  1. The most important thing this defense is designed to do is not give up the big play. Bishop getting absolutely torched in the Houston game signed his bench ticket until next season. McD would much rather have a guy in there who doesn’t give that up even if he doesn’t make many big plays at the safety position, that’s Hamlin. If Edwards can’t get on the field even though he’s been here through the first 8 games then no way do we bring in a safety who’s never been in the system unless it’s an all pro guy like Baker or Honey Badger and I doubt we are doing either of those.
  2. Poyer was washed last year. Why do you think he was playing in the box all the time? Tre, as much as I love him, is done as well. If they cut him I’d have no problem putting him on the PS just for the good vibes but his playing days are over. Hilarious that people think he can be converted to safety when he was never a great tackler. I don’t have a problem moving Edwards if McBeane thinks it’s the right thing to do but unless we are getting Honey Badger or a solid safety backup I don’t see it happening.
  3. I get the vibe that our guys hate Miami as much as we do. IDK why, but I think they take pleasure in dominating the sht out of them. I have no worries we won’t be psyched up and ready to play. I expect our O-line to continue their domination so our offense should be able to put up points fairly regularly. It’s a division game though, and even in the depths of the drought every few years we’d steal one from the Pats* and you think at some point Miami has to win one. They did get the BS win during the 200 degree heat game, so maybe that will count for a while. So it really comes down to just limiting Miami’s offense. I think Bernard will be back, and Von will definitely help. Our safeties have been playing much better the last few weeks, especially Rapp. Our corners are lock down but I don’t expect a lot of man coverage this week unless we can’t stop the run with our usual light box. If we can play 2 high zone and keep them from running down our throat I don’t think Miami will be able to keep up.
  4. No sht? I had no idea. Still a NO though
  5. All we have to do is bully them in the trenches like we always do, and this year our O-line is MEAN Miami is a soft, soft franchise. They are soft from the top down. Hill got his bag, he doesn’t care anymore. Their defense sucks and is decimated. Josh should have an AFC Player of the Week award in the bag when its all said and done. Even if they somehow keep it close, Buffalo will pull this one out in the end. I hope it’s an absolute laugher and over by halftime but it is a division game so despite our overwhelming advantage, you never know.
  6. I didn’t realize he was still in the league to be honest, so that’s a NO from me Dog
  7. What an absolute dominating team win. Who cares about MVP, 300 yard games, how many WRs have 100 yards, etc. Some of you stat whores need to relax. It’s a W. That’s all that matters. Miami is going to get a BEAT DOWN next week. For your amusement, go over to Fin Heaven and enjoy the meltdown. Absolute delusional fan base. Bunch of clowns. We are on to Miami
  8. There’s no liability for physicians because no doc would give Tua a 100% green light. Every neurologist who didn’t tell Tua to stop outright would give some variation of “ I feel the risk of severe neurological damage if you continue playing is low, but it’s not zero. The safest thing would be to retire, but if you decide to continue playing you run the risk of permanent damage even if that risk is low”
  9. IDK if Josh has lost a step but he definitely hesitates to run. There have been several times I’d have liked him to take off and run for a first down or more but he’s hesitating a half second now and the window is closed where as in years past he’d take off immediately. It’s probably a combination of his early season hand injury and coaching from McD/Brady to use his head more and legs less. Also, I’ve definitely noticed more teams having a dedicated spy on Josh. Why Brady has not used that to scheme up an advantage I have no idea. If they are spying him that means there are other defenders with increased responsibilities that we should be able to take advantage of by scheme. I have hope that when we get towards the end of the season/playoffs that they will unleash the Mustang and Josh will take a few teams by “surprise” by using his legs more.
  10. We know they are going to continue to run the light box nickle/dime looks we’ve been doing all season since we are once again down 2 starting LBs in Milano/Bernard. Both Spector and Williams are very vulnerable to the play action pass, which thankfully Seattle doesn’t run a lot of but they’d be stupid not to incorporate that against Buffalo. We know Seattle will be able to run the ball since our D sucks against the run and we insist on giving light boxes to opposing offenses. If ever there was a game where we should adjust our philosophy on D, this is it. No Metcalf means a lot less stress from the Seattle WR position. Put Douglas and Benford man to man on their guys and see what they can do. I’d bring in Mike Edwards or Bishop and have him play the Jordon Poyer position (basically in the box) instead of Lewis and get Lewis off the field. IDK if you guys have noticed but Lewis gets targeted and smoked regularly when he’s on the field. Not sure why we haven’t seen much Ingram after his hot start especially with Lewis crapping the bed. What do I think will happen? We are going to come out in our traditional nickle D, let them march down the field with running/play action/short throws in space where we get torched by scripted plays against our obvious defensive deficiencies. We are going to hope Josh and the O can keep it close until Babich/McD wake up and make adjustments, hopefully before the 3rd quarter this game. Rinse and repeat Still think we should win
  11. Hasn’t every Miami QB this year gotten hurt behind that sieve of an O-line? He’s going to be under constant pressure. Tua is definitely going to alter his game to Miami’s detriment. He’s never been a big runner but he’s not going to run at all now. Those balls are going to be coming out quicker than ever so cover his first read, as has been the book on him, and he won’t extend the play too long before chucking it OOB.
  12. Is there any data that shows that guardian caps protect against concussions? I haven’t seen it.
  13. I thought Schoen would be a lot better. Daboll is who I thought he was - not much without Josh.
  14. This is a joke, right? McD wants nothing to do with Dabol, and he probably wants nothing to do with McD. Look at the handshake after the Giants game last year. There’s no love lost between those two. Ridiculous to even suggest this when our current OC is 11-3 in the regular season and has plenty of room to improve
  15. I love these Sundays. It’s gorgeous out here in New England as well. Bills win, Cooper made an immediate impact, Bass looked confident for the first time in a year and his mechanics looked much better, Josh made better decisions in the second half, Carter starting to emerge, Keon had his coming out party and looks to be getting it, safety play looked solid. Yeah a horrific first half but seemed like something clicked after that failed idiotic 4th down play by the Titans. I hope this carries over next week and we start to gel and roll. I’m off to Fin Heaven with a bourbon in hand to laugh at those idiots after LOSING to the Colts hahahahahah. God I hate Miami. Happy Victory Sunday/Monday gents
  16. I was calling BTJ meh in a previous thread but he’s definitely having his coming out party. Stopped the drops and has showed some great footwork.
  17. Uggh I’m concerned for the kid. I give Miami credit for putting him on IR so there wasn’t any pressure to play him. It’s just a matter of time before it happens again. Hopefully it’s not a bad one and he decides to hang it up. BTW, Josh definitely had his bell rung in the Houston game and I’m dumbfounded how he was allowed back into the game and wasn’t even placed in the protocol. I know they evaluated him but yikes.
  18. I love Benford but he wasn’t elite against the Jets. First bad game this season. He gave up like 85 yards and a TD. Wilson smoked him several times.
  19. You guys are joking right? There’s no way anyone is afraid of Mason F’n Rudolph. Guy is a statue back there with a noodle arm. At least Levis had the potential to beat you deep or scramble for a lot of yards. Rudolph is a known quantity - he sucks. We destroyed him when he was with Pit. He’s had 2 days of practice. If we can’t beat this garbage team convincingly we don’t deserve to cake walk to the AFC East title.
  20. Eh you’re right I could have phrased that better. I should have said we didn’t have the right mix of talent in our WR room to make “everybody eats” successful when teams played man coverage and closed the middle of the field. I do give Beane credit for recognizing what was wrong and going out and getting an excellent receiver who’s skill set matches what we were missing and at a cheap price to boot.
  21. Welcome back Filthy Beast Which receiver in 2024 would you have been willing to give up significant draft capital to move up for? None of these guys are screaming out of the gates and they all need some seasoning. It will be interesting to see how Keon responds to more of the attention being paid to Cooper/Kincaid
  22. This is a ridiculous take for anyone who has watched the NFL for a long period of time. First of all, Coleman wasn’t a 1st round pick so how you look at him is irrelevant. He was a second rounder coming in to a team which was supposed to have Diggs as the #1 until he went mental. No one expected him to be blowing the doors off as a rookie. He’s met or exceeded expectations after 6 GAMES as a rookie. Name one first round WR in 2024 who’s going off. Marvin Harrison Jr has been meh. Worthy has the same stats as Keon. Brian Thomas Jr. drops half his passes right now. Lagette is meh at best. McConkey isn’t doing anything. WR does not translate well from college to Pros. It often takes these guys a year or two to get the nuance of route running down, and they aren’t physically dominant over their competition like they were in college. Reed took time. Moulds took a couple years. Evans took 2 years although he had some good plays as a rookie. Watkins didn’t do jack and then broke his foot.
  23. I love the addition, this is the guy I’ve wanted from since it became apparent “Everybody eats” was a failure. Consummate professional. Quiet leader - the Anti-Diggs (I loved Diggs before he went batsht). Immediately becomes our #1 WR at the empty X position. Will draw coverage away from Kincaid, Shakir, Coleman. Outright home run by Beane from a draft pick/salary standpoint. If he works out, great, we have a leg up on re-signing him for a couple years. If he doesn’t, we get a 4th or 5th comp pick next year. His presence on the field Sunday will open up the passing game. I don’t expect anything, just having him running routes will draw coverage and decrease Mac Hollins snaps.
  24. Now you are moving the goal posts. I said Allen was ON this week and he was, especially compared to the last 2 weeks. He made good decisions, didn’t turn over the ball, the game was slower for him, and he used his legs effectively. IDK what else you want from a QB to say he was on, especially with the lack of WRs like you mentioned.
  25. W. That’s all that matters. 4-2. We beat the Jets and the Refs Best part was Josh’s was ON. No happy feet, in control and made good decisions. Not to mention the game winning 3rd down run. O-line was nasty again against a GOOD defensive front. Loved to see it. Ray Davis coming out party McD defense gives up ANOTHER Hail Mary. Inexcusable. Rapp had some good plays. Hamlin shouldn’t see the field. Bass-O-Matic is now Ass-O-Matic Johnson and Bernard made their presence felt. Launch Aikman into the sun that guy is a complete douche bag
