    the catch rules just overall defy common sense. You slow anything down to the frame, and it probably doesn’t look like a catch. my rule change would be— if it looks like a catch in real time, then it is. Should be a judgment call, just like calling “holding” is a judgment call. We shouldn’t be looking at surviving the ground or the ball moving.

    what I hate too is how these announcers are like “good play” when the receiver makes some unnatural move to dive back into the defender. That Diggs one was especially bad because he was out of bounds.

    Dude is a head case. He is like 1 bad game or even a bad play away from exploding. If the Steelers traded him away, you know he’s really bad.

    Def PI where the ball is underthrown and the receiver comes back into the defender. that should Be considered an “uncatchable” ball and no penalty. Otherwise, it rewards a bad pass and penalizes good coverage.

    Bigger issue was just not even running the ball, after it was working. It was a 1-score game. Whether cook or ray or TY, we could have kept running that inside stuff and picking up chunk yards. I actually don’t think they ever stopped us on those runs.

    He seems like the equivalent of Dionate Johnson. Going to bounce around the rosters that accept malcontents until he runs out of options.

    The reality is that the McD scheme needs some tweaking. I would prefer we go with three thumper LBs, and some space eaters on the line. Instead, we have the smaller penetrating DLs and the quicker LBs. Even if that scheme worked, these guys like Bernard And Milano are too small and injury prone to play LB.

    The biggest issues I had with the offense: 1) short yardage on O. That’s how we lost the game. Fails on 3rd and 3, 3rd and 2, 3rd and 1, and 4th and 2. 2) abandoning the run in the 4th quarter.

    probably not a popular take, but I absolutely loved the formations and motions the falcons ran. Amazing job of getting Bijan in space. CJ Spiller would be proud!

    I can’t tell how much of this is on Josh. On the 4th and short, it seemed like that was an easy throw to Ty, and instead Josh extended the play and tried that underhand flip.

    I thought we had figured it out after the opening drive of the second half. Heavy personnel. Little Play action. Why did we go away from that?

    I don’t know. Bishop looks even worse than Rapp to me.

    Could tell this was the Falcons night. Penix had about 5 batted balls, which all went right to the falcons. Josh gets a ball tipped and it gently falls to a Falcons defender! Not to mention the likely pick 6 right through Shaq’s hands!

    They easily could have won that game, despite the bad coaching and mistakes. Just some bad execution errors down the stretch. the D played much better in the second half. The O needed to just stick with the run. They abandoned it in the 4th.

    To have any chance, we have to hold them to a FG here.

    On these short yardage 4th down plays, it should be a designed quick play. Watch KC— they have about a million of them.
