  1. You would rather have a couple 0-16 seasons to get a top pick? No thanks.
  2. Sign him. He was the #2 rb coming out of high school. He's big, strong, fast. Years younger than Shady and Frank Gore. Knows the league. If he makes the team, that would be great. If not, cut him and move on. Why not? They wouldn't bring him in if he wasn't a serious prospect.
  3. You said "whomever." Refreshing. I was happy that the Bills took the guy they wanted last year. The move for Edmunds was excellent. The rest of the draft was pretty great. The UDFA group was stellar. I trust they will get their guys. Personally, I think I'd prefer Oliver. But I'm getting pretty pumped to find out.
  4. Just posing a question. Like everybody else in here. Thanks for sharing about your sex life.
  5. I'm terrified that this has already been discussed. A few years ago, we had the third pick in the draft, and selected Marcel Dareus. Here are the other players chosen at the top of that round: Cam Newton, Von Miller, AJ Green, Patrick Peterson, Julio Jones. JJ Watt was drafted #11. Dareus was a monster talent with an inconsistent effort. Dareus was handed a 100 million dollar contract, and a couple years later was traded. Never lived up to his draft position or his contract. He went to Alabama, surrounded by 5 star talent. Same as Q. Williams. Sometimes I think the backups at Alabama turn out better than the starters. We have 2 of them. Levi Wallace and Robert Foster. Alabama is the Duke/Kentucky of football. The bench players would become stars at Missouri or Arkansas or Boston College. I guess this is two threads. Although Q. Williams may seem to be the most dominant DL in the draft, because he is from Alabama he might not be all that. Reminds me of Reggie Ragland and Shaq Lawson.....stars at top programs and not stars in pro football. Give me Ed Oliver, Josh Allen, or Montez Sweat.
  6. First of all, because there was a thread about this guy on March 15 shouldn't stop somebody from introducing the topic on April 6th. Who's got time to research the entire Stadium Wall? Besides, the NFL Network and ESPN do reports on this stuff every single day. Doesn't stop me from reading it. Secondly, someone made the point about the guy not being labeled a "Generational Talent." Was Gronk labeled as such? No. He lasted till the second, and was chosen ONE PICK after we chose generational talent tackle from NC State....give me a moment while I look this up: Torrell Troup! Whifffff!!! Antonio Brown and Tom Brady were 6th round picks. Sometimes you hit on something. Robert Foster.....Levi Wallace, not even drafted. Who would I pick? I don't know. I watched some show yesterday where they said Ed Oliver was a super freak athlete difference maker. We're talking about the 9th best player in the country. That pick should be a dominant player. They won't pick for need.....well, maybe they should. We haven't gotten anybody to replace Kyle Williams. Maybe it's Oliver. I watched Hock at the Combine. He looks like he could become a superstar in the right offense. I have no idea. I think my preference would be to try and get some extra picks.
  7. I am an all-knowing soothsayer. These were not random dart throws. These are players that Beane and company feel will make us a much better team. I think they actually have too many players now. But that is an opinion, not a fact from an all-knowing soothsayer.
  8. The success of the offensive line is largely due to coaching. They have a ton of prospects here. New England somehow gets a bunch of no-names into a cohesive unit. A few years ago the Giants went to the Super Bowl with two starters cut by the Bills.......Parker and Dusty Ziegler, I think. Hopefully our new line coach can coach. Otherwise, chaos will ensue.
  9. Quentin Spain looks like a great signing. Started 48 of 50 games for Tennessee. His run blocking has dropped off in the past couple years, but the Tennessee line has been great. Good coaching plus good athletes leads to a much improved line, right?
  10. Last year I thought that they identified their guy.....Josh Allen, and did whatever it took to get him. Josh Allen, in my opinion, is going to be a superstar. Great move. That said, I believe that if they see an individual that they see as a big difference maker.....let's say they are in love with the tackle from Alabama and believe he will be the Aaron Donald type player that can transform the defense....if they want THAT GUY, whoever it is, they will make a move to get him. However, Beane has said they won't be drafting for need.....so I think it's also likely they will focus on the 9th pick as a commodity. If they think that it's a commodity that can be used to get an extra high pick or two, they will do it. Can't wait. Also can't wait for the snark for the OP and the alleged redundancy and irrelevance of the post. Ramza, I hope they're nice to you. Good point of discussion.
  11. I've seen many of his games. When he's on, he's great. Throws line drives 50 yards downfield. But he has had awful games. They played Kentucky this fall, and lost on the last play of the game.....but the reason they lost, in my opinion, is that Mizzou did not get one first down in the second half. Zero first downs in the 2nd half. At home. Lousy. But he has a great arm. Hope this gets us into a better position.
  12. I opened the thread out of curiosity. It doesn't bother me to read somebody's thoughts.
  13. His editors may be too disinterested to dig into his articles. The Bills seem to have been irrelevant so long that this assignment sucks to most writers. It's sort of like that scene in Animal House when they kept putting the pledges into the corner with Jugdish and his friends. Once we start winning again, it will be a fun assignment and they'll put somebody else on it. Even when we made the playoffs a couple years ago all people wrote about was how lucky we were. Which was true. But we held Jacksonville to 10 points on the road....and a week later they rang up 40+ in Pittsburgh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cSYNuEmHQk
  14. Morse's contract may seem a bit high, but I think you have to factor inflation into this deal. Paying a top flight center may cost 15 million or more. We've got him locked in. He was key in Mahomes' development, and I think they are counting on him helping Josh as well. He's psyched about playing here. Let's be happy to have him.
  15. The team sucked last year? They were definitely in rebuild mode. They won 6, could have been 9 had three plays gone the other way. To me, it was a great year because we were able to get Josh Allen a bunch of games, and the defense ended up #2 in the league. And look at that schedule. New England twice, Baltimore, San Diego, Houston, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Indy, Chicago, Green Bay, Minnesota, Detroit, and the rest of the East. How the hell did they get 6 wins out of that? They managed to get out of salary cap hell, and now are poised to become a contender. They drafted Allen, Edmunds, Phillips, T. Johnson, Wyatt Teller, Siran Neal....and two hugely productive undrafted free agents (who were both rated first round picks in a re-draft), and now we have signed a buttload of free agents, and still 10 picks in the draft. And the scouting department will help find some more gems the day after the draft. Very few people pay attention to the Bills, because for years we have been irrelevant. We're like the last guy picked in the draft. Not any more. We're coming to get you, NFL.
  16. I think a key to the success is how quickly the new OL coach can get this group of players into a cohesive unit. There were several OL free agents who signed huge deals...how much better can they block than the 4 we signed? All 4 were highly rated, and the margin between them and those with giant contracts is really not that wide. You can have a star at LT and the line still fails because they lack cohesion. The team got a lot better with the additions. Our receivers should be solid. Foster will get even better. Zay may be ready to become a great player. The guy from the CFL is a talent. We signed John Brown and Beasley. We're much better. The OL should be vastly improved. I think Josh Allen is going to be a superstar. If they can trade down and get extra picks, there is huge value in rounds 2-4. There's a running back to be drafted. Don't be shocked if it's one of the Alabama kids. I'm excited.
  17. This team is a lot better today than they were on Sunday. We got us a bona fide center, a talented TE, a Hall of Fame old mofo RB, a quick slot guy.....what else? Get Ziggy in here, maybe another veteran OL, and get your popcorn ready.
  18. Training camp in WNY is a breeze compared to much of the country. It's not humid, high is usually in the 80's. The fall games can be fantastic. And the winter games are an adventure. I think it has to do with the losing. Even when we were crushing it, we had a fair share of departures.....House, Biscuit, a few others. If you're a pro football player, you should be able to find a girl. Or a boy, if that's what you're into.
  19. I think they'll draft a good RB in the 4th. They have 2 picks in that round, and maybe more will emerge as the draft plays itself out. They're gonna have to cut Ivory, don't you think?
  20. Lots of people are in wonderment over the signing of Frank Gore. If you get a chance, look at highlights from last year in Miami. He's still a solid RB. He's old, but still productive. I think it's a good signing because it makes the Bills look like a good place to play. NFL Network reported that Gore worked out with Shady, and Shady really wanted the team to sign Gore. Gore really wanted to play with Shady in Buffalo. What happened? That's a smart, strategic move. Plus, the guy can still bring it. Word is getting out that Buffalo is a great place to play football. Moves like signing Gore will pave the way for other signings. Siberia ain't so bad after all. Right?
  21. I saw that. They made it look like a really good add for the Bills. I'm okay with it. I just want them to be able to hand the ball to somebody and that person gains more than 2 yards. I don't care how old he/she is.
  22. I don't get it, but then I looked at some highlights from last year in Miami. He looked great compared to what we had going out there. Having just typed that, it still makes no sense to me.
  23. Sounds like Brown didn't want to be on the Buffalo Bills. That's fine. Next.
  24. Despite being the butt of all these jokes and attempts at humiliation, we keep showing up and selling out games.....I'm glad Brown's not coming here. He's a bad person. Not a good teammate. Next.
  25. They have these things called "agility drills," and people called "coaches" who can be utilized to help Metcalf run better routes. What they cannot coach is his size and speed. He's going to be a superstar. Draft him and get your popcorn ready.
