Gabe Davis- Do you want him back and for how much $
RunTheBall replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gabe is gone. He’s the Tremaine Edmunds of the offense. Beane will let him test FA and someone will pay him a ridiculous amount of money. I’d expect us to draft a WR high to take that #2 spot and potentially be #1 when Diggs is done in a couple years. -
Josh Allen Needs Way More Pass Attempts
RunTheBall replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he’s referring to the 3rd and 8 where he hit Diggs on an out on the last drive. That was a precise throw into tight coverage and a great catch -
I can explain Brown gave the hand signal that he was going to do his vintage “Ole’!” block. That’s where he stands there like a traffic cone while rushers blow by him on either side and he blocks nobody. It would be a insult to turnstiles to describe Brown as one. IDK, I’ve been hearing how improved he’s been but in this game he was god awful and not just on that play. He was getting toasted in pass protection constantly.

Josh’s mechanics have taken a step back this year. On that deep pick, he had plenty of time to set his feet and make a more accurate throw. As it was, he was rolling to his right (his favorite play) and threw back across the field which resulted in an under throw. Good decision, bad execution. Josh needs to work on his footwork and mechanics again this off season with Palmer and start taking the off season a little more seriously. He’s falling back into some bad habits which is evidenced by his decreased accuracy. We all sit there in the first 2 series to see which Josh we are getting. We’ve seen more of inaccurate Josh this year and I think it’s just a matter of not being consistent with mechanics. Still, I’ll take this guy over any other QB in the league including Mahomes

Why is it so hard for fans to admit reality?
RunTheBall replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
We were sloppy not lucky. Overcoming 3 turnovers and a ref crew who kept the game close for Peacock was more than luck. It’s a W. That’s all that matters. Nice to see we are coming out on the positive end of some of these close games. We are on to New England*- 517 replies

I’ve been staying this for 5 weeks. He definitely tweaked something, we will find out after the season. He’s been playing the very good soldier despite his stats tanking. That doesn’t bode well for the playoffs IMO. Brady really needs to get Kincaid, Shakir, Knox and Davis more involved regularly in the passing game. We’ve got 2 games to figure it out assuming we make the playoffs.

W They almost ruined Christmas, but it’s a W that counts as much as the Cowboys game. Cut Harty and fire Smiley into the sun. Still think something is up with Diggs, prob hurt. He’s not getting separation and taking himself out every time he gets tapped. Non Miller is useless. Didn’t see much Floyd. Ed was a beast. Playoff Gabe showed up. Allen wasn’t perfect but the guy just makes plays when he needs to. He had 4 unbelievable plays that we just are lilke “no big deal” Liked the McD game management from 4 minutes on. Sure, should have love the touchdown but once Shakir was ruled down had to run clock. Why did Chargers take that last timeout???

If we lose to Easton Stick with no Keenan Allen, no Bosa, and a 3rd string center then this team is as much a fraud as Dallas or Miami Not enough credit is being given to the effect Josh’s potential to run had on the run game success. Almost every counter we ran had a free rusher who was concentrating on taking Josh out if he ran the ball which allowed the RB to not even have to dodge him before hitting the hole. Props to Brady for sticking with the run when Dallas had an incredibly light defense and never tried to adjust. Their safety’s and LBs were giving up close to 100 pounds when being blocked by our O-lineman James showed patience and vision better than any game I’ve seen him plays so far.

I love free yards! This team has been on the receiving end of flop calls against us for DECADES. It’s about time we got some free-bees. Flop away Josh!

The patience and vision that James Cook ran with today was something to behold and was on another level from anything I’ve seen from him before. If that’s an indication of how’s he’s going to run going forward, he could potentially be the best back we’ve had since Thurman. I’m not even talking about his receiving ability. It pisses me off that Dorsey hamstrung him for a year and a half. Seriously, I get pissed thinking about it. Time will tell.

It moved a little. I love running the ball down their throats. Old school.

Tyreek Hill questionable vs Jets (now listed as inactive)
RunTheBall replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s a lot of snark for someone who doesn’t understand math or tie breakers -
Do you guys even watch the games or do you just look at stats? This has the stink of our offense with Dorsey being great stat wise but the eye test said otherwise. Martin has SUCKED this year. Yeah maybe he gets a couple inside the 20 once in a while but anytime he has to kick from distance he’s nailing low hang time line drives right down the middle and our crap special teams is giving up big returns. It cost us the Jet’s game! Spare me the stats crap I’m tired of it. PFF says Dodson is the #2 linebacker in the league behind Warner. Give me a break.

Bills don’t play on the “road” again this season…
RunTheBall replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
The pressure that Miami will be under if we beat Dallas will hasten their inevitable collapse. That’s why this game is so huge besides getting the W. -
Davis is done. He won ‘t be back unless he takes a really team friendly deal. Someone will offer him bucks. Josh has lost confidence in Davis and I think it’s easy to see why. When a large chunk of your interceptions come when targeting one guy I think that’s going to get into your head a little bit. Couple that with Davis’ inability to separate, his limited route tree, and his lack of contested catches you can understand why he’s #3 in most progressions. Brady has Kincaid as the #2 target, and rightly so. Davis may have a couple of good games left in him but I don’t expect to see his targets increase unless we play a team that Brady feels we can exploit with Gabe’s limited skill set. On that missed TD against KC, I think if you asked Josh he’d absolutely take responsibility for missing a wide open guy. He should have hit him. So why didn’t he? I think it’s a few factors - 1) It wasn’t a designed play call, I think it was another screen to Diggs 2) Josh’s internal clock was sped up from all the pressure 3) Kincaid was 1 on 1 and Josh trusts him more in that situation 4) He just didn’t see him because Davis was later in the progression. Still, that’s a gimme TD Josh should have hit. As for Diggs, that’s got me concerned. Something looks off. I remember a report a few weeks back of a back injury - is Diggs working through something? I can live with Davis getting a few targets a game but I think if we are going to go on a run we need our WR #1 to be heavily involved in the offense. I think Brady tried to get him the ball with those screens but Diggs has been dropping a lot. Idk it’s weird and hope it works itself out quick.

Can Buffalo catch the Dolphins?
RunTheBall replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wish I was this optimistic. I will say that if that KC game was an indication that we are peaking at the right time, a BIG if, then things are lining up nicely for us to win the Division. I’m not ready to say that’s the case. Beat Dallas and now we are taking about a team that is starting to roll. I think and hope the team is just taking it one game at a time. If Miami loses to the Jets, they are going to collapse with the pressure like they always do. Still, even if they lose their next 3 and we win the next 3 we still have to win in Miami to take the Division. So, one game at a time. Beat Dallas and I’ll start to believe we are peaking at the right time. -
Would have been next year but only if we win the East. Probably have Denver at home in 2024

I think forcing KC to use their timeouts was the original plan, but instead of running into a loaded box Brady called the screen to Diggs thinking that’s completed 99% of the time. Even if he doesn’t get many yards we get to the 2 minute warning. Say he caught the ball and got a few yards, we get to the 2 minute warning. We then run twice into stacked boxes and run what, 10 seconds off the clock before kicking the FG? (Assuming we don’t get the first). KC still would have gotten the ball with say 1:30 and no timeouts. We know that’s plenty of time for KC to get at least a FG. Once Diggs dropped (AGAIN!) that 99% completed pass, I think using time strategy went out the window and Brady was going for the TD. I’d have liked 3 straight runs against a bad run D but Brady was outcoached by Spags in the second half and got away from the run. On the Toney flag play, Taylor was lined up 2 yards off the line of scrimmage. His helmet isn’t even in line with the centers feet, it was an illegal formation all day. I can’t for the life of me figure out why the NFL allows that guy to get away with that and false starting every single play. It’s mind boggling. Great W. Hope Brady learned something because he got schooled by Spags in the second half. Getting away from Cook and Kincaid while Josh was getting jail breaked every play was concerning. I’m concerned about Diggs, something is up besides him being taken out of the game by solid corners. Mahomes rightfully is getting destroyed over his post game reaction to Josh. What a sore loser. I actually think Mahomes is a good dude but that display of poor sportsmanship was downright awful. I think KC an Mahomes did a lot of damage to their brand with their post game reactions when it was obvious it was the right call.

Daboll having tension with a coach in NY too
RunTheBall replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only coach that left or got fired that I disagreed with was Chad Hall DaBoll was instrumental in helping Josh develop but there were plenty of games we all cursed him just like Dorsey. I think he’s in trouble in NY after that great run last year. Almost set expectations too high for a team with mediocre talent and giving Danny Dimes that kind of money was STUPID on Joe Schein’s part. That’s going to hamstring them until he’s gone. IDK if they will survive that. This current special teams coach Smiley should get the boot at the end of the season too. How can a team spend so much money dedicated to special teams and flat out SUCK? That includes Not-So-Bass-O-Matic. He’s had a down year but hopefully will bounce back as we steam into the playoffs -
I was off the McD train. Now I’m about to jump back on because this is some bush league BS. I don’t like the whole feel of it and I’m sure there’s some truth buried in the article somewhere. The only reason to release this at this time was 1) Make $$ off people buying the article at the height of the anti-McD rhetoric going around 2) Hurt McD who he has an obvious bias against and 3) Hurt the Bills right before the most important game of the season so far. Between Dunne and Fairburn, who’s more butt hurt about McD? Hard to tell as they probably circle jerk each other while spitting on a McD voodoo doll. It’s blatantly biased journalism I’ve got a lot of McD issues, but I sincerely hope the team CIRCLES THE WAGONS and goes on a run because this feels oily. It’s slimy. Not because there may be some truth behind it but because it was released at a time to do maximum damaged and earn maximum bucks by a guy who has a maximum beef with McD and the Bills.

Rumor re: Brandon Staley (to be let go at year's end)
RunTheBall replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hear you but I think he’s got a lot of better years ahead of him. I don’t think he’s hit his ceiling yet. He’s got 3-5 years of peak athleticism yet and my hope is that his mental game improves. I think he has the ability to improve his understanding of the defenses he’s facing thus decreasing interceptions and stupid plays. Josh isn’t going to lose the ability to run, he’s not going to lose so many steps he can’t get a first with his feet when we need it. He will hopefully transition to a more cerebral passer so he doesn’t have to run, but it’s going to always be a part of his game. The issue is surrounding him with offensive talent who can take some of the burden off him. Maybe someday someone will make a contested or difficult catch when he’s not perfect. Maybe we can get a defense that actually closes out a game once a decade. I doubt that happens with McD, but I think we are stuck with him for at least 1 more year. Josh has plenty of time left.
