IIRC you can watch live NFL games on it through your phone.

The Bills currently have 8 picks before compensatory picks. 1st, 2nd, 2nd (Hou -Diggs), 3rd, 4th, 4th (Chi - trade pick), 6th, 6th (Giants - Basham). They currently don't have a 5th and 7th.

This is normal. They usually have around 15 oline guys so they can have 3 lines for training camp. -

It's the Jets baby!! What do you expect? -
Here's what's gonna happen. The Bills will pick some players. Half of the board will be happy. The other half will need a hug.

Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
juno999 replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Personnel changes happen every year. Some years more than others. These players were good Bills and gave us some exciting times as fans. We all had hoped they could bring home a championship. It didn't happen. Players don't last long. It's just the nature of the game plus the salary cap. I'll miss Tre White though. Before his injuries, he was really good and he was fun and funny. Yep gonna miss Tre. -
Players can and do improve year over year. Especially between year 1 and year 2.

As a Bills fan, I appreciate what Diggs brought to the Bills offense. It was an exciting time. After initial shock hearing of the trade, it was time for the Bills to move on. To trade away a player while incurring a $31 M cap hit is pretty telling.
-
Diggs appeared to be on board the first 2 seasons and then the drama kicked in after the contract extension. It must have been pretty bad for them to trade him and take that kind of cap hit.

How would you construct the 2024 Bills WR Room?
juno999 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even before the Bills traded Diggs, I was believing the Bills would make a big move up in the 2025 draft to get WR1. The Bills have too many roster spots to fill in 2024 (S, CB, LB, OL, DT, and WR). I think the Bills draft 2 WRs this year and sign a veteran WR on a 1yr deal. Then bust a move in 2025 draft to get a legit WR1 when the roster is more stable. -
Marino does point out great numbers on Diggs, Davis, Kincaid, and Shakir. Pretty telling of why they traded Diggs and let Davis go in FA. Plus I believe Diggs just wore people out to include Allen.

I never thought PSLs would go as high as $50k. There may be a higher turnover than everyone anticipated. Some people may not even have a choice but to opt out. That sucks.
