  1. I love you @Shaw66 and you make some great points here and always, but “ It starts with me “ which is something my leadership organization uses in our accountability discussions, is intended to mean “ It starts and ends with me” as in “ The Buck stops here” or I am responsible for the construction, expectations and output of my team as the leader of said team. It’s highly unlikely McD, who preaches accountability as much as Mike Tomlin does in his list of priorities, uses it as a way to excuse himself from the results.
  2. I felt like it was visually obvious that the Cb had inside position on the play. I would agree with you that the post is the easier throw and catch outside of the positioning.
  3. I agree with all this. 1 Question though... Why would Morse step away?
  4. it's not "more Davis' fault though. Why? Because the corner had inside leverage, so outside is the correct option read by Davis. Am I freaking out at Allen over this split second decision? No Would I like to see Brady implement some shorter/quicker "zero blitz" options for the WR's on plays like this? Yes
  5. I'd give our #1 and #2 to move up to get MHJ since we're playing hypothetical. Would it be enough? If no, what else would we have to throw in?
  6. Congrats to you for saying this. Lots of posters on autopilot/ mailing it in don't realize this.
  7. I agree on the ice the kicker timeout. That was wasted. Still, not firing the guy over it... Just (as an owner maybe?) trying to ensure he doesn't try to ice a kicker in that same situation going forward.
  8. The FACT on this is that if we had gone for the gusto and tried to get into FG range in the 20 seconds and Josh threw a pick, almost every poster here who is mad that he took the conservative approach in the sideways wind and rain would have the exact opposite take, and would be ranting about how stupid it was. Book it, Bank it.... Ain't nobody can tell me otherwise. That's how it works here, just like that's how it works on radio talk shows (only certain types of people call into those). I would have liked to see them try to get in FG range myself, but the contrary is certainly not a 'fire the coach' last straw type of event. I can't wait to see all the phony disagree and thumbs down emojis from y'all liars.
  9. To the bolded, that's great for you but unfortunately most others here would flip 180 degrees and say we should have taken it to OT if an Allen pick happened. We know how this goes. btw I agree we should have been aggressive there with 20 sec... But its not a fire-able situation
  10. You appear to be asking what folks think will happen vs what folks want to happen ... With that said: If we finish above .500, McD will be here next season, playoffs or not. IMO. (And I do think that's right bc one more season has been earned with division titles, playoff qualifying seasons and some playoff wins, and because continuity wins with far more regularity than a shake up even though they are "sexy")
  11. Well said, especially on the multitude of reasons why these things keep happening. Much more accurate with actual verifiable reasons and referenced events than what 90% of Bills mafia yesterday and today are citing.
  12. What I want to know and none of us seem to be able to figure out is - Why is that 59 yd FG in the wind and rain ALWAYS going to be good against us? Home or Away, it happens over and over and over again. Kickers make their career best FG in dire conditions no less. We knew it (my family and I ), you knew it, everyone knew it was going to be good! WHY?????? They might as well have tried a 70 yarder! That FG had no business going through and its game over! .... and if its not a FG make its some rando WR making the best catch of his career over one of our guys. Every time... smh
  13. I was 10. My father and I were at the game but left early because I had a pop-warner football banquet to get to, LOL. So we missed the hail-mary finish The good part is that we vowed never to leave early from a Bills game again, and THAT is what kept us at the stadium for the greatest playoff comeback ever vs the Oilers!
  14. The "Eye in the sky" refs that they've already added work great at quickly and efficiently making corrections to the types of plays they are allowed to comment on (ie. possession, out of bounds/in bounds, etc.). The best possible thing that could happen is to expand the allowable corrections from the eye in the sky refs to include any type of play (ie. reverse a horrible DPI call, or a head shot that was really a shoulder to shoulder, etc.). This is the best and simplest "fix" they could possibly implement.
  15. From the stands, on the 81 Yd TD play to Shakir, it appeared to be quite an impressive "baiting" of the Jets defense by Allen. They moved Diggs into the slot and I feel like the Jets thought they had us with a gotcha! It wasn't Sauce in coverage across from Diggs and it sure seemed like they wanted to bait us into a throw over in that direction into their zone, where they'd likely have 2 guys near the throw with a chance to make a play. Instead, post snap, Josh takes an extended look in that direction, then looks at Kincaid quickly (who opened up the seam for Shakir) then right over to Shakir with the strike, and the gotcha! came in our favor. Great manipulation (I thought) by Josh on the play. I wonder also how much prep goes into a play like that between QB and OC or if its just where Josh is in his game right now. Thoughts, @HoofHearted ?
  16. It's all season that folks, and PFF are talking about. He's been quite a bit better than expected, while certainly still getting caught out of position at times in coverage (PFF doesn't really grade coverage well on a consistent basis). And then....there's TB. Almost none of us thought he'd be this good. Great instincts... Wow.
  17. ok??? I praised nothing. Just was correcting the poster who made an assumption
  18. This is certainly a tough week for a new OC. Look at the performances of Mahomes, Herbert and Hurts, let alone Allen vs the Jets defense this year. Our defense is going to need to keep us in it until an opportunity cashes in.
  19. @HoofHearted, It appears to me in watching the games and some of the all-22's that Terrel Bernard has become a consistent performer throughout the season with not only his play making abilities, but also his zone coverage and gap filling responsibilities. The focus of the fans and media has kinda come off of him for a number of weeks now as the team has struggled in other areas. Can you confirm this from a full season with what you've seen of him on tape? What opportunity areas do you still see for growth with him? Also, It feels like Dodson, while certainly a limited player in coverage, has played up near his ceiling when out there and contributed without being too major of a liability. Do you see that similarly?
  20. Do you think that Brady will reduce the number of option routes built into pass plays in the current Bills scheme in order to reduce the amount of thinking necessary (by both WR and QB) and to somewhat alleviate how much "perfect execution" will be required to have successful outcomes?
  21. agree with the post overall... For the bolded, that was not the sole reason Elway didn't win one earlier. His overall teams were just nowhere close to the Giants, 49ers and Redskins dominant machines that they faced in 86,87,89. Very similar to the Bills v Washington and the 1st v Dallas Superbowl. We must always remember that football is the ultimate team sport.
  22. you sure though man? I mean don't gambling advice and stat web guys always know more that actual film analysts and scouts? (sorry this is more of a response to an argument that's following you around than to this post)
  23. They also have a pretty decent "top half" kinda O-line this year, that is going largely unnoticed through the tornado around it.
