Petty Whine - put it here. Let it all out
The Dean replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Indeed I am familiar with the need. Thanks. -
Holy crap. I had completely forgotten about Red Barn. Dunno if I ever actually got any food from one.

Speaking of Tom, he hasn't posted in some time. Anyone know if he's doing OK? -
Von Miller tests positive for Covid 19
The Dean replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What? I thought he was teasing a primetime special tomorrow night to break his BIG NEWS! He obviously doesn't care if it is actually news. At this point, nobody really can say for sure what will happen. With that said, I will be a bit surprised if the season starts on time. -
RIP. Great actor. I particularly like his performance in The Belly of an Architect.

Same on both counts. I now have less than a 1/2 inch of a 2oz bottle of terrible smelling sanitizer in my car. That's the only place I really need it, as I can wash my hands anywhere else. I may have to resort to toting soap, bottled water and clean towels with me. -
Any Position the Bills wouldn't take the BPA in Round 2?
The Dean replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I very rarely use absolutes, but I'll make an exception here. No QB drafted in 2020 will push Allen for the starting QB job. Even with the typical offseason, I'd say there is virtually no chance. But with no offseason program in place, the odds go to ZERO (practically speaking), IMO. Only a veteran FA signing/trade would even be considered "competition" this year. -
You do understand there are ways. other than the draft, to acquire players---right? And I also don't buy the conclusion the Bills won't draft a K just because there haven't been any interviews reported. But I suspect (with the exception of an exceptional college K available late in the draft) House Money's competition will be drawn from FA and UDFA candidates. Most NFL kickers were not drafted.

Simon, this is just a depth signing. Nothing more. Honestly, to me it looks like a fairly interesting depth signing as opposed to "just fill the post before camp starts". You guys are right, it isn't addressing other positions that need to be addressed. It (plug your nose) is what it is. Judge it as that. You can't possibly believe they did this INSTEAD of addressing the other needs, right? It ain't prime rib today. It's a burger, or perhaps leftovers. Judge it on it based on what it is. OK, I'm stoned.

Betamax quality is much better though. I'm betting on Beta!

Still here in St Augustine. As I'm a (very low level) IT guy I guess I'm "essential". But I'm basically only doing remote, or pickup and return, work. Typically I do most of my work on-site. So needless to say things are pretty slow. Still clients call me constantly and I help them if I can. Wonder if I'll see any payment for this work? Hope you are finding ways to keep busy.

Quick question. Now that they are recommending anyone out in public wear a mask, I thought that was (at least partially) to protect you from the airborne droplets left after someone coughed/sneezed. I understand (when they were suggesting people who were well leave the masks for others) the main use for the masks is/was to protect others. But aren't these homemade masks meant to protect you, as well? -
Even with GPS, I still miss those. I've always thought Google Maps (or someone else) should have a "TripTik" print option. "Okay, honestly, who still uses a pay phone? I'd rather kiss the Outbreak monkey than use a pay phone."--Marty Deeks, NCIS LA Still around. Though in most places that I've seen, you have to pay the bartender (or cashier) and he/she has to push a button so you can use the machine. Protection against under-age smokers.

Bob Dylan’s new song, “Murder Most Foul.”
The Dean replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Neither is bad art. I'm a Dylan fan. So I gave the song a few more listens. Still think it's a lousy song, and nowhere near Dylan standards. But I may have been a bit too harsh on his singing. Don't get me wrong, Dylan's voice has deteriorated badly in recent years. But I now actually think he is trying to sing on this one. It's just a brutally boring tune, IMO. I'm also wondering if Bob just found out about the JFK assassination. The 60's were a wild time. He could have simply forgotten. (And obviously I'm only kidding. Every tune doesn't have to be about current events.) -
Bravo!

Bob Dylan’s new song, “Murder Most Foul.”
The Dean replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
No because while Palmer has a stronger (and probably technically better) voice than Donald, Fagen is by far the better singer. Dylan never had a good voice, but he was a good singer nonetheless. Alas his voice as deteriorated a bit, and he also seems to be less interested in his singing these days, from what I've heard from him in recent years. Compare that to a guy like Prine. Another guy with a marginal voice, but who knows how sing. Even though his voice was ravaged by cancer and surgery, he seemed to become even more interested in his singing. Mostly though, I find this tune is just boring. It's funny because it sounds just like a song a friend of mine many wrote many years ago about our yearly cottage vacation in Canada. But my friend is a doctor, not a songwriter. The song is about our group of friends, so we tend to like it a bit. And quite honestly, there is more going on musically in my buddy's tune. This just doesn't seem like a great Dylan tune to me. I'm sure it's making him some cash, so good for him. For the record, I don't think it would be a good tune even if Van Morrison sang it. It might make a decent poem, though. -

No idea how effective this might be. But it's a hoot! https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOqbJestwsUtBNqY1QVuGqTIwdElvQvpTu6v9sFun6RaYvH1nHYGjbH1OgOYl7j6g/photo/AF1QipPWkjcZlMzexMSSW2HoQCUM9NzfUPTvq2XS9b2w?key=Q0U4VHg0Zi14ZHpRbTF1WXJCRFRlWHFCQjk0X1lR -

Still slow burning? Quick advice : STOP! Anything positive coming from it? If not, why bother? -

I came to post that. Disgusting. But since this is a pinned thread, perhaps not appropriate. But I bet it works! -
Very impressive leg, but as others have pointed out, what percentage is he making? Even then, this is VERY different than kicking FGs in a game. No snap, no rush, no holder. While he isn't kicking off a tee, he otherwise has total control of his strike point---and there is zero pressure. What happens when timing comes into play? What if it isn't PERFECT? What if the hold isn't PERFECT? What if there is a bad a$$ rush coming at him. I'm not suggesting he isn't worth a look, but to me, this is a lot like QB Alex Tanney doing trick shots. Not sure it translates to game situations,.

Saw a guy today at the grocery store wearing the air pods the exact same way. Maybe it's a thing. For the record they looked stupid on this guy, too.
