  1. Hey, Dawg....we gotta talk. Things have changed since we did that deal. You know you're not worth 14 million a year. We thought you'd be a 60 catch 8 TD guy, but that ain't in the cards. What say we drop down to about half, and put in some juice if you hit certain incentives? if you get to 60 catches and 8 td's we'll get you to 14. Earn it, bro. Knox: Seems fair. I love playing here. Let's do it.
  2. This is cray. I got 9 players (including Troy Franklin and Michael Hall), and 29 picks in 2025. 11 4th rounders, 2 seconds, 3 thirds, etc.
  3. I think we should consider Cody Schrader, RB from Missouri. He reminds me of Christian McCaffery.
  4. We had the ball with 2 minutes and 2 timeouts. We should've run a couple short plays to try and get a first down....at least run the clock down....and at worst Bass would have had an easier kick. We had the game in our hands, and threw it away. I don't blame Bass, but I think he should've made the kick. Like another guy said, if he tied up the game, Mahomes and co. had at least 90 seconds and 2 time outs to get in field goal range. Look what they did with 13 seconds.
  5. He apologized for not being clear with the message. Did he apologize for using 9/11 as an example, or for not being more articulate in using it? In "Full Metal Jacket," the sergeant used Charles Whitman, the guy who climbed a tower in Texas years ago and mowed down a bunch of people, as an example of a Marine being skilled and precise. Of course, that sergeant was nuts. Is McDermott nuts? One of the reasons we have not won a championship is the existence of Patrick Mahomes. Prior to that, Tom Brady. But we've got Josh Allen, and we should be able to win a few Super Bowls before his time is through.
  6. Can't wait to see how he plays with two hands.
  7. I get it. People are thoroughly disgusted with the 6-6 record, which would be 7-5 if somebody could count to 11. This team was carefully constructed to be a perennial playoff contender. They still are. Losing Daquan, Milano and T White, arguably our best 3 defenders, was a disaster. Our offense got stale and predictable under Dorsey, and they seem to have come back to life. Everybody seems to agree that Elam was a dud, but I believe he will become a solid performer. There are examples of DB's not "getting it" until year 3. In the mean time, they've got Dane Jackson (7th rounder), Benford (late round pick), and Douglas out there doing pretty well. Taron Johnson was a great pick. At least 80% of the players drafted by Beane are still in the league. Harty? Well, maybe he'll come around. I doubt it. Sherfield has not yet been properly used. Beane isn't going anywhere, but I get the feeling that McDermott is not long for this team unless they turn this around. If we somehow make the playoffs, barring severe injuries, I like our chances against anybody. Regarding Knox, maybe when he comes back it will open new doors for this offense. He is overpaid, to be sure. But he is a solid player. I hope he's back next week.
  8. Yeah. Refs suck. I'm still wondering why they picked up the flag. I don't know how to do that. It's on my phone. Tell me how.
  9. The center started running downfield as soon as he snapped the ball. He was nearly 2 yards past the line of scrimmage when the ball left the quarterback's hand. I have it on tape and have watched it several times. Is that why we lost? Because they picked up the flag? Why did they pick up the flag? That's the question. I read somewhere that they thought it was not a forward pass. Does anybody think they would risk throwing a backward pass at that point in the game? No. It was a forward pass. It was a penalty, and they should have called the play back. 1st and 15. Maybe they called roughing because the guy took two full strides after Josh threw the ball. That's avoidable. The center's foot is 3 yards downfield. That's why they dropped the flag. Can you not see that? His left foot is on the 28 yard line.
  10. That's not correct. I have photo screenshot of the play, and he's a between 1 and 2 yards (while running) and the ball is still in Jones' hand.
  11. It would be different if she actually used the f word, and not the abbreviation. That might be embarrassing to her. She was just telling it like it is.
  12. We should have won, but we played a poor game. It happens. Time to move forward. Josh was bad. He knows it. He admitted it. Put this game in the trash. Good for the Jets fans. They deserve a moment of joy. Many of them are human. The Football Gods stepped in and gave them a consolation prize, having lost Rodgers...they needed something to keep them off the ledge. The Patriots coach would be moving on to the next game. We should do the same.
  13. Benford didn't run out of gas, and came from behind to catch him. Joe Marino texted, right after the run, this: "Bills not lined up correctly on that long run from Hall. Bernard has to get the DL to shift. This is that communication piece."
  14. I tried, but was so disgusted with my voice that I shut down the project. I like the idea, though. I just suck. Maybe I'll try in the morning.
  15. Yeah, well Bernie Taupin is terrified. He's a Jets fan.
  16. I tried to record it. I can actually play the song on piano, but my vocals were worse than the lyrics.
  17. Okay, this is dumb, but the other day I heard Bennie and the Jets, and I thought it might be fun to rewrite that song to get my mind in shape for the game Monday night. Hey Bills, get your bags packed Get to NYC put Aaron Rodgers on his back Kill the fat old Jets, rub their faces in the dirt get their head spinning, their feelings are gonna get hurt. Hey Eddie and Poona have you hit him yet? Ooh but he's so knocked out A-aron and the Jets Crawled into a box for a couple days and now he is the king of 5th and Broadway He's got a big old head, his bank is full of bread you know I read it in a magazine A-aron and the Jets. Hey Groot, knock him on his ass T White's gonna intercept at least one pass Josh'll get a few hundred yards and a bunch of TD's By the time the game is over, we'll have the Jets on their knees..... And on and on and so forth. Kill me now, fans.
  18. I think they'll wait till after the Jets game, when the linebackers get to utilize a game plan and practice specifically for the Jets. If they are not good, he may pull a trigger on a replacement. Seems a bit unfair to replace a guy who's worked his tail off, and another who's been injured....without at least giving them a run against the Jets.
  19. The tweet says "as part of the deal". I wonder if there is a conditional pick in next year's draft based upon Boogie's performance.
  20. I keep up with Bills news through a few podcasts. Joe Marino is my daily choice, but I also tune in to One Bills Live and Shout. Are there others you can recommend? I appreciate the enthusiasm of Maddy Glab...it's clear she loves this team and is quite knowledgable. However, I prefer listening to Chris Brown and Steve Tasker. The other day Maddy went on and on about Trey Lance, and the next day spent another 15 minutes or so talking about the 49'ers third backup. It seems that the callers to that show know just as much as Maddy but sometimes she madsplains stuff we've already heard. I also enjoy Bruce Nolan, who comes up with some strange yet effective analogies about the game of football. Who else should I try?
  21. We're a better team than last year's squad. This guy is crazy. Why be mean? Why? We come here to share thoughts and opinions. If nobody cares, why do we do this?
  22. The long run was just bad. Everybody hit their block, and the Bills whiffed. After that, the run defense was good. 32 carries for 58 yards. Seemed like somebody from the league called the refs at halftime and said "enough with the flags," because they stopped throwing them in the second half. Our receivers look really good. We're solid. Even the soon-to-be-cut tight end got 28 yards on a play. I thought that the 7th round pick DB had a nice game with some good tackles. Austin. Penalties, backup QB horrific performance, special teams...giving them a short field most of the game, and our field position was poor most of the night. Kyle Allen had a good game. Reason for hope there. I can't wait to see what's next.
  23. Shakir seems to be thoroughly depressed about that drop. He'll learn from that. He's a very talented receiver. If they try to put him on the practice squad he will be gone in two shakes. If they don't have room for him, they could consider trading him. McDermott's post game comments were a bit weird. He had good things to say about Dodson. Huh? He had some praise for Kyle Allen. In other words, he had nothing relevant to say. Some people have been suspect of Barkley's stats. Hey, if you're 14 of 15 just throwing to guys in practice with no coverage that's pretty good, let alone 3rd stringers. These are professional football players. Let's give him some respect. Maybe they should bring in AJ McCarron for a look. He had a really solid season in the XFL for St. Louis, and probably has a functional understanding of our playbook. He led Alabama to 2 national titles. There has to be some savvy in that dude. They traded him to the Raiders a few years ago, and he hasn't given up on himself. Regarding evaluations and conclusions.....maybe we should hold off for another week or so. It's preseason. They don't have to make cuts for another couple weeks. If there are players for whom they have certainty, get 'em in to shake off the rust. The rest of the guys? Let 'em play and see what happens. I don't see Shakir dropping any more easy passes.
