great topic. This is going to be a real head scratcher. this regime has been able to get by with low draft picks and cheap vets at the secondary positions just by getting guys who are good in basic zone coverage. But it’s clear you have to play man to beat Lamar and Mahomes. And those great man cover guys are the high draft picks and high-end free agents. i think they have to decide whether they are ready to make a fundamental shift in their defensive philosophy. That will dictate how they approach free agency.

dude had the defensive play of the game for us against the chiefs with that sack. Should have won us the game!

Would you watch a "Consolation" Bowl?

How about this? Winner gets the second overall pick in the draft. -
What are you doing to get out of this funk?

I hear you, man. This one hurt more than any of the others because I allowed myself to feel like we were winning. I was so sure of it when we had the ball, including on the last drive. I Couldn’t sleep last night. i actually even thought of just giving up on the NFL and the Bills altogether. Why put myself through this? But having a few young kids who are die hard fans— I can’t do that. just trying to not think about it…. -
We need to re-think the defensive scheme And the type of players we draft. Big D-lineman, thumper LB, and man corners. it’s clear that that’s the sort of defense we have to run to beat these playoff teams.

Same here. The one play I started to re-live at about 4 am was actually the weird overthrow to Shakir. I think that was a wasted play, which forced us into 3rd and long. The other play was around 6 am, and it was the last play. Bernard has to be able to run with Perrine on that. He tackles him in the open field and we get the ball back.

Agreed. It’s all about execution in the playoffs. i remember the lions win and thinking how well we all executed on offense— guys making hard catches, etc. We needed a broken tackle from coop, or a better block from Torrance, or a hard catch from Kincaid. That would have been the game.

In the end, it all came down to that last Allen pass and execution. Missed block by Torrance and no blitz pickup. That forced Josh to scramble, and not go to Shakir, who was wide open. The heave to Kincaid was actually perfect, and he dropped it. need to execute in the big moments to win in the playoffs.
