I repeat: Allen’s performance today really defines the difference between being a quarterback and being a passer. Too many of us let the position be defined by the latter when it’s so much more than that.

Let’s hope that some will have a better appreciation for the difference between a passer and a QB. But I doubt it.

News about Webb being scientific or the editorializing of that scientific news? Because I don’t think NASA and the hundreds of other scientists worldwide that will be interpreting data will be creating news about “aliens” since that’s not what they’re interested in. I agree with @Bad Things, let’s confine this thread to Webb specific science and use the UFO/Aliens thread for any discussion pertaining to that subject.

Googling “James Webb” and “aliens” won’t inform me at all about its mission. You seem to be conflating the scientific goals of the mission with the media sensationalism that it may generate as a result. We can choose to take that bait or not. I suspect the scientists involved won’t.

I believe the exact opposite will be the case; you’ll have to dig for the false alien crapola in the piles of all the actual science that will be amassed. Nobody is expecting alien life to be discovered by the Webb telescope. I think the science community accepts that the odds are stacked against it, anyway. There is more empty space in the universe than there is anything else that’s in it, after all.

While discovery of alien life would be interesting, that is not it’s mission. At all. If all goes well when it reaches its destination in six months and starts sending back the images it’s designed to deliver, it will be seen as one of the greatest scientific feats in history. Hell, the fact it was conceived, designed, built, and sent on its way makes it one already in my book.

This may surprise some, but good defenses and their coordinators pretty much know what you’re gonna do regardless. Because they know what you can’t do. This is why players trump scheme. If you have superior players with superior execution, you could tell the defense what you’re gonna run and they’d still be unable to stop it most of the time. And I’m speaking less of the QB and receivers in this equation and more of the O line. 5 wide sets have their place, but if you don’t have an OL that can hold up, it can all go to crap rather quickly. As we’ve seen.

My guess is that it’s Hyde just protecting himself in proximity to Poyer who, given his wife’s previous posts on the subject, suggests he isn’t among the vaxxed.
