  1. Dawg, you kill me. I just teared up reading the last part. Thank you to you and your wife for sharing such a precious moment. Sometimes, heroes actually do live up to the hype. I know my Dad meets that bill. If you knew him you’d understand. He’s turning 95 this August, and at his funeral, there will be every VIP around including the bishop. I expect the Basilica will be over 1,000 in attendance. Thank you again on Josh. It makes me love this guy that much more.
  2. If it were me, I’d tell the agent you’re client has a few choices… 1. Take a 2 year $20 mil. And $15 guaranteed. 2. He plays out his contract, and we intend to tag him. That will probably between this year the next secure him $19 mil. 3. Sign the tag, and sit out the year, get older, make no $, and don’t accrue another year towards retirement. Those are youre options. Pick 1. Id hope he’d accept the tag as no matter what we have him for 5 years, and the shelf life of most RB’s not name Henry after 27 yrs. Old.
  3. Jackson or Sanders are going to shine more than we expect. Maybe Walker as he is a penetrator. He’s a nice compliment to Oliver. Different types of penetrators.
  4. It was definitely over 24 like my favorite show last decade. I’m guessing if you included some safety blitzes and DT sacks you’re looking at 35-39 sacks. Sanders could be a pleasant surprise this year. Breaking it down per DE is too difficult as you can’t predict Bosa’s health, how does the rookie perform, and maybe even big Walker has a few. The other part is we just don’t know how the rotation works which places each DE at a more difficult than other DE of other teams as they play a greater % of plays. Each of our guy is out there no more than 50-60% of the time.
  5. It was in the neighborhood of 17 years at least after October as i knew it was hopeless by 11/1. I always had hope and still watched all the games only because I’m a masochist. Its probably why I get frustrated by some of the young fans who dont understand minus the SB years from 1988-2006, and maybe 2008-9 when we had the #1 defense in the nation, and flutie was fun to watch. The early 80’s after 1982 when Knox keft was miserable until 88 when we were on the goal post for the 2nd version of fandemonium, was an absolute horrible. I still have nightmares over guys like Kay Stephenson, the baffoon. Why these young people whine about McD and Beane is laughable. It’s like when you see the bratty kid in the grocery store throw repeated tantrums, and you just are witnessing weakness in parenting. Blending firmness with a loveable side so they know you care deeply.
  6. The counter to this is the NFL is the most violent professional league with 53 active staff, and 17 PS. They already have made a lot of progress in guaranteed contracts. Not Watson, but across the board with starters. It would be financially irresponsible to have all guaranteed contracts. It would also be foolish. What do you do about the $250 mil. QB contract and gets a career ending injury in the 3rd game of the season of season 1 of a 5 year contract. It will never happen. Besides Im a fan, and really dont care how either side manages their business. Football is not a career. Not when the avg life of an NFL player is still inder 4 years.
  7. Not a surprise, but thanks 619er for the post. By far, my all time favorite Bills or any QB in history. I’d take him over Mahomes any day of the week and twice in Sundays.
  8. I mentioned keep the shout song for scoring, and for 1st downs sandman, or another fun hardcore song. On defense when we stuff them or pick up a fumble or pick, I’d add “One” from Metallica. Just the refrain. Imagine, GROOT sacks dad bod Mahomes, and “And it starts with, I CANNOT LIVE, I CANNOT DIE, ABSOLUTE HORROR, taking the life out of me”. This was pre-powerlifting song along with Freebird before meets. You don’t get up for these songs, you’re dead or in a coma. Anyway, just having fun with it. Just don’t ever change the Shout Song, and make sure you had the clips from Boomer, and Coach Levy.
  9. No thanks. He’s in the tail end of his career. We were better off with Hairston and if we needed experience with Tre. Don’t you guys remember how he left. He was a hair better than McGahee’s departure.
  10. I think it was the WGR morning show that re-aired the audio from the KC sports analyst. He did not do Mahomes any favors on that editorial.
  11. Shocker. Im not one to blame the refs for a loss or win, but this was overwhelming. Its not like it was one game or one referee crew. its in the past so moving onto this year. At least Allen has his mvp so maybe we get a few breaks as well. I like many just want a fair game for both sides. No making excuses either way.
  12. Thanks bud as I love both of those songs. I just think 1st down wins makes sense. They can alternate or whatever. Just don’t change tradition for the last 37 years. That would be a sin. Were called the Bills Mafia for a reason. Tradition matters.
  13. If they wanted Thunderstruck or Sandman for 1st downs, that’s an effective compromise. You can’t mess with the scoring song since 1988. It’s tradition. That should never change. I want to tell my grandchildren 20 years from now they’ve played the Shout song for 57 years when I’m 77.
  14. Gregg, I’m making a bold assertion we’ll sweep this division even without him. Remember the next most important is strength of opponents. I’m guessing the Bucs will win their division for a 5th year, and the SB champs is a no brainer. I do sincerely respect youre opinion. I mean that, but I’ve thought about your point. Ijust don’t see the Bills ever losing to the dumpster fires if the Fish, and the Jests. Maybe I can see the Cheats as Maye is good and they bought a lot of players. So if any compromise, I’d add the Cheats. I’m not saying Bosa doesn’t play at all against the above two teams, but limit them to only obvious passing downs. My guess is the two teams will be playing from behind.
  15. As far as the defense, since Hecht and Ogunjobi are out for 6 weeks then the bye, we need Bosa for 7 games in the regular season. I say this to play it as safe as possible. If they play in other games, it needs to be significantly limited. Maybe obvious pass plays only. For the whole game, I propose to think about the following for playing the whole game. Baltimore Chiefs Bucs Texans Steelers Bengals Eagles These are must have games for Bosa. The others as stated would be only maybe 3rd down passing plays, so we significantly limited access to be injured. Of course we’ll need him for all of the playoffs. The good news is our toughest opponents minute the Ravens are after the bye, and as a result can load manage Bosa. Maybe with a full year, he can instill confidence in fans and the team he may be completely healed.
  16. Dude, you often make me laugh. I had for years in my garage a “Squish the Fish”. Poster, and bought shirts for my sons and I and told them only on those two Sundays, please wear it. They responded we thought you hated the Cheatriots more (they actually stated cheatriots). I responded, you guys always tell me how old I am at 57, and I suffered through at least the last 7 of the 10 years watching us lose badly to the Fish in the 70’s.
  17. This always reminds me of the classroom discussion of fear, and Shane Falco talks about Quicksand. Quicksand is exactly the way I feel it was like being in the drought. We were in quicksand. Shaw, I believe is reminding us of that feeling vs.now. We always have a shot, every year, but 31 teams are disappointed every year including us. Thanks Shaw as I appreciate it. It seems more and more popular to criticize everything about the leadership of the team, yet forgetting all too quickly the quicksand of 17 years of a drought.
  18. Before my time, but my dad. Told me about Cookie Gilcrest’s pink Cadillac. He said people would say is “Lookie Lookie, here comes Cookie”. He sounds like a character. As far as others I’ve me several of the famous Bills from the early 90’s era. Most were good memories.
  19. Wel the day is over and we finished it off watching just the two of us “The Patriot”. 9 years in from China and still teaching my wife all of the beautiful facets that weave into our history and what it means to us.
  20. It’s likely speculation Ravens/Bills vs. the Eagles. I dont see the Chiefs getting to the dance this year. They may not even win their division as they finally have competition in Denver and LA. Its amazing what happens when you get a winning HC like Payton or Harbaugh. I just dont see the Rams, Bucs getting to the SB. Maybe Detroit.
  21. Happy Birthday America! I hope everyone outside of the bbq, beer, and most importantly family! Let’s not forget why we are celebrating today. Enjoy
  22. I’m happy for Dawson and his family. Enjoy the journey as it was a wonderful one for us. My sons are 26 and 24, and daughter 21. They’ve grown into wonderful young adults and I enjoyed every hurdle. So Dawson enjoy how wonderful being a dad is and truly fulfills you’re life.
  23. This issue is not a joke, so for me I’ll wait until the facts come out. I table judgement on these matters as it could be true and that’s disgusting, or a $ grab by someone wanting to cash in like what happened to Araiza. I’m glad Araiza finally had a 2nd chance with KC. So my point is just let’s wait and we’ll find out if there is merit to the suit. We need him so a suspension would stink.
  24. I always him. He started out in a rocky situation in SF, but then turned it around at KC and had success. He also had success at the Redskins before his catastrophic injury. I work in medicine, so unfortunately have seen too many car accident victims with these compound fractures. He’s blessed and cursed. Meaning the subsequent infection to not have an amputation is a miracle. Cursed in the news I hadn’t seen by his his daughter. I sincerely hope she is ok. To make it back on the field even for a brief time was an even larger miracle.
