The Draft is a Total Crapshoot (Per Science)
34-78-83 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
Change that to about 33% and I agree with the rest of what you said. -
I like the receiver combo I took better (just personal pref), plus I think Braswell can help right away, possibly Frazier too. Yours seems to have more immediate help in Nubin and Jenkins and Braelon Allen where mine was more about taking O-line and WR talent that is available in this draft class. I would have liked a CB or DT but couldn't resist the guys I took instead. So maybe yours gets the edge in the short term where mine should pay off more long term.

Traded back to 29 then back again to 42. Jumped up to take the Yale kid at 126. All in all, 7 players selected, 6 of which are in the top 150. Still got the double dip at WR too. Would have liked a DT but McCormick was too enticing at that spot I was looking for one.

Yes... I actually heard the Cover1 guys talking about his technique as well, and likening it to an NBA player dribbling up into a guy's space to create conflict, and then using that leverage to be "open". It won't look like the traditional separation we'd be used to seeing from like a Diggs type player. While Coleman isn't my favorite WR prospect in this draft, I trust what guys like that who spend a lot of time on it are saying about him.

Interesting and detailed Bills Draft visits chart

and WAAAAAAY better of a prospect overall than Gabe was, amongst those who do this for a living. -
McConkey and Legette would be the ABSOLUTE PERFECT COMBO of WR's to land if we can't get up high for BTJ or trade for a current player. We'd have an out of the box ready guy with a massive future ceiling guy.

Does Josh Allen still work as hard in the offseason?
34-78-83 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Soooo many people sucker up and fall for it too. Heck probably a 3rd of this board does. -
I suppose I should have included in detail that one of them may "bust" due to a random major injury as well. But yes, good point on the overall grades of the top 3 this year!

This is what every fan and even professional talent evaluators need to always keep in mind. You simply don't know. The best you can hope for is a 50/50 shot with a Round 1 graded WR, and that includes MHJ, Odunze and Nabers. Odds say that 1 of those 3 is going to be a dud. I sure can't tell who.
-
I'd be stoked coming out with these selections after a round 1 trade back where the Cardinals stole BTJ at #27.

Interesting... Both AM and BT have other peer stud receivers on the field with them. I imagine that was a factor in the statistic.

The theme here was trading back, gaining some day 2 credit and then letting the draft come to me. It was scary waiting that long to take a WR but it was a reaction to some WR runs.
-
My favorite draft I've had this off-season. Traded up to 14 for Odunze but then the Colts came in and offered to switch 14 and 15 and I regained some of the lost capital and took a chance... They picked a corner. This double dip at WR would completely re-define our offense. Some great Inerior O-Line depth acquired as well, along with exciting depth at DT, RB and Edge.
-
Besides the obvious need at WR, I'm hoping for potential depth picks at Edge, Interior OL (I don't think there's a roster spot for a tackle with our current depth already there unless a great one falls to us), Depth at DT, Running Back, Depth at Safety and a late corner in case Elam doesn't develop further.
-
I just don't see Legette still being there even at 54, let alone 60. But you know this already! LOL carry on. I see him gone by early 40's at the very latest. Same odds with Wilson at 144. Would of course love this outcome though

Really is such a tough call... Benefits and concerns with all 4. Upside is highest with Worthy and Coleman but also the most risk of failure as I see it. Franklin and McConkey should help right away with McConkey having the highest floor of the 4 and Franklin looking a little better on deep routes. I can't decide which trigger I would ultimately pull.

Traded 28, 128 and a 2025 2nd to get up to 19 for Thomas. No idea why Newton dropped to 60 but that was a must get. Filled depth with the rest.
