So I am learning here.... No QB is allowed to have a bad game amongst other good games, and to judge a rookie QB, we need to look at his W/L record .... GOT IT!!!
Richardson has indeed been extremely solid of late, but I don't think Kiko's play has tapered off at all. No int's but playing his position at a very high level and busting up screens , beating blockers to the point, etc.
I bet half of your posts are already written for If/when EJ "Fails" again this week with zero WR's in the lineup. You'll have him on the trash heap and half way out of town by then I'm quite sure.
I think that's a stretch but you're certainly entitled to the opinion.... I do believe there are a lot of Bills plays with Run / Pass option built in as I recall EJ talking about them while he was out there earlier this year.
It's not Coach Tuesday I was specifically responding to as his point overall is accurate. It's all the posters who have unrealistic ideas of what a good/ great player is, and those who forget that there is another NFL player across the way from the player in question.
you don't get it. He needs to shut everyone down, bar none. He was a 1st round pick afterall! ...............
Does anyone recall Bruce Smith vs. Richmond Webb? Just sayin'
Regardless of what we all think good or bad, I am certain that the coaches will take Bowe coming up with <70 yds receiving, under 10 per catch and no Td's against Gilmore w/ no help every time. Could he have done better? sure...without question.
I agree Gilmore was the worst in the secondary today. However the rest of the secondary played extremely well and Gilmore had by far the hardest assignment w/ Bowe - I'd take Bowe's #'s against Gimore today. Could have been better for sure...
10 - is so off base I don't even know how to comment on it ... Some really good points otherwise as always Bill. Coaching is the difference keeping this team going and competitive this year however. Gilmore was both good and bad today too. Touch matchup but overall he got the better of it with Bowe.
Some are missing part (the implied part) of the whole explanation - As Coach Marrone had mentioned, yes Hughes was responsible for the man in this particular scheme. Every scheme you can possibly come up with has it's strengths and it's areas of exposure. What the Play/scheme counts on in this case is that the QB doesn't get to that read in time to react and get the ball out before being grounded by the pass rush. It's a calculated risk. Manny is also better in coverage than Hughes but neither of these guys are gonna hang with a speedy Wr. This is a normal thing in every defensive scheme. In this case it didn't help us that Brees is a master at reading the field and the coverage and our rush didn't get to him in time.
TJ is a whole different type of WR - he is a field stretcher and has done so all year. The Qb's haven't been able to get him the ball a lot of times yet. Other plays have been called back by penalty. And he shows fight with the ball in his hands along with improving on his shorter routes this year. I am a David Nelson fan... He's a nice , tall normally sure-handed possession WR. Was bummed when he went out for the year early last year. TJ last year had me concerned A LOT, but he has shown something this year and is progressing nicely. I don't see these 2 as mutually exclusive.
