Why do people keep saying this? What has McDaniel shown that anyone would want him has an OC? Once teams adjusted to his scheme, he has been awful. He took Shanahans offenseive scheme, tweaked it, then said “alright I’m done”. Not to mention the fact that Josh is not an anticipatory thrower at all so that type of offense would be worse than our current one. At least we can run the ball, which McDaniel abandons faster than Josh does a Keon Coleman 1st read

I seriously believe all we are missing is a consistent intermediate passing game in the 15-30 range. Get that, and this team has all the tools to be a top Super Bowl contender. We don’t need a bunch of deep bombs. It’s that 15-30 air yard shots that we know Josh can throw very well that need to return to the offense.

Josh seems to have lost his mojo a little bit. I think he’ll snap back. I’d start him off against the Chiefs with a quick rhythm pass and a designed QB power run to let him lower his shoulder. It’s all mental. You can see it in his eyes. Where’s the fire? He’s got that deer in the headlights look he used to get. He’s definitely in a funk, but the great ones get themselves out of it. Hopefully he’ll be back on a roll for the playoffs if we get there.

If we don’t get a WR in trade I think Brady has to go all in on the heavy packages and start throwing a lot more out of it. Get several packages of multiple TEs, Oline, RBs with Shakir out there and start throwing a LOT more to the backs and TEs. The lack of a WR who can stretch and take the top off the defense has been a consistent flaw in this team every game. We don’t need to throw bombs but the lack of a consistent intermediate passing game will kill us when the playoffs come, assuming we make it. I have to believe Beane is burning up the phones trying to get a WR but my gut tells me he thinks Gabe Davis is that guy and he’s just waiting for him to get healthy.

Jags listening to trade calls for Brian ThomasRunTheBall replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall I wouldn’t give more than a 2nd for BJT. I think a 3rd for Shaheed would be better

Ed Oliver bicep injury - likely out regular seasonRunTheBall replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Negative. I don’t think he’s back this season. It’s a 3 month injury at best and that’s coming back with a heavy brace to keep the elbow from getting hyperextended. He’s done for the season. Oliver is now part of the All Glass team which includes Milano, Bernard, Samuel, and Spector (if you consider him still part of the team). What a joke

The New Guys: Hairston, Hoecht, Ogunjobi plus HancockRunTheBall replied to Ray Stonada's topic in The Stadium Wall That’s not what injured him. He reached out with his left arm as the RB was hitting the line. Classic mechanism of injury for a bicep or pec tendon tear. I expect he’s done for the season, maybe a playoff return, but hopefully I’m wrong. They called it a bicep injury, which is worrisome because there’s not much more than a tear that can happen to the bicep. A hyperextended elbow would be a less worrisome injury.

It’s multi-factorial why he’s in a funk, but the simple fact is we need to be able to win games when Josh isn’t playing like an MVP and we just dropped a 40 burger on a team which had a 3 game win streak. I think teams are rushing him very differently than years past and he hasn’t figured it out yet. They all rush contained and do everything to keep him rolling to his right along with a mirror player who’s ready to trigger when he breaks the pocket. Why Brady can’t take advantage of this clear defensive plan is mind boggling to me. He’s also protecting himself for the playoffs, and that’s a good adjustment to his game. There’s no need for him to be rushing and taking shots in the second quarter of a regular season game. He had to adjust how and when he runs to preserve his longevity. Those hits add up and I know I know QBs are more likely to be injured in the pocket. Finally, we absolutely need to get a WR who can stretch the field. I think Shaheed is the most likely target in terms of availability and cost. He can also take over punt/kick return duties which have been meh at best Coleman is rapidly becoming my least liked player on offense. He really offers nothing, his demeanor is pretty awful from what I can see on TV. He looks like a sulker. I don’t mind him as a 3-4 target a game option but he’s not even freeing up on the scrambles. What does this guy offer? Near nothing. What a waste of a pick.

Ed Oliver bicep injury - likely out regular seasonRunTheBall replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Oliver is done for the season. Maybe he gets back if we make a deep playoff run. It’s a classic mechanism of injury for a biceps tendon tear and there’s not much else that can go wrong in the elbow. He reached out to grab a RB while he was going down and it popped. If it was Milano, he’d pop his pec. Just another in a long line of Glass players we’ve unfortunately signed to big bucks. Milano, Oliver, Bernard. The All Glass Team. Frustrating.

10/26/25 GAMEDAY Bills at Panthers post game threadRunTheBall replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Ray Davis is done. He decided he wanted to be a different type of back than he was last year for whatever reason and dropped a good amount of weight in the off season. Who the F knows why, the team certainly didn’t tell him to do that. So now he’s a bit lighter, didn’t gain any speed, doesn’t have the juice to be a north and south runner anymore, and he’s playing himself off the team. What a disaster. If he’d just worked on doing more of what he did last year he’d be a great 2nd option but he is ass. I’d include him in any trade if another team wanted him and seriously think about activating Gore for a couple games from the PS and see what he can do.

So there are people on this board who have a problem with McD calling plays when the D looked the best it has so far? Holy sht people. I couldn’t care less who calls the plays as long as the D is playing well. Get a grip.

10/26/25 GAMEDAY Bills at Panthers post game threadRunTheBall replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall A W is a W and man did we need this 40 burger. I’m not going to complain about Brady when you put up 40 points. Seeing the defense show signs of life was great. The addition of Hoecht, Ogunjobi, Hairston, Hancock and Poyer paid off big time. Poyer is a steadying influence out there and I loved the platooning with Hancock who saved a TD and that series ended up in a Carolina TO. McD is calling the defense. Babich has been demoted. He will talk about it being a collaboration but McD has taken over. Good for now. We will see if Bobby can get it back over time The linebackers looked better without Bernard out there. Hopefully he gets his mojo back. Williams made some solid plays after looking like ass, and Shaq Thompson is our best LB right now. I’m so sick of our main guys being injured all the time. Glass Oliver joins Glass Milano, and Glass Bernard as being highly paid players who can’t stay on the field. He popped that bicep tendon. He’s done for the year, might be able to make it back deep in the playoffs. Just ridiculous. Allen is off but that’s ok for now. We’ve gotta be able to win games when Josh doesn’t have an MVP game. I’m not concerned yet, I think he’s going to get his head back on straight. But I don’t like seeing him make crap decisions and missing wide open guys when they actually separate. IDK the reason but he’s carried this team enough over the years that they can carry him while he gets back to form. We need to trade for a WR and a DT immediately. I’d say Shaheed and Harrison Philips are reasonable targets that are doable. I’d love Olave but he’s not coming. Our WR group is not good enough to get it done when the playoffs come.

Jags listening to trade calls for Brian ThomasRunTheBall replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall I know most of TBD was hoping for a trade up to get him in the draft. I don’t watch a lot of Jags but from what I’ve watched, this guy has been underwhelming. Granted, I’ve got a limted data set but he just meh?

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!RunTheBall replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall I agree with Cosell 100%. We don’t need the deep ball as much as we need more consistent intermediate shots. That’s Josh’s bread and butter where he can use his arm strength and zip it in tight windows. Frankly, Josh sucks at the deep ball unless he can throw it on a rope. Brady has turned our alien into a dink and dunk master and while there’s nothing wrong with taking what the defense gives you, with the correct scheming that doesn’t have to always be behind the LOS or a bubble screen.

So some interesting tid bits from that presser - Rapp is being benched, probably for Poyer but maybe they start giving Hancock some run. Strong is done for the season if not his career. They know exactly what is going on but aren’t saying. My guess is after he tweaked his neck they did an MRI and it scared the sht out of them. Probably a multi-level disc issue and the only question is what’s the risk to his health if he continues to play whether or not surgery is currently indicated. Hairston is going to get some run sooner rather than later. Sean knows what’s up with Tre. Ogunjobi and Hoecht are 100% playing this Sunday, the subterfuge is laughable. I’d like to see a lot less Keon Coleman and a lot more passing out of heavier sets. Listening to a few pods this past week and I can’t believe how much they are forcing it to Coleman. It’s not friggin Stephon Diggs out there, it’s a disappointing 2nd round player that they are playing out of position and they keep trying to make it happen. In no universe should he have 50 more targets than the next targeted receiver on this team. Brady needs to wake the F up. The penalties need to stop. That’s a McD issue. Killing us pre-snap and on defense.
