I see we have a bunch of new clowns to join our regular TBD clowns. Welcome! We look forward to your educated takes on how bad the Bills are after we win a game! One of my favorite post game rituals after a few cocktails is to come on TBD and laugh at the miserable fks who are complaining after a W. Comedy gold. Oh no! If we play like this against KC 18 weeks from now NO WAY we can win! Yeah we won, but we didn’t win the way I WANTED to win. We suck! Week one is always a crap shoot. We overcame adversity both self inflicted, ref inflicted, and opponent inflicted, and came away with the W! Is there a lot to clean up? Absolutely. Is Joshua F’n Allen the best QB in the league next to Mahomes? No question. Enjoy your misery. I’ll enjoy the W with all it’s warts. We are on to Miami! -
Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Post Game Thread

TBD in mid season form!! I love this place. The first game of the year is always a complete sht show and is basically a preseason game that counts where starters get any reps. So let me get this straight. Down 17-3, giving up a fumble that resulted in 7, got screwed by the refs for 4 extra points, gave up a kick return for a TD and…wait for it…. We won! It was a perfect, absolute Billsy game and we came out on top. W. We are on to Miami- 486 replies

Lamar is like Josh in that way too often he has to do everything himself. When your QB has to be near perfect the entire game in order to give your team a chance to win, then the mistakes/misses get magnified. No one remembers the 20 plays you made to keep your team in the game, it’s the obvious miss at the end to tie the game that matters, not the fact that the only reason the team was in that position to tie/win was because of your previous positive plays. I like Lamar, I just think he’s overhyped by the media. No way he deserved that MVP last year. He’s a great player to watch but has obvious limitations as a passer which is why he sucks in the playoffs.

Receivers the Bills could go after?
RunTheBall replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s hilarious that people put so much stock in a depth chart. The only thing the depth chart is is a tool for McD to send a message or make rookies think they are earning their spot. He’s been doing this from day 1. Coleman will get more targets than Mack, and very quickly Davis and Bishop will be moved up. -
I meant Cordington has much better tape this pre season returning punts/kicks than Hardy does. Who knows why they picked Hardy? Maybe they liked his speed and thought he’d make a good returner but his decision making is suspect. Cordington doesn’t have the measureables but he has a good college pedigree with returns and he looked a helluva lot better than Hardy in the 3 preseason games.

Josh is the best QB in the playoffs even better than Mahomes. The problem is NO ONE other than Josh and Tauron Johnson show up in the playoffs, especially our D. That’s why we haven’t made the SB yet. Ed Oliver is MIA, Milano is either hurt or toasted, White didn’t show the past few years. Edmunds - hahaha. Von was never Von in the post season. Groot always fighting some injury. Diggs dropping perfect passes. Last year we had LBs who were retired in FLA trying to cover Kelce while Douglas was on one leg. KC’s defense makes plays in the playoffs and Mahomes does enough to win. That’s it. Our playoff defense is a joke.

This is 100% a Bill Belichik maneuver to get intel on Miami for week 2. White is an awful QB, his only claim to fame is getting cut in half by Milano and not only surviving but continued to play. I have no problem with him as a PS QB but he’s no Trubisky and Trubisky sucks.

Ahh the end of summer. Cooler nights, days a little shorter, pre-season games done, and TBD fans losing their SHT over the release of CB6 or RB5. Love it! Hardy was drafted as a returner, that came from McDs mouth. He was meh at best. McD doesn’t like bad decisions and Hardy made a bunch the first 2 games. Also, McD is a DB whisperer. You can question a lot about McD, you can’t question his judgement or coaching of DBs. Yeah, Hardy looked like he had some potential on the outside when he was projected as a slot. He wasn’t close to unseating Lewis or Ingram on the depth chart. Cordington has much better tape as a returner, that’s why he’s here. I suspect Hardy will make the practice squad as we tend to over value our bottom of the roster players and many teams do the same with theirs. Toohill is the 53rd man on the roster and wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone in the next couple days as we make moves. Evans was the better RB for our offense than Gore Jr which is why they put him on IR to stash him. Gore Jr will not get picked up on waivers and probably end up on our PS. Andreesen is a great story and I think he’s got real potential. He showed more natural instincts than Edmunds did in 5 years. He will be a special teams demon to give him time to develop as a LB. Hope he makes a true Buffalo story for us. Where are all the people who said MVS was getting cut?? He was a roster lock the day he was signed. They will keep him inactive or quiet until mid season. Beane wants to unleash him to make or get through the playoffs since so many of our players disappear come crunch time. Milano being designated to return is a good indicator he may be back for the final push / playoffs.

I think there are a number of loud voices on here that skew the narrative a bit. If you only read this board you’d get the impression that unless we win the Super Bowl in a season then there is no fun/joy to be had during it. I feel really sorry for those types of fans. You’ve gotta be able to enjoy the ride knowing it’s probably going to end up in disappointment and the reason it hurts is because we care so much. So yeah, we didn’t get to the SB last year and there are plenty of reasons for it, but man did I LOVE taking the Division from the Fins after they had a 3 GAME LEAD! Enjoy the emotional rollercoaster and at least we have a team with a chance to get to and win the SB. I know that’s not enough for a lot of posters here where it’s all or nothing but that’s their problem.

This kid showed more instincts in his first preseason start than Edmunds did his career with us. Some players just have it and you can easily see it. He’ll make the roster, this is a McBeane type of player. He’s not ready to start, he’s not going to the pro bowl, he’s not replacing Milano. He’s a raw, young guy who probably has a higher ceiling than many thought and is the type you keep, develop, and maybe strike gold.

Wasn’t cook a football catching vacuum in college? I’m not overly concerned, I think his couple of bad drops on easy TDs have skewed a lot of perception. It’s gotta be just a concentration thing, he has the skill.

I thought he was eligible to return from IR but it counts against the 8 players that can return during the season

Bears @ Bills - Preseason Game 1 - SAT 08/10 - 1 PM
RunTheBall replied to DaBillsFanSince1973's topic in The Stadium Wall
Typical Bills preseason game. Looked like ass but absolutely meaningless. I’m happy there were no injuries (Oliver is fine), Bass hit his kicks, and loved that McD yanked Josh as soon as he ran for that 3rd hahaha. I love that you can’t contain this guys competitiveness. A meaningless pre season game and he’s running for 3rd downs haha. McD noped the F out of that real quick. Martin shanking punts wasn’t optimal. Someone dub in the Benny Hill music to Buechele running around like a headless chicken behind that sieve of an O-line. Comedy gold. -
The Bills already know 95% of the players who will make the team. MVS is one of them, he’s a lock. Pre-season is a joke. It’s only relevance is to get the guys in game shape and maybe take a flyer on an UDFA once they’ve figured out who they are stashing on IR. I think it’s hilarious the amount of importance the media and many here at TBD put on pre-season performance. They already know.

Training Camp 7/29 - First day of pads
RunTheBall replied to DaBillsFanSince1973's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s the end of July. The sun is out, the beach is packed, cold beers on the boat, and the annual parade of TBD posters making definitive judgements after DAY 5 of training camp is in the air. McGovern can’t snap, MVS is MIA, Bishop isn’t lookin All-Pro yet, UDFA’s are getting the McD praise and are ripe to start. Hahahah love it -
Zero percent chance Beane didn’t know who Morgan was going to pick when he agreed to the trade. There’s ZERO percent chance Morgan would screw Beane and burn that bridge. I don’t even follow the draft that close and I knew Carolina was interested in Legette. I wanted Legette at 32, Beane did not. In fact, I bet Beane knew Carolina wanted Legette and was getting calls for 32 so he called Morgan and said “Hey bud, I’m going to trade out of this pick unless you are interested”. That seems much more plausible to me than Beane not knowing Morgan liked Legette and was surprised Carolina picked him.

Off Topic: Sabres rehire Lindy Ruff as Head Coach
RunTheBall replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s the most Buffalo of Buffalo moves and I absolutely LOVE IT! This is either going to be made into a Disney film when we win the Cup with Lindy or an absolute dumpster fire leading to a full house cleaning and I’m here for all of it! -
If Coleman can’t separate against college DBs why in the world would we draft him in the first? Beane himself said he’s looking for separation and YAC from receiver prospects
-
What the Vikings second round pick does is give Beane the leeway to use our 2025 First round pick to move up if he feels the need and still have 2 picks in the top 64 in 2025.

So tired of the “Josh needs to do more in the offseason” BS. He’s the only guy who consistently steps up in the playoffs where it matters most. Does anyone really think offseason work is going to affect his play after 18 games? Seriously? Give it a rest. Yeah, he sht the bed against Cinci, so did the entire team including Diggs who’s yet to show up in an elimination game. Who steps up regularly for us in the playoffs on O or D besides Josh?

McDermott is feeling the pressure
RunTheBall replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Too many people discount the importance of luck once you get to the playoffs. Teams are very evenly matched and all it takes is one weird bounce of the ball, one key defender to get dinged at the wrong time, etc. Our O has been good enough to get to the SB for a couple years now. Josh plays outstanding in the playoffs even if there are bumps along the way in the regular season. I think our downfall recently has been 1) Key defensive injuries and 2) Our “star” offensive/defensive players not stepping up and making a play in the playoffs when it needs to be made. Edmunds never made a play in 5 years, Von was toast last season, Oliver does a disappearing act every year in the playoffs, Bernard and Milano weren’t available and both are playmakers. Josh played well but Diggs drops a bomb, Sherfleid (not a star) drops 2 bombs. Josh can’t be the only guy on the team raising his game in the playoffs. The difference between us and KC in the playoffs is Chris Jones pushing O-line back into Josh so he couldn’t step up and hit a wide open Shakir. KC defensive stars make plays in the playoffs, ours disappear or aren’t even on the field. -
Gabe’s a good dude. Hope he gets paid, just not by us. I’d give him 8 mil/yr to stay as a WR3 but he’d never take that, understandably. We need a WR2 who can run all the routes and separate with enough potential to become WR1 when Diggs is done. I’m not a draft guru but I’d think we’d have to spend our first round pick or trade up in the 2nd to get a guy with that potential right out of the gate.
