  1. I'd need to see him take a few big hits before I'm completely convinced.
  2. Zach Mss? Well, if the Bronco contract #s are correct, I'm fine with it. Beane was never going to pay Gordon more than that, IMO. And I'm good with that. With that said, for the right price, I think Gordon would have fit in quite well with Singletary in this Bills O. But finding a #2 RB shouldn't be all that hard to do, and I have confidence Beane will get it done.
  3. I'm posting this here, as I can't see another place it fits, and I'm not sure it deserves its own thread. I may change my mind and start one later, if this doesn't get any action here. All this talk about not being able to conduct physicals makes little sense to me. Yes, it complicates the process a bit, but they can't figure out a way to get this done remotely? There are no decent local doctors (virtually anywhere) who would be willing to work with the team doctor linked in remotely? Ever hear or telemedicine? Why can't the team doctor be there, on facetime/skype or some medical equivalent? Xrays, ultrasound results, etc, can be transmitted virtually instantly to the team doctor. He can ask the local doctor to check this, or that. I just don't see this as being a huge issue, yet I've heard nobody suggest this as a solution. What am I missing here?
  4. Good thing you're "just joshin". Otherwise that would be a real stupid comment.
  5. Total drivel. The 49ers had Montana and Young. Too bad neither was good enough to be a #1 QB Stop with the "wise man" quotations. They mean NOTHING. EDIT: I should add, Parcells remark (specifically about QBs) was likely saying a team needed to DECLARE a starting QB and stick with him. Using multiple QBs rarely works out in the NFL. But multiple WRs are on the field all the time. If you really wanted to question Diggs ability to be a true #1 WR (whatever that means, these days), you might want to see how often he was doubled covered, as opposed to Thielen (or another WR on the team). Not just looking for meaningless out-of-context quotations.
  6. As these are four different teams, involved in two different trades, i'm not sure any of the details in one is relevant to the other. If they are, than ALL the details (contracts info for example) need to come into play. I agree AZ got a better deal for Hopkins than the Bills did for Diggs. Doesn't make the Diggs trade worse in any way. EDIT: Actually I should say, Houston got a worse deal than the Vikings. Still doesn't make any difference for the Bills/Vikes deal.
  7. Despite being a good coach, Parcells said a lot of stupid stuff over the years. This ranks close to the top of that list.
  8. What you are saying is, AZ got a better deal from Houston than the Bills did from Minny, right? So? One has nothing whatsoever to do with the other. Plus AZ gave up a productive player. The Bills gave up draft choices---most of which they can fairly easily recover if they think they need them.
  9. I didn't realize it was impossible for a team to have multiple players of great talent, at the same position. How could I be so naive?
  10. NO! He MUST be 312 lbs! Silly, I know. The stuff some people believe
  11. Since I don't think Big Curt has returned to this thread, I'll assume this was just a troll post. Maybe I'm wrong. But how you can equate the two moves is beyond me. Watkins (and all rookie players) are a crap shoot. You have to wonder: Will they adapt to the NFL game? (Diggs has proven he can---did) Will money make them lazy and ineffective? (Diggs is very effective, even after the new contract) Can he adjust to a new QB? (Diggs has been effective with as many as four different starting QBs) Plus he only cost ONE 1st round pick, not TWO., So what was your question again?
  12. Some would argue siting stats alone, without a deeper context of their roles, offenses, circumstances, etc, is a rather shallow way to compare two different players from two different teams. Some might, for example, point out that Diggs was either Co-#1 (some argue he was #2) with Thielen while Brown was a clear #1 in the Bills offense in 2019. Some might point out that Diggs was targeted on 94 plays, getting similar results as Brown, who was targeted on 115 plays. Some would definately point out that Diggs has been the more consistent producer of the two, over the years. While Brown had a near career year with the Bills, Diggs (in a year where he had some issues and was deemed unhappy with the Vikes offense) had his second straight 1,000 yard plus season.
  13. George Dickel is spelled "whisky" and I love that stuff. Especially the 13-year old BiB release. The spelling doesn't necessary tell you if it's Scotch or Canadian or Bourbon, as they are simply different spellings of the same word. But I'm a bourbon guy. Hard to find bad bourbon (unless you go overpaying for a lot of this underaged "craft" garbage). Very easy to find horrible Scotch, I'm with you, a bit, on that. I do happen to be an ice freak, and love my bourbon with a lot of it. But I'm mostly sticking to 100 proof + bourbon, these days.
  14. On the surface that seems like a lot, until you really look at what the Bills gave up. They gave up their 1st and "change" for Diggs. Yes, an extra 5th and 6th round pick I consider "change" as I do next year's 4th. Of course even change adds up. But 5th and 6th round draft picks go back and forth between teams all the time in trades. If Beane REALLY wants that 5th or 6th back, how hard to you think it will be to recover it? One trade down a couple slots in the 3rd recovers the 5th. He'll replace those picks in a heartbeat, if he really needs them.
  15. I eat in a fast food restaurant maybe 5 times a year. Today I had to get somewhere quick and was just famished. Figured I'd try Wendy's new "America's Favorite Breakfast". (Really? You've been serving breakfast for 5 minutes and you're already America's favorite. Fortunately it's just too stupid too even be misleading.) Bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant. Small sandwich with maybe 2 half pieces of bacon. That and a small coffee was $5 and change. It sucked. Don't care that it was small. I don't much care that it was overpriced. I care that it sucked.
  16. Indeed. Nobody should admit to being excited about Rex as their HC.
  17. https://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-hurricanes/fl-sp-hurricanes-turnover-chain-aj-machado-north-carolina-20171117-story.html They sure won it a lot, though.
  18. ? Stunning stupidity, even for a newbie on TBD. Well done, sir Setting a new (low) standard. ?
  19. Looking forward to seeing a mass of Bills fans in thd stands today. Make us proud!
  20. Sometimes when I get wings outside of WNY, I will get them plain. Then I take them home and toss them in my own sauce. If I have some rapport with the place, sometimes I just bring my own sauce and ask the kitchen to use mine. Never been a problem. Then again, I make sure to bring plenty extra, so the cooks can try some, too.
  21. Very well deserved. Congrats!
  22. That makes me a little sad. But based on my experience over the years I can attest if you find a Biils tailgate you will likely to be welcome. I typically bring alcohol to share, if I'm not at my own tailgate. You'll find they are usually happy to share their food and appreciate any sincere contribution. It goes without saying, be moderate in what you take and how you behave.
  23. I'm seriously jealous. If I hadn't just spent all my available cash on moving I'd join y'all in a heartbeat. Ranch has no place with anything. It's simply slightly flavored mayonnaise. Yeech. Besides neither blue cheese nor ranch belong on the wings. The blue cheese is for the crudites. You do realize he asked for a STEAKHOUSE, right? ? And my one contribution to those lucky enough to be there: ALWAYS ask for your wings to be "extra crispy". Never just expect them to be served properly cooked, especially outside of WNY. I also make it a point to order my pizza "Well done. Crispy." Then when it comes out soggy I have a legitimate complaint. Sorry I don't have more interesting advice. To those going, Salute! ?
