  1. 10 - is so off base I don't even know how to comment on it ... Some really good points otherwise as always Bill. Coaching is the difference keeping this team going and competitive this year however. Gilmore was both good and bad today too. Touch matchup but overall he got the better of it with Bowe.
  2. All this is moot if we get to the passer on time. Every play has an area of risk and exposure... Some more than others.
  3. Thank you thank you... You get it. I don't think people read my posts but I don't care... but you sir, get it.
  4. Some are missing part (the implied part) of the whole explanation - As Coach Marrone had mentioned, yes Hughes was responsible for the man in this particular scheme. Every scheme you can possibly come up with has it's strengths and it's areas of exposure. What the Play/scheme counts on in this case is that the QB doesn't get to that read in time to react and get the ball out before being grounded by the pass rush. It's a calculated risk. Manny is also better in coverage than Hughes but neither of these guys are gonna hang with a speedy Wr. This is a normal thing in every defensive scheme. In this case it didn't help us that Brees is a master at reading the field and the coverage and our rush didn't get to him in time.
  5. TJ is a whole different type of WR - he is a field stretcher and has done so all year. The Qb's haven't been able to get him the ball a lot of times yet. Other plays have been called back by penalty. And he shows fight with the ball in his hands along with improving on his shorter routes this year. I am a David Nelson fan... He's a nice , tall normally sure-handed possession WR. Was bummed when he went out for the year early last year. TJ last year had me concerned A LOT, but he has shown something this year and is progressing nicely. I don't see these 2 as mutually exclusive.
  6. Why are we comparing Nelson to Graham? Totally different types of WR, and Graham is starting to show pretty well so ?
  7. Love this post While half the crowd here tried to scramble for "reasons" our FO made a terrible hire here or there so they can be "right" about it, the Bills are slowly but surely building a real team here. A team that has a plan with goals and direction. A team that is not perfect but learning to compete week in week out, which is extremely difficult even for the best of teams to do.
  8. I thought this was obvious to more fans than it is apparently... Especially ones who supposedly know what they are talking about. If you dislike Dareus and his play this year ( and it's a given he had a down year last year so no need to go there) you should probably stop trying to evaluate football players at all. He has had great production ALMOST all season. NOBODY does it game in , game out.
  9. Ohhh gotcha ... Selective memories I guess
  10. At least in that game the 2 qb's could argue there were 8 inches of snow on the ground, high winds and the football was wet.
  11. annnnnndddd someone had to blow up the fun
  12. RJ fooled me badly... He looked like Joe Montana in camp and that got me good. Looked like Charlie Brown on game day
  13. A majority (>50% ) of posters on football message boards and callers on football based talk radio shows have little to no idea what they are talking about...
  14. That is interesting indeed. I wonder how much has to do with forcing opponents to keep their Te's in line for pass protection against our rush?
  15. Haha! That's about right - By the way not only did the media run with it, most Buf fans ran with it too . but hey we'll see. Maybe they'll be right still, I just doubt it.
  16. I think "they" was some NFL network guy's speculation... and the whole media ran with it. The Bills never said 4-8.
  17. Good point Badol - to be fair he DID start playing well late last season... It seems a blur but you're right. He's a very physical corner and now is able to track the ball.
  18. Thanks for the post as usual Bill... While everyone is focused on Gilmore playing with one arm I'd add the Leodis friggin' McKelvin is playing some serious ball this year. It's amazing what real coaching and placing a player in the proper position to succeed can do!
  19. Yes and Yes! But let's keep making up other arguments about it
  20. Did you see the hit in the Cleveland game? RG3's leg would have snapped in half... wtf is going on around here?
  21. My suspicion is that nothing has changed at OBD re: desire to move Byrd. I think they all realize he has the least value return at this point. I think they will play him and thats that... To be re-visited in the off-season. What is construed as "news" sometimes is the furthest thing from it.
  22. I'm with you on that. Maybe even 2 games
  23. It became helmet to helmet only because Hoyer ducked into it. End of drama.
