I'm not laughing at Dallas. They're a good team. But there is no way I can agree that Dallas has some sort of monopoly on league leading talent. There is great talent on EVERY team in the league at one position or another. That's the point. What constitutes "nearly?" By your standards, that's 28 or 32 teams. How about I amend my comment to say "most" teams? How many is that and does it still include the four worst teams in the league to bolster your point?

I could compile a similar list of players from nearly every team in the league.

Jones is a good athlete, can run like the wind. But he simply can’t make the throws Allen makes and force teams to have to defend the entire field on a routine basis. I think we are at the point where we take that for granted because Allen does it every game and makes it look so easy and it just isn’t. There are literally just a few guys on the planet like that and Jones just isn’t one of them.

And that’s where the comparisons end.

This is not out of the box thinking by the Texans. This looks like nobody else returned their calls. And even though there are only 31 jobs like it in the universe, working in that environment just isn’t worth it for many candidates.

That’s an interesting comparison because the more I see of Mac Jones, the more I see a QB that came into the league very near his ceiling whereas Allen came in at his absolute floor; just a raw QB prospect in every respect. I just don’t see how Jones can improve enough to ever be as good as Allen has become given the sheer physical and athletic differences between them.

I agree the drops hurt him, but still, before they got down 33-3, he was 11-18, 116 yards, two picks, with a passer rating of 40.3. In garbage time, after getting down 33-3, against a second string defense, he was 13-20, 116 yards, 2 TDs, and a 113 rating. In no way was he responsible for his team’s worst defensive game in league history, but he was never close to being part of the solution, either. He’s a good young QB who displays a high aptitude for the game, but I just can’t agree he played all that well on Saturday. But man, I’ve never seen a QB get so many accolades for an intercepted ball and a decent scramble to keep a drive alive.
