  1. Sometimes I think playing on the road is an advantage. They travel as a team, stay in the hotel together, bond....and maybe the hostile crowd adds a bit of motivation. Another motivation is that at the end of the game they jump on the plane, have a couple beers, probably met by hundreds of fans at the airport....and get home to their own warm beds. They aren't distracted with all the ticket requests and all that goes with a home game. But the obvious preference is to play at home. I'm just saying that they can take advantage of being on the road together.
  2. I accidentally started another thread on this. I apologize. I flipped through the topics and whiffed. What a dumb thing for a sports reporter to say in a podcast.
  3. https://www.niagara-gazette.com/news/local_news/niagara-gazette-statement-on-jerry-sullivan/article_37230036-7b19-11ed-86fc-0724c30c4220.html https://www.niagara-gazette.com/news/local_news/niagara-gazette-statement-on-jerry-sullivan/article_37230036-7b19-11ed-86fc-0724c30c4220.html Apparently Jerry made some inappropriate comments during a podcast. Anybody hear about this? What did he say?
  4. My guess, which qualifies my comment, is that they wanted to get Rhodes some serious game time, and thought Elam could use another week of rest on his injury. I foresee Tre on one side, and Elam on the other as the future of this pass defense. Having Benford, Dane, and Xavier coming off the bench makes this one of the top secondaries in the league. Don't forget that Tre White sat for a few weeks after being declared healthy. P.S. We won the game, so that counts for something.
  5. Garrett Wilson is having a great year, and caught a bunch of passes last time we played. He was a major factor in that game. I believe that Tre has been gearing up for this matchup, and if he's close to 100%, Wilson is in for a rough day. That's all I got today. Have fun whatever you're doing.
  6. I don't know. Maybe the OP was trying to lessen the blow of losing Von. He has had a significant impact on his teammates, and much of that was off the field. He can still have impact. When Jim Kelly was hurt, Frank Reich stepped up. Von is down. His teammates will get the job done, with him being an active coach and advocate.
  7. Civil suit appears to be next. We have a pretty good punter right now.
  8. I haven't read all the posts, because it's early and I'm too lazy. But Ingram's dance out of bounds is what cost the Saints the game.
  9. I was obsessed with the officiating. When they called interference on Hamlin, my friends and I agreed that Hamlin's defense on that play could be used as a training video on how to break up a pass. The holding calls on our guys were just pancake blocks....they flattened the guy, and were called for holding. Hymes was facemasked in front of the world, no call...yet a handful of plays later they called it on our guy when he barely touched the guy's helmet and the route was not impeded whatsoever. When Von got a sack, they called defensive holding on Milano....I have my doubts about that, and they had no replay to verify. But I'm glad we won, of course.....we're missing some special talents out there, and somehow we got by. The last two losses were due to our offense giving away the ball. This time, we did not and we won.
  10. The turnovers are what did us in. They'll fix that. The fumble in the end zone. We could be 8-1, sure. We're not. Duh. When we are on our game and not giving the ball away, we are as tough as anybody in this league. Can't wait till Tre is back. Groot, Poyer, Tre, Milano....and our DT's stay in their gaps and do a better job plugging holes. We'll be fine. Might win out.
  11. Good pancake block. As far as the catch, I think Diggs had both feet in bounds when he went up for the ball, and when he came down, he did not. But, as we all know, the biggest play of the game was Josh's first pick, when he was screened and didn't see the guy closing in on the ball. Stuff happens.
  12. I agree with you, as does Josh. The first pick cost us at least 3. The second pick gave them 7. Bernard is a rookie who had a bad game. Combine that with Johnson who was horrible, and no Milano....it's no wonder the Jets were running like crazy. We've had the best safety tandem in the league for years. Missing one hurts. Missing both reveals a major weakness. Maybe Marlow will catch up. He was a good backup, and signed with Detroit to become a starter. I like him. Josh and Dorsey will review the film, find out what's going on out there, who's getting open, and diversify. They can march up and down the field if they choose the open, shorter routes.
  13. Milano would have made a big difference out there. I don't know that Josh even saw that guy on the first pick. Maybe the green pants blended with the turf....he just didn't see the guy. That was pass interference. Should have been lining up a tying field goal and headed to OT. Even if they didn't call holding on Diggs' catch, they probably would've overturned the catch. His toes were in went he went up, but they were out when he came down. I'd rather play poorly and lose that play great and lose. Today we didn't have it. Don't give up on this team.
  14. It's a disease. I've had it my whole life as a Bills fan. On any given Sunday.....see the Jags game, last year. This year I truly believe they are not looking ahead. Their focus is on this week and this week only. That makes a difference.
  15. Obvious trip, there. How did they miss that? They also missed our guy holding the guy tripping Josh. And the ref was, what, 10 feet away?
  16. What's the problem? My man is just sharing a good video. I loved it. Keep everybody!!
  17. He'll be fine. He isn't a rookie, and he knows the league. I'm looking forward to having a veteran out there on the corner.
  18. Baltimore had some rookies and second stringers out there in the defensive backfield. They were lost....can't believe how wide open those guys werer. We are going to have some rookies and second stringers out there too. The difference is, our guys have great coaching and won't make those kinds of mistakes. Tua floats passes against us, they'll be picked off.
  19. Much better. He's got a quarterback's mind, and he is creative. He'll make sure they take full advantage of the assets on this offense. You may even see Dawson Knox throw a pass. He used to be a quarterback, you know.
  20. First, they haven't announced the money yet. Secondly, he is one of the best, and to keep him they have to pay market value. Perhaps your issue should be the market value of tight ends....like Njoku.
  21. I'm pretty sure this is set up to be cap friendly and allow flexibility moving forward. Knox deserves to be paid like other top flight tight ends. He's a great player, and I'm glad he's staying.
  22. Too lazy to read ll 13 pages. But I am thrilled with this practice squad....especially Tavon Austin...waiting in the wings. He can do many things, including punt returns and slot guy.
  23. I thought trading Moss might be doing him a favor. He probably won't get more than 5-6 touches a game, and he seems to be at his peak right now. If he got to a team that needed him, he might do quite well. Here, he's probably wasted. However, if he stays healthy and next year we move on from Singletary....well, that's a good thing.
  24. It appears that the Bills believed Matt's story. I don't know who or what to believe. But I think the young woman's lawyer is a piece of *****. I don't believe that he wasn't looking for money. He's trashing the Bills. They're not involved in the lawsuit. What did they do wrong? He makes Saul Goodman look like Clarence Darrow.
