Happened to catch the interview with Chris Brown on One Bills Live Friday. Chris said that Foster has impressed in practice and is a really good route runner. He said Saban's knock on Foster was that he lacked Football IQ - the ability to slightly adjust routes slightly based on what he viewed from the D to get open. Chris also said that Ray Ray McCloud has flashed some deep ability. I guess I consider every year a voidable year since there will be no cap hit for letting him go after the 2018 season. The Bills would be on the hook for none of the signing bonus. I think I would rather have the $4.1 million for another need or to rollover unless there is an injury at LB.

Base salaries for the next three years are $4.1M, $4.1M and $9M....that's starters money and he's pretty limited to MLB. Its not just drafting Edmunds but McD loaded up on hybrid cover LBs with Neal, Julian Stanford, Corey Thompson--etc. If the Saints cut him Bills may take a look but a trade to take on those base salaries..no way.

My philosophy as well. After 17 years of no playoffs, say nothing and wait for them to say--"Hey, the Bills look like they are getting better". Then I make some Bills deprecating remark ("we still don't have a legit QB") and get a wry smile....

He has play speed because he anticipates and studies. Always in the right place from the college film I watched. Saban must have loved this young man.

There are "Core players" and there are "supplemental players". Teams likely have 6 to 10 core players that you build around. These are usually top 10 picks (Carson Wentz or Luke Kuechly) or you get Lucky (Brady, Richard Sherman). You keep them for at least two contract cycles. When you have a chance to get two young ones in one draft -- you do it. You rotate your core when they age out. Sure it's a big bet...but both these guys are potential core..add to Tre De'; Dion Dawkins and keep adding. At the end of next year, we may have added another or two (2019 #1 and someone like Matt Milano who emerges)...that would be 5 or 6 core players with 3 years or less experience. That's a solid foundation of playmakers. Its all a crapshoot, but I like the way the Bills are playing their hand...

Allen Tweets were because of Ambien.....you heard it here first. Difficult for me to get excited yet. The issues with bad decision making and bad mechanics Josh appears to have are brought about by in-game pressure. That is really the only true test. We are going to have to all be patient. There will be the occasional 3 interception half and a critical turnover that seals an opponents victory. I am sure there is a cut Josh Allen thread or two in our future as a forum.
