  1. 14 of 15 against open air is pretty impressive. He was fine.
  2. I'd take this year's RB room over last year's. Cornerback....reports are that T White is back to his old self, and we now have Benford, Elam entering the second year, absolutely better than when they started, with Dane Jackson in the fold as well. Safety? Well, you gotta count the players that are here right now. Hyde, Poyer, Hamlin, Taylor Rapp. I don't know how the inside linebackers will perform, but I get the feeling that McDermott has a plan for them. But, it's just an opinion. We'll see.
  3. I can't wait for this season. The team has improved at RB, TE, OL, WR, DL, DE, CB, and safety. Hold steady at LB and let's roll.
  4. They've had basketball championships. Other than the 60's AFL, we got nothing.
  5. Do you guys think Cowherd has any impact on how the team plays? Do you think his comments or this thread will end up on a billboard? I love this team. I can forgive the Cinci loss....I think they were burnt out, and they played like it. I think that's part of the reason Diggs was so pissed. The team didn't show any passion. They were cooked. That game was an aberration. But that was last year. Hamlin's fine. Beane has done a great job plugging holes and finding talent. The draft was exciting. Signing Leonard Floyd was excellent. I don't care what Cowherd says about our coach. I do care what many of you say about our coach and our team. That's why I check in here a few times a day. Bills fans are so damn loyal, and nobody deserves a championship more than the fans of the Buffalo Bills.
  6. Tasker suggested that if Diggs isn't there it might actually help the team, as other receivers will get more reps. The fine is 16K for today? The guy has a 96 million dollar contract. That would be like me having to pay 50 cents to skip work.
  7. My wife walked in the house and found me kneeling in front of the t.v. screaming at the top of my lungs. I'm surprised we're still married.
  8. Every team has improved. Media is focused on Aaron and Jalen Ramsey, and some other choice deals. But our team has more improved than anybody in the league. WR, OL, DL, TE, RB all improved with signings and draft picks. Safety improved with the return of Hyde AND Poyer, and Rapp, not to mention the return of Damar. Cornerback is improved with healthy T. White, second year Elam, Benford, and others including draft choice and free agent signings. We lost Edmunds, but I think they had decided to shift to a new more aggressive type defense. Watch out.
  9. I disagree. We're spoiled by success. The 13 second game was a crazy failure, starting with the kickoff. The Cinci game was a matter of our team just being out of gas and exhausted. The defensive failures in the playoffs, following top rankings all season long....that's the problem. McDermott has addressed this by taking over, and this will be the year when that all changes.
  10. They signed him because they think he can play football. He needed another chance. His draft profile was excellent. I wondered what happened to Shane Ray. Glad to welcome him to Buffalo. Go get 'em, Shane.
  11. There is nothing random about this. They see something, and they want him on the team. We'll find out why once camp starts.
  12. I spent hours and hours getting ready to watch this draft. To watch. Not to pick. The Bills probably spend hours and hours studying every player they put on their board. That's why they chose this group of players. If I were in charge of this draft, I'm not sure any of our picks would be on the team. I never heard of 3 of them. Or, if I had they didn't make my cut. What do I know? Nothing. Well, our team has won a lot of games lately, after 17 years of not winning many games. The people in charge now are responsible for that. Therefore, I'm going to go out on a limb and like this draft.
  13. We got a guy who gets open and catches the ball, and then gets yards after catch. And he's big. I wasn't thrilled that the best receivers (except Q Johnson) were smurfs. I bet Josh would enjoy seeing a big guy, wide open, who he trusts to catch the ball.
  14. He had 35 touchdowns and 4 drops in his career. Come on. Incredible stat.
  15. Regarding Klein...a couple years ago I watched him and declared him "the worst player I've ever seen." Hated him. Then, a couple weeks later they apparently figured out how to use him, or he switched bodies with somebody, but he turned into a beast. He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week. And I had a crow tartare for lunch that day. I'm glad they brought him back.
  16. I'll wait on Bernard. When he got on the field, it was due to injury and he wasn't ready. They chose him to develop over time, and it's time now to see him develop. Maybe he'll put on 15 pounds and get taller and become a beast. Biggest surprise for me was probably Whitner. I freaked out. I remember thinking they had the USC QB in their hands, and they surely could've traded down. Nobody really knows how players will turn out. Read the pre-draft analysis on just about anybody and you might think he's gonna be great. I'll wait on Bernard. When he got on the field, it was due to injury and he wasn't ready. 17. Sometimes the team hesitates and pulls back a bit....like the Christian McCaffery deal. San Francisco made the deal, and he made a big difference. I read that it might take a 2nd round pick to get DHop...ok. Let's examine what we do with 2nd round picks. Cook? Good one. That's about it. Basham, Epenesa, Ford...it's not like we've had success in the 2nd round. We're better with the 3rd day picks. Is DHop too old? Was Lofton too old when we got him? I think he was 34. Do we want to see DHop go to the Chiefs?
  18. I'd like the tight end from Georgia. Darnell Washington. He's a tackle in a tight end suit, and fast with good hands. Game definer.
  19. We suggested that the tavern or restaurant let them thaw first, then pop them into a toaster oven. They could be microwaved, but they weren't very good that way. Thanks for reading. It was a huge deal in my life.
  20. Back in 1984 my sister and I both lived in Milwaukee. We thought it would be great to introduce Buffalo Style Wings to the area. At first we thought about opening a restaurant, but we didn't have the money for that. So we created our own....to sample at taverns and the like. Meanwhile, a friend knew a place in Watertown, Wisconsin that made frozen fish. We met with that guy, and brought some samples. He freaked out at the idea, because he'd had them while visiting Buffalo. He said he could make them for us! He reversed the fish frying process.....first fry the wings, then coat them with a sauce, then freeze them and package them. I found a guy in Tennessee who sold us 55 gallon drums of hot sauce (he said "I can make that as hot as you want. We've got peppers that will kill people." We went with a medium level heat.) We had a couple guys selling them to bars and restaurants, and they were a hit. We were having them produced 10,000 pounds at a time, and selling 21 pound boxes (6 3.5 lb. bags in each) for $49.95. We eventually had nearly 200 places that had ordered at least one case, and we had the airport restaurant on board. We found ourselves on the front page of the business section of the Milwaukee Journal (color picture), and things were looking pretty good. Then we met a food distributor who was interested in taking us to a higher level. We met with the president of the company, who snarfed down about a pound of wings in under a minute; blue cheese dripping on his shirt. He said, "We're gonna make you guys a lot of money!" and ordered 500 cases. We had 30,000 pounds processed and delivered to this company.....and their sales VP told us they were on a consignment basis, the old man's nuts. We'll pay you as we sell them. And then they sat in their warehouse. They screwed up our relationships our existing clients. We sent our own people out with their sales team, and the only wings that were sold were sold by our guys. They jacked the price up to $65 a case, and they just sat there til we were out of money and out of business. Our lawyer couldn't get the old man to admit he even ordered the stuff, and we had no choice but to stop. I can honestly say that we had an impact on bringing the wings to the midwest....it was inevitable that they would end up being popular. And they are pretty easy to duplicate. But we had an impact. We were young and made some mistakes, but we were on the right track.
  21. I'm not concerned about his salary. If Beane needs more cap space, he'll create it. We're only gonna run the ball 20-25 times a game anyway. This adds to the threat. I'd like them to draft the tight end from Georgia. I don't know how teams will know who to cover. By the way, I read that Harris caught something like 40 of 50 targets 2 years ago, so I think that shows he can catch the ball out of the backfield. I don't think we'll take a linebacker or safety in the first round....unless somebody unexpected drops to us. I do see Beane moving down a few spots to where the value matches the need.
  22. If he played against the Bills every game, he'd have 2500 yards a season. They couldn't stop this guy. Welcome aboard.
