  1. Trust the process. Our special teams need to get better as well....
  2. I honestly didn't see any of these signings coming, except Josh Norman. I was shocked when they got Diggs. They're always digging hard to improve the roster....that's how we ended up with Jordan Phillips.
  3. We have a very smart GM making these moves. I like every single one of them. Including special teams. Bring it.
  4. Top 100 free agents: Number 29 29. EDGE DANTE FOWLER JR. Fowler had the best season of his four-year career in 2019, producing a 73.4 pass-rush grade that ranks 31st among qualifying edge defenders. Fowler has gathered the sixth-most sacks (15) while ranking 38th in win rate and 20th in pressure rate. Not to mention, he had the second-most pressures that were cleanups or pursuits. His pressure rate this year was over three percentage points higher than we have seen from him in a single season. Fowler is likely going to get overpaid based on the 2019 sack numbers, but that’s not to say he isn’t a good player — he’ll be a good addition to a pass-rush unit if a team can get him for the right price.
  5. Brady. Best move for him and the league. Going to Tampa does nothing. They'll still be middle of the pack.
  6. Where do you get your information? Maybe he's not good enough to start at Pittsburgh, but they must feel there are ways to utilize his talents other than just special teams, or they would not have signed him.
  7. It's a perfect move, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was orchestrated by the league. The Chargers are selling PSL's for $100, which will surely be adjusted once the deal is announced. It gives LA a reason to get off their butts and go to that sparkly new venue. Once they buy all the season tickets, they'll be hooked.
  8. Post of the day. People need to realize this was not much to give up to get a great player like Diggs.
  9. I skipped ahead from page 6 to 20. Here's the thing: We got a 6th for Bodine, who was cut one week later. We got a 5th and a 6th for Wyatt Teller, who wasn't going to start for us, might not have even made the team. We had 2 5th's and 3 6ths, thanks to Beane busting a couple moves last summer. They were going to be used to trade up. Let's say Diggs is worth the 12th pick in the draft. Was that too much to take that player? Go back thru the draft history of WR's taken in the 1st-2nd round. Lots of swings and misses. Ask Detroit fans. Diggs can be dominant. With John Brown burning downfield, Beasley darting around 10 yards downfield, Knox making tough catches and plowing through linebackers....they can't cover all those guys. And we have an intact OL coming back, Josh at QB, Singletary in the backfield. This is shaping up quite nicely. And Beane ain't done.
  10. We signed Josh Norman. When he gets back to the form he showed in McDermott's defense, we'll be very pleased. We also locked up our starting guard for the next 3 years. That's our start in free agency. I wish they'd kept Shaq, but they didn't. If he was that great he would have played more than 49% of the time. Plus, he'll be worth a 3rd round compensation pick next year, assuming we lose a couple other guys too. Jordan Phillips hasn't gone anywhere yet. Maybe he'll stick around. Vosean Joseph may be our new linebacker. He hits like a mack truck. Didn't play at all last year. That's like adding a starter for free. The salaries banged out today are a bit much. Things will settle down and we'll find something out there. Not worried. Oh, don't forget. Harrison Phillips is rarin' to go, and Ed Oliver is ready to blow up.
  11. Lawson had 6.5 sacks while only on the field 49% of the time. Do the math.
  12. Maybe that special teams ace from the Pats. Slater. Wait, he just signed with them. Sorry.
  13. I like the signing, and I think we have talent at tight end. Knox dropped some passes, but he also made some spectacular catches. He can block. Sweeney had some key catches. Croom is a good athlete. And he knows the system. If he's on the opening day roster, it will be because he earned it on the field. If not, it will because he did not. I can't wait to see who they sign before the draft. They're always on the prowl for talent. A good example was the signing of Jordan Phillips, cut by the Dolphins. I think Vosean Joseph is a guy who might come up and become a really good player. His drafting was no accident. We were 10-6 with this group, could have been 12-4, if they hadn't lost to the Browns and the last game meant nothing. Good season, and a lot to build upon.
  14. I'd rather they do it this way. From what I understand, Mel Kiper's hair is already under quarantine.
  15. There was a reason they signed him last year. He's a good athlete and will be productive when he's 100% healthy. They'll put in some plays to leverage his strengths. Anybody remember the touchdown he scored last year? Won a game for us. Saved some bucks. He was an 8 million dollar guy. Now he's half that.
  16. Ford is a talent. Maybe it took him most of the season to begin adjusting to the speed of the game. He's a beast, man, a mauler. A lot of players take years to get to their peak. Some never get there. I have faith in this team. Somebody earlier posted that continuity is critical to the success of an offensive line. Perhaps last year was the training time for the players to get comfortable. I think they'll pick up another lineman or two in the draft to further develop the depth of talent. Excellent signing.
  17. I haven't watched more than 3 minutes of any Redskins game, except when we beat them.....I don't remember anything about Norman from that game. I don't know anything about him except that a lot of people say he sucked the past 3 years. I do remember when we signed Micah Hyde that my friends from Green Bay told me he was horrible. Wasn't Lofton washed up when we brought him in? I have no idea how Josh Norman is going to do here. I do, however, believe that Beane and McDermott have a pretty good set of expectations.
  18. Cynthia Freelund has us taking Epenesa, with Ruggs going next to the Pats. SI has us trading up with Dallas to take Chaisson. Hand me that ukelele Bob, I'm going to tiptoe through the tulips.
  19. I've been a member since 2002. Actually, had been on board prior to that, but for some reason got rebooted with a new name. But I'm still a rookie! I see that Hapless Bills Fan has posted 14 times as many as me. That's Hall of Fame posting, bro. And I agree we shouldn't have traded Lamonica. But how else would we have ended up with Dennis Shaw?
  20. Every day I search for NFL Mock Drafts. Sometimes twice a day. I get worked up to see that Drafttek has us getting Epenesa, or angry that somebody has us taking a guard from Michigan...in the first! And I read names of players I've never heard of, maybe take a look at YouTube. Getting ready for the big day. Names like Laviska or Tee or Yatur become entrenched in my pea-sized football mind. Help. I need a hobby. I love that we have Beane who isn't shy about making deals. Look at all the moves he had to make to get ready to draft Josh, and about an hour later we also had Edmunds. Last year he moved up to get....Dawson Knox....never heard of the guy, but he made some stunning plays this year, including dropsies. We've got somebody named Vosean, who sat out last year and may become a great player this year. Think about that war room.....they have set their board and there are still a couple hundred players available, and they pull the switch and take an unknown DE from Tennessee who might be an answer at DE. There is nothing random about these picks. Beane didn't go nuts and overpay last year for players (although the tight end from Cinci may have been a stretch, I say maybe) yet rebuilt our offensive line...still a work in progress. He traded the rights to Mahomes and ended up with one of the two best corners in football, and some extra capital in the process, which he used to get his quarterback....our quarterback. He fleeced a pick from New England for Bodine, who was cut a week later. He got two picks for Wyatt Teller. These picks will enable him to move up a few slots to get somebody he wants in the 3rd or 4th round. This guy is a football thinking man, and we're lucky to have him. So as the draft unfolds, I look for the Bills to be active in getting the guy they want in the first.....one of the top players in America. But for now, I've decided I want Shenault. No, Jefferson....wait, what if we could get Chaisson? Maybe we'll move up two slots to get Ruggs. Or maybe we'll move down 4 slots and end up with Zach Baun AND Clyde Edwards Helaire in the 2nd. What about that kid from Lenoir Rhyne? Really, what will he do with all that cap space? I'm telling you guys, I'm obsessed, and it's fun being a Bills fan. And it's torture. It's a disease, and there is no cure until we win a Super Bowl. Hey, I just posted a few random thoughts in no particular order.
  21. I don't know about these guys. Are they competitors? I've got nothing against them, but their mock draft was flat out weird. They had a pretty good discussion about the first round pick, Laviska the WR vs. Chaisson the pass rusher....and they had me convinced that they were taking the pass rush guy, because you can get a good WR in the 2nd, and the pass rush guy is pretty damn good. Then they took Shenault. That's fine, can't go wrong there. But the rest of the draft was just weird; like they're on some mind-bending ether binge. They took Arnett from Ohio State in the 2nd, Kareem, a DE in the 3rd, Chase something from Notre Dame in the 4th, etc. etc. Each pick was more puzzling than the next. I enjoyed the giggling, though. They seem like good dudes.
  22. Vosean Joseph, mentioned briefly in an earlier post, may become a starter next year. If you watch his film from college, he is a banger, and has great potential. Let our coaches work with him. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/vosean-joseph?id=32194a4f-5327-9094-dac1-97c8315d8803
  23. Sometimes an offensive coordinator is only as good as the talent he is coaching. For example, Josh McDaniels sucked the big one when he left the Pats for a while. The Bengals should hang onto that pick no matter what. And keep AJ Green in case he wants to hit somebody who is open on occasion.
