  1. Not when comparing individual players on very different teams, with very different schemes. I'd venture to say judging a WR on wins alone is dumber than using stats alone. Using W's as the sole criterion should be reserved for individual sports. Good analysis is typically a multi-factor process. But you know that.
  2. I'd say "don't look at stats w/o context". Are stats meaningful? Of course they are. They are much more meaningful- with CONTEXT! Stats are are merely one part of the complete picture.
  3. RIP Mort. You were one of the great ones.
  4. Like or hate any particular color rush uni, the clash of dueling garish monochrome teams made for some butt ugly TV. Hence its demise, IMO.
  5. I know this wasn't directed to me. But I haven't watched/listened to the shows much, but I check the site out several times a day. I have to agree with DCBills on this. He seems to usually doubt/pick against the Bills. He got a bit better in the latter half of last season. That's my general recollection and I could be wrong. But that's fine by me. I actually prefer when the Bills are doubted, picked against. I'm even OK with them being completely ignored. (Though then I jones for new Bills content.) Plus, as I mentioned earlier, I have no respect or interest for his football knowledge Dunno why he wearing them that way. Is that a "thing"? I think they look stupid even when worn correctly.

  7. This is a very nice article from two years ago. https://radiomilwaukee.org/discover-music/artist-interviews/john-prine-interview/
  8. Very moving. Thanks.
  9. For me: Bourbon Cognac Third one is a toss-up between gin, vodka and tequila My lower alcohol mixers will be: Wine (including champagne) Beer Irish Creme (mostly for coffee) Amaretto (mostly for deserts) If forced to reduce to only ONE alcoholic beverage (perish the thought) I'd probably opt for champagne (or any GOOD dry sparkling wine) as it goes with just about everything.
  10. Gotta admit, it took me some time to figure out what Happy Enchilada meant. How ya doing, Simon?
  11. While not a big fan of any of these sports talk shows, I have seen some PFT Live. And it isn't terrible usually. I've heard Florio admit he's a hot-take, shiny-thing kind of guy. IMO he is better on camera than in print. And I respect (and like) what he was able to accomplish. Like a couple friends of mine, he left the law to do something closer to his passion. He is obviously a relentless worker as he seems to be everywhere all the time. Honestly I think this is one of Florio's ONLY advantages when it comes to "reporting" (the other being his knowledge in the law when reporting legal issues. Sometimes when he talks about football I wonder if he just started watching it recently. There are posters right here on the wall with a FAR better understanding of the game, IMO. There are a slew of problems with journalistic integrity on the site (especially with Florio's pieces). He consistently second guesses GM moves, player contract decisions, etc, with no special knowledge of what went into the actual decision making. I can barely stand when posters on this site go into the "this is what they should have done" rants. He has personal crusades where he constantly pushes his agendas. Even when I agree with his position, his total lack of professionalism when presenting his takes completely turns me off. One of the funny (but more egregious) areas is when he calls out other reporters for journalistic problems. I think that's something he should stay FAR away from.
  12. I'd love for Tony Eason to play QB again for the Pats*. ?
  13. I got the itis. Haven't had a big meal like tonight in quite awhile
  14. Which has always led me to ask, what's with "botanical vodka"? It's gin, right? Although if there isn't juniper is it REALLY gin?
  15. Not the biggest Florio fan. Love his site, but most of his "takes" are inane and he seems to be VERY full oh himself. But credit when it's due. Ok. One more time https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/04/08/bills-g-m-brandon-beane-joins-pftpm-for-extended-chat/
  16. Love the Swannie, but they were horribly stupid in this case. I trust when they pay their fines and do their penance, they will be back open at some point. Here is St Augustine I still see several businesses blatantly violating the stay in place rules. And I'm not talking about possibly "essential" businesses. Unless of course you think something like an antique store is essential.
  17. Understandable, since the topic is so very timely and Bob is in such GREAT voice!
  18. RIP John
  19. Several, actually. Though I would argue they have nothing to do with an authentic margarita: The lineup An authentic margarita:
  20. I'm an old-school gin fan and don't really have that much use for these newfangled funny tasting products labeled as "gin". But I do like some of the more traditional super premium offerings, like Bombay Sapphire (though I don't care for the East product). To me the best thing to happen to gin in the past 30 or so years is premium quinine water, such as Fever Tree and Q.
  21. Withers was a major talent. But he suffered from terrible stage fright. This story was recently posted on a Steely Dan message board by a SD insider, all around music insider and great guy, Pete Fogel:
  22. I voted. But just to be clear, this isn't "not a truly 100% scientific pool". This has absolutely ZERO scientific value as it is generalizable to no population whatsoever. It is a 100% NON-Scientific poll. Science has nothing to do with polls like this. But yes, they can be fun
  23. That's no petty whine. That's some serious s#it! Thoughts and prayers go out to you.
  24. Not a dumb question at all. In fact, when I first looked at the apartment, I just assumed that is what it was. Alas, nope.
